They seem to be calling now every day
Follow-up to my previous message: Charity Navigator just barely rates the March of Dimes two stars out of four. More than one third of all the money they raise through fundraising remains in-house as administrative and fundraising expenses.
March of Dimes, calling to ask me to do their soliciting for them. They will mail me the envelopes, and I am to distribute them on my street, and collect the responses to return to them.
I told them I'd done this before, and ended up with little more than a bunch of angry neighbors, and would never do it again. Then I told them to remove me from their calling list, and hung up before the caller could try to browbeat me any further.
Dinnertime solicitation in violation of No Call list.

Received call from 914-294-4086
Blocked that number and they then
called on 914-294-2431. MOD has over 30 different telephone numbers.
Found a home phone that can block over 250 telephone numbers or can
block an entire telephone exchange. GREAT
Just received a call from this number---they wanted to speak to my Mother (requested her by name). He asked if she was available, I said yes they could reach her in Heaven. She died in 2010. He said sorry and hung up. They called last year too for Mom, I told the woman she had died...do they not write any
They have called every morning for over a week.
Get calls morning to night from these people. I will not give another cent to this charity. Had enough of the robo calls as soon as phone rings, push answer and hang up immediately. Sometimes they clog up answering machine. Very, very annoying.
Had Enough Nov 27th, 2013
People SAY this is the March of Dimes, but IS IT, really? OR just a SCAMMER? This number called this AM, the FIFTH CALL from Caller ID "MOD" in just five days. I've BLOCKED their other two numbers so far, 914-294-4088
but I understand they have DOZENS of numbers they HARASS people with and THEY WILL NOT TAKE "NO" for an answer. I will be blocking THIS number, too, but I wonder when this 'game' is gonna stop. This caller, WHOMEVER they are, will NEVER GET ONE RED CENT FROM US, now or EVER in the future. And if that's "March of Dimes", SO BE IT. Maybe they'll eventually LEARN not to TELETERRORIZE people.
FIFTH call from them in FIVE DAYS. TWO calls on the first day; then two more; all from 914-294-2431
, with "MOD" displayed on Caller ID. We BLOCKED this number, so YESTERDAY (a ~SUNDAY~, **SHAME** ON THEM) when they called, their call was intercepted by our blocking system and a message played to THEM:
"The number you have reached will *NOT* accept your call!"
So, today, they called with THIS number (4088) (and "MOD" displayed on Caller ID) at EXACTLY 9:00AM, which is 'legal' (JUST Barely) but REALLY ROTTEN. ***AWOKE A SLEEPING CANCER PATIENT.*** What about "WE WILL *NOT* ACCEPT YOUR CALL" (on TOP of being on the DNC LIST) DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND???
I have put in COMPLAINTS with both the DNC List AND THEIR (March of Dimes) OFFICIAL WEBSITES.
This is a VOIP phone number. They are criminals working out of Europe using a server in NY. They are Not March of Dimes. Unfortunately people answer these calls. Never answer calls from unknown callers. It is the times we live in. Criminals trying to still your cc card information. It is illegal but with corrupt greedy politicians this is what we accept as normal in our society today. Hopefully the people can get legislation to pass laws that requires phone companies to give users free call blocking. The phone companies and IP providers who control are law makers make money on each call. The calls will continue for that reason.
This number is voip number. The number they are calling from is passing through New York to Europe. The 941 number is from Bradenton, FL. These people are obviously criminals hiding their location and true identity. The NSA knows who they are maybe they could use the technology to arrest these people. They most likely change the number per the region they are attacking. You can report these crooks they are not who they say they are. They are known criminals on the web.
Mostly likely criminals trying to get cc numbers acting as March of Dimes. Very common in Florida. The caller is marked private which against the law(federal) since Dec 2010, so you know it is a criminal. Why hide your charity name unless you are trying not to be traced.
They call several times a day starting at 8:15 am and they do not leave any messages.
This is supposedly the March of Dimes (MOD). To stop their calls, call the number, press 1 then press 3. Enter your phone #. I found this info on another unwanted call site and tried it today. After entering my #, there was a message that basically said that by law, they have 30 days to remove my number, but they will try and do it in "the next couple of days." We'll see!
so called "charities" who robocall all hours of the day and night every single day for weeks/months don't seem to get that they aren't going to extract a single cent out of the people they harass. one of the few reasons we keep our "landline" is so these fools don't start attacking our cellphones...
Another call from the MOD! ENOUGH!! I get sometimes up to 6 calls a day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. I have repeatedly told them NO!! Now I don't answer. I did a mail campaign for them about 5 yrs ago. 3 months later they called me to do another! I said absolutely NO!! I will not harass my neighbors. I have since heard they are called the March of "DIMES" because they only actually donate 10 cents of every dollar to research. The rest lines the pockets of the CEO's. Not a good charity in my opinion.
Tis the season for harassing calls from "charities" that may or may not be who they say. Got another moments later from the Shriners. Very aggressive. Soo I used my selective call forwarding feature and when one calls, the call is forwarded to the other.
They called at 8:36am and I didn't answer. Also got another call from 866-479-0713
this afternoon and they are March of Dimes. Trust me we will not contribute to them. They also have us on their mailing list so we get their mail too.
Every year they start calling!!!March of Dimes!!! they called EARLY in the AM!!!!!if you block them they just switch to another number, last year we blocked eight numbers from them!!!!This is no way to work a charity!!They've turned into cheap telemarketers!!!
March of Dimes calls on many different numbers and doesn't give up. They rang at 8:14 this morning and woke us up. I am not happy.
MOD called and hung up on my elderly mother. Shes always getting scam calls trying to get her bank account numbers etc. This I am sure is just another. Will block it
It might actually be the March of Dimes, but don't count on it. Don't respond to people who call you. Only donate to groups YOU contact. Real charities have real websites and are easy to find on-line.
It's the March of Dimes; they're not constrained by the Do Not Call list, as they're a legitimate charity. Just answer and tell them to remove you from their list; if they don't, they can be in big trouble.
