I disagree with Jones in terms of your options. Blocking and ignoring collection calls from a known lawbreaker is a great way to throw away your rights. A high volume collector like PRA almost can't help but hand you FDCPA violations you may turn against it.

Oh, and there IS a huge point in trying to collect past SoL. All these agencies need is one payment toward an otherwise dormant account and the SoL shot clock is restarted, which is precisely the goal. This is why it's so critical when these calls arrive not to argue or admit liability, and to turn information flow in one direction, from the collector to you.

Worse collection agency in the business. They call at all hours and days for debts that are WAYYY past the statute of limitations with respect to being able to sue. For example in my state of TX, if a creditor has not sued to collect a debt within 4 years, they legally cannot do so, thus there is no point for companies like PRA to harass those persons. Here is a list of other phone numbers these clowns use to contact people. If you put all of these in a contact and label it Bill Collector, you can just ignore them.

Sending cease and desist legal notices does not work! File a complaint with your State's Attorney General, along with documented times/dates of calls or contact. You can also file complaints at FTC.gov but don't expect a reply from them.
Contacting your State Representatives to request new law enactment against these "loop holers" is the only way to prosecute them for their actions. (State of Missouri has already done so).
Contacting them will only provide proof that you are indeed their target debt holder, even if it was "charged off" years ago.
Be proactive and push for laws against them in your State. The old ones allow them to continue their harassment.
DON'T TALK TO THEM!!!

Rather than get lost among links to cowboy law firms and other unreliable informants, I suggest starting with the FDCPA source:

Criminal company that deals in zombie debt and violates federal law. This company has been sued several times and lost due to its illegal practices. Google " FDCPA and your sate " to find resources to deal with this place.
