A no-name call to my cellular phone with a computer voice telling me that my debit card has been cancelled. So what? I don't have a debit card. Then the voice wanted my sixteen digit account number. These people must think I'm an absolute idiot asking for that. RE: One of the entries below, the feds don't do anything about these calls. Being in Washington DC, the corruption capital of the world, one can only wonder who is getting paid off so nothing will be done. Then our a** senator explains the National Do Not Call registry when told about the do nothing FTC. Oh, I forgot, the FTC is part of the corruption crew.

Caller claimed to represent Media Surveys (or Services?). She confirmed the number called and wanted just one minute for me to answer five questions. I reluctantly agreed. First question – my first name; obviously calling from a list of numbers only. I questioned the need to know my name. She asked why I needed to know; count that as question #2. I pointed out that her minute was about to expire and asked her to remove my number from their list. She asked why (#3). I told her that time was nearly up. Quite frustrated, she did manage to remain fairly calm and I did hear a choked "thank you" as I hung up.

This #calls all the time.Supposedly it is a company called "Asia Pacific". Asia Pacific is a shell compa ny for SBN Peripherals based in LA. From what I've read, the Feds supposedly shut them down in 2012. I guess they laid low, and haved now resumed business. Keep filing complaints, as it looks to me the Feds don't do anything untill there are a LOT of complaints!

In the meantime I'm increasing my reporting to ALL these assholes that call to now include my *60 Block Call list, Gov.'t Do Not Call site and my State reporting website. I would like to know if there is a National Organization where one can join and file a Class-Action Lawsuit against repeated callers for wasting my precious time and being F'n. annoying.

Call from known scam at 3:15pm MST on 12/13. Didn't pick up phone, believed to be either 'Card Services', 'Auto Warranty', or 'West Asset Management' (a debt collection scam out of Fredericksburg, VA confirmed by several other sightings recently).

Called number, got 'This number is not allocated', so the use of this phone number is spoofing, which is also illegal under the legislation governing the Do-Not-Call list.

They are calling daily. I didn't answer, and they don't leave a message. I see where people are saying that the caller hangs up. When a caller does that, they are only verifying that the number they called is a working number so they can sell it to other spam callers. Actually one came listing somewhere in Louisiana the other day. When I called it back, with my number blocked, I was told that it wasn't a working number. So these people also know how to mask their own numbers.

Call was to sell ESCo (Energy Savings Company, as this Asian lady indicated on the other end of the phone). They claimed to save me 50% off my power bill. Of course, they didn't know what my bill was currently, but that's beside the point.

I told them to not call back. Then, I redialed THEM. It must be an IP number (Google Voice, or some other service) because I get a message "The number you have dialed is unallocated."

Sounds too much like a scam to not be a scam.

I got a call on my cell on 8/7/13. The reception of my cell was poor and the cll was cutting in/out. It was a female who sounded like she was from India. I could hear the chatter in the background that tipped me it was a boiler room calling operation.
They knew my name and that I was an actor. After a few moments I could tell they were trying to pitch me a pay for service (probably some kind of casting service). I straight out asked her " Are you offering me work or ar e you pitching me a service?" .
She would not answer my question but said " OK, lets get started. Do you go on auditions? We have film work with Robert DeNiro..." and that was the " tell" . If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I said " No thanks", and hung up. I tried calling the number from an IP phone and it just rang and there was no answer. I don't like getting solicitation calls on my cell and hope this isn't a trend.

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com

In their own words: 'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their scam then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
2. Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone
3. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4. Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5. People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office
6. Report any criminal activity to the FBI here: https://tips.fbi.gov

This is an all out attack from these scum sucking filthy pigs! EVERYONE should be reporting them everywhere that they can. Since this is an obvious attempt at identity theft and is interstate, the FBI should be forced to get involved. Charge them with a CRIMINAL offense and throw them in prison instead of the FCC saying 'Naughty - naughty, now go out and play nice'. (Prosecute them in criminal court instead of civil penalties).

Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call 888-382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

Why
 Mar 02nd, 2013
Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they all know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC.
Most of the inbound robo call numbers are spoofed, as most of the bolierhouses, both off and on shore, are using Voip SIP Trunks services. Throwaway DID numbers are also used. Some of the robocalling is operated by the end use scammers directly. Others are contract services who earn a referral fee once you are transferred to the scammers.

The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them almost nothing and they make millions of them so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

The banking system is also at fault here, without merchant accounts and ACH processing these criminals could not collect the scammed funds. Though the criminals use obfuscation, layered corporations, multiple bank accounts and offshore stashing, patterns of obvious fraudulent activity become apparent after a very short time.

If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for Caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending their Caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay your phone company to have the Caller ID displayed. The scammers send out millions of calls which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with the phone companies inability to stop these calls.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the Caller ID at no charge as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.

There is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how one company is getting away with this activity.

Despite the best interagency enforcement efforts to combat mass marketing fraud, the FBI remains cognizant of the fact that the only enduring remedy for this crime problem lies in consumer education and fraud prevention programs. Toward this end, the FBI has not only produced its own mass marketing fraud prevention materials, but coordinates on other public information efforts with the DOJ, FTC, and the USPIS, among others. The FBI also supports a consumer fraud prevention website in conjunction with the USPIS which can be located on the web at: Additionally, further information on mass marketing fraud schemes can be found at www.fbi.gov, www.ftc.gov, www.ic3.gov, and www.stopfraud.gov.

