I did a little online research and it looks like this number is one of the many spoofed numbers that a scam credit card company is using. The company appears to be Versa Debt and is now known as Personal Debt Solutions, based in Marrieta, GA (even though this number appears to be from Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

Here are some posts from another website that I read, from former employees:
-----------------
The name of the company is versa debt, debt safe, account services, warranty, now called PDS (personal debt solutions) the address is 4501 circle 75 pkwy #a 1225 atalnta ga 30339 The phone number is 678.569.0621 and managers name is brittany dunphy (she has a yahoo account and that is how they communicate) If you add her to your yahoo messanger you may get messages from her from time to time) the human resources manager is lasheena calloway 678-238-1307.
---------------------------
Someone also did a phone number search and came up with this:
Reverse Search By Phone (people and businesses):
'954-733-7981'
1 match found

Email this listing to a friend
BRILHANTE, JOHN954-733-7981
Ft Lauderdale, FL 33301

Sources: Infospace/Direct

The company is appearantly called "versa debt". See more info about them at http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-954-689-7681. They use forged caller IDs.

I have been hit by this company a number of times on my unlisted, businessline and have filed a couple complaints with the FCC.

If we all file complaints with the FCC, maybe we can put them out of business!!

I am on the Do Not Call List. This was a recorded call. I pressed "1" to speak to their representative. The representative addressed me by my first name (my telephone is listed with initials, not a first name). When I ask to whom I was speaking, their representative said, "the Warranty Operations Center. When I replied, "with what company," she hung up one me.

I received an automated message about my credit rate expiring on my card. If interested in lowing the rate on my card I should press 1. Pressed one and spoke to many people, who asked which card I want to reduce the rate on and when I give any answer that indicates reluctance to give them a credit card number, they hang up. They keep on calling no matter what I tell them. I am on DNC but they don't care.

it is a scam: look at others who said YES to this service
http://www.my3cents.com/showReview.cgi?id=24286

I was contacted by phone on 7/11/07 and was told I could save $3,000 to $5,000 and get an interest rate reduction to MAYBE 6.9% on my high interest credit cards. When I asked if I could think about it and call back I was told NO. There were a lot of red flags I should have clued into but this guy was REALLY good. He told me there were no out of pocket expenses but $990.00 was charged to my Visa card by Debt Safe not Versa Debt. When I tried to call the number he gave me to call anytime with questions I received the "all circuits are busy" message. I have been sick for days.....

Beware of anyone calling from Versa Debt! I have a feeling I've been scammed in a big way!

These are the same criminals that are using 954-689-7681. They are spoofing the caller ID, so don't bother trying to call them back. Just keep reporting them to the FTC, the FCC, and your local police. Maybe someday somebody will figure a way to shut them down.

These people claim to be "Card Services" in Orlando, Florida. They want your credit card information so they can "qualify" you for a reduced rate. When I asked if they had a website, they said yes and hung up immediately. Clearly, they are criminals. They trick is to keep them talking long enough to figure out who they are. If anybody is successful, please post it here.

Get this call AGAIN! I was polite and talked to them. I called the number on my cell while I was being 'routed' on the call and it came back 'not in service'.

They were trying to get credit card info, supposedly to 'consolidate'.

I kept the girlo on the line for maybe 20 minutes, acting interested but "I don't know" kind of thing. Finally I said I wasn't sure, but wanted to know how to contact them.

She instantly hung up on me.

I have been receiving many calls from this number but have not picked up as I did not recognize it. After several calls, i decided to to some investigating...first I found out from an operator at my phone company who called this number on my behalf and spoke with a gentleman claiming to be a lawyer with very important information to share with me. Today when they called, I did pick up but I got a message saying that I should push any button to talk with a rep. I have been receiving many calls like this over the past couple of weeks so did not respond to it. According to one of the few numbers (with the same message) your company was able to locate, it revealed that several people had received similar calls and have pushed the button and apparently the people on the other end have attempted a VERY WIDE variety of tatics to scam people out of money...look up the number 954-689-7681 to see what I am talking about.

I had been receiving many calls (from all over the country) stating that they have important information to share and I should push any button to speak with a representative. I have never responded to them but I've reported these calls to a local utilities commission as well as the do not call registery (I AM registerd yet continue to get these calls). I also spoke with a representative at my phone company who called this number and the person claimed to be a lawyer with important information to share with me. I did pick up the phone today and I got the exact same message ("push any button to speak with our representative") as I have on these other calls-one of the other numbers 954-689-7681) I have checked into via this website revealed that they have attempted to scam many people in several different ways!

This outfit seems to craft their CID according to the call. Why believe ANYTHING from them, including the number?

It is too bad that CID was designed while most call originations were still fully governed by a closed infrastructure, yet it hasn't been altered even with fly-by-nights running various services, and anybody with VoIP or various other technologies, able to forge their own CID.

Calling me for months!!! Ignore me when I ask to be removed from their list. I'm on the do not call registry. They don't care. As if aggravating me for months at a time will make me want to do business with them even if they didn't reek of a scam? Keep them on the phone and waste their time it's what I've started doing. Then report them to the FCC. Maybe enough reports will force them to stop.

I concur with caller #7 (Jane). I resent charities & politicians who are exempt from the DNC list, to solicite money/elect/vote for them, while I shuffle my leftover peas & carrots to the side during my dinner. They are corrupt individuals who invade my right to privacy. They DON'T deserve my vote or my money. I don't care what kind of donkey or elephant they drive. It ain't right America. And that goes to all the other SleazeBag, Inc. companies out there who find a way to navigate DNC for their own consumptive greed. I report them as nuisance callers. I'm not nice or smiley about it either.

I received a call from this number yesterday 19JUN07 1633 EDT. My caller ID said "Florida" and the subject phone number. I tried to question the caller, a woman's voice, but got no response, just a continuous recorded promise to reduce my credit card interest rates. I was really ticked off but could do nothing, so I hung up. Now I see lots of folks are being invaded by these shysters! From my web search, it appears the caller is in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Recorded message stating that people with at least $2500 in credit card debt could be helped obtain a better interest rate.

I hit "1" to speak to an agent. I asked for the company name and was told "Cardholder Serves" and that they work with the card companies.

I nicely told the agent I did not like recorded calls and wanted to be removed from their list (this is the second time), and as I was speaking he disconnected (hung up?).

I've received calls from this number twice. It was a recording offering a lower rate for my credit card. You are asked to press "1" to talk to an agent, or press "3" to have your number removed. The first time I received this call, I hit '3' so they would stop bothering me. A month later, (today) I received another call. This time I pressed "1" to talk to an agent. When I asked where they were located, they asked if I wanted a lower rate or not. I asked again, "where are you located?" He said, 'hold on' a few seconds passed and the call was disconnected. I smell a phony scam!!

Spiel by recorded male offering lower CC interest for about a minute prompted me to press '1' for human or two for removal. I pressed '1' to inform them of violatuion of the "Do Not Call Act." White female, upper 30' to early 40's with post-maternal husk in her voice responded. After informing her of my intent to file a complaint, she rejected these claims and eventually hung up on me within 30 seconds after offering a condescending "Good bye."

I answered phone to hear a recorded message that our accounts were ok but they wanted to lower our interest on credit card. We do not have credit cards! We are on the Do not call list...I pushed 1 on the dail to speak with a "live" person and then politely informed that person I have asked 3 times to be removed from the list and they keep calling. At least once a month. I asked to speak with a supervisor (again) who is never there. They hung up on me. I turned them in. But after reading all ot these post, whats the point. The FTC isn't doing anything to them. We should all contact local tv stations about this. And, on July 1, 10am central time, we should all call them to lock up their phone system.

Just like Rob said...I too got a call from 954-689-7681 on the June 15th at 9 A.M, then at 1:30 p.m. got a call from 998-217-2520. I didn't recognize either phone number,so I didn't answer. They both hung up on my machine. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same person. Back in January I had a man & woman with Indian accents calling me just about every day saying they were from Sprint. When I called the number back that showed up on my called ID, it said # was disconnected. I reported it to FCC, FTC & Attorney General. They told me it was an identity thief that was spoofing the Caller ID. I am tired of all these types of calls. I must be on all the thieves lists!