Serious attempt to scam. They knew my name and knew who my gas utility was. They knew I had gas heat. They told me they were from my utility company which was giving a 10% discount off my bill for one year because I had gas heat. Then she wanted me to get my bill so she could verify my information. She knew my name and my address - very very scary. But of course did not know my utility account number. Needless to say I would not give it to her. I hung up and called my utility company who told me there are dozens of these people trying to switch your gas service without you knowing it - until you get a bill. She gave me the number it the public service commission to report it to. So creepy that the scammer had my name, address and phone number. Wonder what else she knew? Looks like some one has sold this scammer some serious info!

I told her Biotics Research and she said "oh so you don't carry nutritional supplements".....ok??...I inquired some more and basically she was wanting to know if I carried Standard Process because that is "what was recommended to her previously". I stated those could be purchased online if she preferred to refill what she was currently taking and she hung up. Basically she seemed very suspect and didn't sound like your typical new patient seeking info...accent...sounded scripted...pause at the beginning of call when I picked up....scam

Pacific telecomm is a company that has sold its entire block of 70,000+ numbers to one company that is infamous for its violation of telemarketing laws. The telemarketing company makes money not from whatever they claim they're selling, but from the fact other telecom providers hackve to pay Pacific telecomm a tiny fee for the caller I'd info they transmit

These people are under investigation by the Feds and several state attorney generals. They will never ever stop calling unless they are put out of business.

Person called inquiring about apt. Found odd immediately, b/c of Oregon phone number (I'm a naturopathic doctor in NY), and called 9:15, which in Oregon would have been 6:15. Asked if person was in NY, as was told no, but going to relocate soon. Had my old address. Asked if I carry Metagenics products. She sounded like a telemarketer reading, I never had a real patient sound like this.

I'm a Chiropractor. The woman (she sounded like Bjork, the Icelandic singer!?) said her and her mother would like to schedule an appointment. I was very suspicious because she kept referring to her mother, and they were coming to Minnesota from Hawaii. Who the hell would leave Hawaii in January and come to Minnesota!? She had my old office address and I gave her the new address and said she would call back in 3-4 weeks to schedule an appointment. When I asked her name she mumbled something, and when I asked her to spell it she hung up! Very suspect.

Caller ID shows Salem OR. Caller claims to be from Canadian Pharmacy and needs to talk about an on line order.
This is just a scam to get personal information so they can drain your bank account. I have had the same type of call before, where the caller asks for a specific person at my address. The phone number on the caller ID more than likely is bogus. They use spoofing equipment and the caller ID can be anything they want. Due to the heavy accent the lady had, I would guess that this call actually came from somewhere other than Salem Oregon.

I received a phone call from this number by a female who stated I should attend a seminar for a time share. I told her I'm not interested, take my number off the listing, and hung up. The caller called again and sent directly to voicemail. No voicemail was left and was called again in less than 1 minute. I sent the caller to voicemail and again, no messages were left. 1 minute later, the caller called AGAIN and I picked up and told them this is a form of harassment and to NEVER call this number again. The female then proceeded to state why I was not interested in a great opportunity but hung up on her. The caller yet called AGAIN!!! This time I used some language that will not be repeated and called my carrier. I called the number back and unfortunately, the number is disconnected and belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group.

Ignorant lout called me and tried to off-load a teeth whitener commodity. I told him, that I did not want this and he said that it would be sent out to me and that I would be billed for it and that it would be taken out of my credit card. They do not have my card details but he kept insisting that it would be taken out. I said to him what part of "NO" did he not understand and he raised his voice and tried to talk over me. I hung up on him as I did not wish to waist any further time, talking with an ignorant lout.

This time I DID answer and I did so in Spanish in a little old lady voice. They hung up immediately. *giggle* I am guessing that they speak only English. They call every freaking day and I am just going to mess with them as much as they mess with me. They are, after all, calling MY phone over and over and I will answer in every language that I can say "hello" in, :D

As soon as you tell them that you are on the do not call list, they start talking very dirty to you, threaten to come to you house (come on, Make my day), just horrible language and they wouldn't stop and admit that they will continue to harrass you.

received 33 calls from this company so far today. Female said her name was Jan Evans (heavy Arabic accent), another Kim (heavy Arabic accent), another Shania (heavy Arabic accent again) and the rest were a male sounded like same one each time (heavy Arabic accent) said they were from Customer offers, payday loans, they usually say company name so fast you don’t hear it and when asked to repeat their name or company name they hang up or start their sales pitch. Calls started from 8 am until 8 pm got calls from same company from other numbers.. total calls from this company from all the numbers they called me from 32 so far... they keep telling me they will remove my number.. but as soon as i hang up with one rep they call me from one of the other numbers with in 5 minutes calls stop for about half an hour then same numbers keep calling me back….. 801-210-7117 (7xs), 561-829-2170 (7xs), 9712089936 (7xs), 888-599-1720 (1x), 259-606-3249(2xs), 965-572-8373 (1x), 457-283-7358 (2xs) and a few numbers that come up unkown (7xs). After heavy research on line all calls come from Tamil Nadu, Gujrat, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Jkarkhand. (All cities in India) Sick of these calls..when they call they keep offering me info to go back to school or loans... i dont do any of this stuff on line have 4 great colleges in my area and lots of local banks if i was going to do any of this stuff. Think I will start telling that the person they are calling for can be reached at XXX-XXX-XXXX (the number of my local police department then we will see how many times they call back)

This number calls me several times daily and never leaves a message so I suspect it's a telemarketer. If they won't leave a message....then I know it's not a friend.

I didn't answer when I saw the caller ID said Asia Pacific. I let it roll over to callnotes. Although no one spoke, it sounded like a telemarketing operations room.

I think this unidentified caller from Salem, OR is actually from an organization called NODID. 971 2089936. As I didn't answer the first call at 10 PM they immediatedly called back on the Salem. OR exchange. I am on TWO do not call lists. All these jokers/scammers pay absolutely no attention at all and to call at 10 PM - unbelievable