There are no problems with your account however it is urgent that you contact us concerning your ellgiability for lowering your interest rate to as little as 6.9%. To qualify you must be at least $2500 in debt. Our new program is designed to get you out of debt fast and hassel free. Your ellgiablity expires shortly so please consider this your final notice.Hit 1 to speak to a live operator or press 3 to discontinue this notification. I have registered my phone number on the Don't call list but it is like people are still getting through. I get this call at least 2 times a week and I have never answered it or called it back.

A recording from Jonathan from Credit Card Services about my credit cards. There is nothing wrong with my account now but my chance to get a low rate is expiring soon. I pressed "1" to speak to an operator, who sounded like she was about 9 years old and spoke ridiculously fast in a heavy accent I didn't recognize. I told her that I've told them before not to call me (which I have) and that I'm reporting them. She hung up. I wonder if there's any point in talking to them, or if it just makes it worse. Will report to the DNC list.
As terrible as these calls are, I only get one a week or fewer now. Before the DNC, there were several every day. But I agree that they ARE becoming more and more frequent, and I'm sure it's true that they're not enforcing the law as well as they should be.

I basically know how companies like this work. When you go shopping or inside of a department store (for example: Marshalls) and they ask you for your phone number (& you provide it), this is how companies like this get your phone number. Whether you are on the do not call registry or not (b/c you basically volunteered this info). These automated services call you not the actual representatives, so they actually do not have your phone number at all. On their end on the phone, it actually looks like you were the one that called them instead of the automated service. Option number 2 to remove your number basically does not work so don't waste your time. You can remove your number by immediately telling the representative to remove your number from the do not call log but you will have to provide it and it will be removed in about 2-3 days. It's just like e-mail spam, if you just delete it you'll have more in your inbox the next day but if you unsubscribe from their site they stop after a few days. Take it from an insider trust me it works, hanging up does not help the automated service just calls you back at a later date. Try not to be so mean these people are just doing their jobs, which is not fun in the first place. They basically mislead us about the content, pay and requirements of the job and that's why I will be quitting and looking for another by the end of the week and reporting them to the BBB and department of Labor
Have a nice day

Phone call begin with a ecording. From this opening message, about offering a lower rate on my credit card. I told her I did not appreciate the credit card giving her the authority to offer a lower rate and that I would call them myself direct. I ask her for those last 4 numbers of the card and said she was not allowed to give the information out. She hung up. I did call this number back and got a this line has been disconectecd. Beware, I called my credit card company and they said they did not have any knowlege of anyone from their company calling me.

Just got a call from these jokers. To Dealer servicers it doesn't matter if your on the Do Not Call List because you've been "pre-Selected". How sweet of the number that shows up on the Caller ID is no longer in service.

I hit "1" to talk to the agent, I asked the name of the company, and the lady said "something" Account Services, I asked her again & she just said "Account Services". I asked where the company was located & she said "Georgia" I then told her that our number was on the DO NOT CALL list & she went silent, no response. So I just hung up. I looked up the number & it is a FLORIDA area code, not Georgia like she said.

I pushed (1) to speak with a account Rep. I asked what the company name was & she said something that I didn't understand, so I asked again & she said "Account Services" She said that WAS the name of the company. I asked where the company was located and she said Georgia. I tild her our # was on the DO NOT CALL list & not to call again. No response from her so I just hung up.

This is the third time I've gotten a call from "Card Services." Each time I've pressed the number to remove my number from the list, and apparently it isn't working.

I've recieved calls from this "company" before. The last time, it was from what I -thought- was area code 529, with a phone number that was too long. However, I figured out that it ACTUALLY came from area code 998 in COUNTRY code 52. The call came from Cancun, Mexico! Today I got a call from Cardholder Services (aka Cardholder Svcs) from the number we're talking about here, but earlier in the day I got a call from "Cancun Travel Unlimited", form a number in Cancun. The thing is, both calls start with a recording asking you to press a specific number to talk to a representative, and both numbers have callers who hang up on you when you ask to speak with their supervisor. I've never had any problem getting an ACTUAL telemarketer to hand me over to their supervisor, because: 1) Telemarketers are paid for results, talking to someone who just wants to bitch is a waste of their time. 2) Letting someone who is pissed off bitch at your boss is it's own reward.
