Abusive and rude! Called me twice at 6AM! Stated it was 6 am, he claimed he thought to be calling a different state. Instead of apologizing, he was rude and screaming over me so i could barely get a word in ! He kept repeating, whats your address?? First off,you didnt even identify YOURself nor did you verify who i was, or why you wrwere calling!why would i tell you my address much less anything else when you call x2 at 6am, then yell at me when i state thats not legal. also was trying to inform him of my recent disability over the last year and filing of bankruptcy but he just kept yelling over me. so i called him a mutha f-er and hung up because i dont need that crap and i can be just as immature as him. no name obviously because he wouldn't let me speak.
what is wrong w these people? i understand you have a job, but arent you just as human as me??? i bet you havent been battling an illness for the last 15 yrs and still managed to go to school, obtain a masters in science and then come to realize that Sallie Mae is nothing but criminals thenselves. also abusive. i got ill needed to go on leave and those assholes wouldnt help me postpone or delay payments at all since my forbearance had been used up. so, the late fees and interest just kept piling up. then when i could set up a pay plan, they would take my money then call back and say that my pay plan was rejected by management. wtf! you guys are nothing short but criminals and you need a good govt reality check because you are the real problem of this economic collapse! you pushed all the middle class down under, falling so far in debt needing to file bankruptcy! thanks! so...not blaming you for my debts, but the lack of opportunity to settle it and make reasonable payments without falling behind, you make it impossible! so fuck you...default me and will make a complaint with the ADA for lack of help with people w disabilities, the FTC for not following the laws, and hopefully you will settle with my lawyer in the court of law for bankruptcy so i can move on w my life!!!! you guys should be sued and shut down! and all of your reps should be ashamed of yourselves, you are part of the problem not the solution at all! what kind of values, mission do you have at work anyways? how many people can you get to want to hang themselves? debt isnt fun, you make it worse! and then harassment of family and friends too! dont you think if my family could pay my bills, i would have never needed a loan for school in the first place!

was a very rude person claiming to be a collector. This person threatened to throw my son in jail, take all of his paychecks and any other belongings he had if he didn't pay up by 5 PM this evening. Sounds more like a scam artist and a bully that needs to be straightened out legally.
If Sallie Mae really hires thugs to do this type of dirty work, the system is broke and so are the people they are threatening.
Lost jobs, low pay and a person who's been paying his debt for about 8 months now, without missing a payment on time. Now a thug comes in and threatens the person who was given a payment schedule and says that the schedule has changed and it's due now!
This has to be a scam artist, can anyone verify this?

This company has my personal cell phone number and my work phone number, which they should not be able to obtain. I do not owe anyone anything except for my current creditors so no one should even have a reason to try to call me from any collection agency. How did they get my person information and How do I stop this?

They called looking for my stepdaughter, They used her previous name by marriage. They are not very smart, the town she is living in is near them, but she is married to someone else now. I'm not paying her debt, whatever it is, if they are that stupid. How did they get my name and number, unless she used it for reference.
This person is calling my husband's cell phone (which is his business number) and they are trying to get information about our adult son. How do we stop this harassment?

This number has called me twice today. I don't have a landline, so they are coming to my cell phone.
Skip tracing is perhaps an "interesting tactic", "kaljon". I would call it tiresome the way it is often practiced. The idea is to gather intel from family and peers if the call target cannot be easily found. Many collectors who already have valid contact data for the alleged debtor pester those people anyway, as a vile means of creating false urgency and anxiety.
If the CCS message actually said "settle an account" or something clearly discussing a debt, that is a privacy violation your Ex might sue over. You meanwhile have no obligation to speak with or help the collectors. Should they persist with you, that could make a violation for your end. If you send a written cease-comm that is broken, that is just begging for a lawsuit.
All: If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the Federal law which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.
Got a call from 904-562-6655 today. The message stated they were a debt collection company and wanted to settle an account belonging to my ex-girlfriend. She and I never had joint accounts, so I'm a bit puzzled why they would call me or how they got my phone number. If I had to guess, I would say they acquired her phone records and are calling the numbers in order to get a message to her. Interesting tactic.
Has called twice a day_per day. tends to call wrong numbers looks for others

They have called over and over but never leave a message. My husband and I will be changing our phone number soon to make it stop.
I have been receiving phone calls, to my new phone number that was recycled too soon, to collect debt from the previous account holder. I have been promised that my number would be taken off their list, twice, yet they have called me five times in the past 21 days.
Victor (?) left us a voicemail, asked for me and my husband by name, saying it was regarding a personal matter not a collection service. The funny thing is, there is nothing in mine & my husbands name, it's either one or the other so it can't be a collection agency...and we have no "personal" matters regarding anything. Have no clue who or what this is about. They left an 800# or 866# to call back. I have no intention of returning their call. Let's see if they stalk us.

They keep calling though they said they removed our number from their system as a wrong number.
This is a collection agency or maybe a scammer. Either way, they are using illegal practices. Do NOT give them personal info. IF you owe money to who they claim, request verification of the debt in writing. If they are legit, they are REQUIRED to send you written notice within 2 weeks of their 1st call.
This is a real dirt-bag collection agency. Do not return their call.

I just got a call today. She was alleging that i owe $2,000 from a visa account and was mentioning that it was c/o WAMU. Funny thing is i never had an account at WAMU. After i told her i never had an account, she later on went on telling me about another visa account. I just let her talk. I the first name was right but when i asked for the person's last name, it's not mine. I even asked for the birthdate and SSN - ALL WRONG. I guess, they are just fishing for information...don't give them anything just let them talk. The call ended telling her i am not the right person. Any way we can block this number from calling us...
I asked this # to stop calling & warned this person to stop & over & over I don't know what to do anymore.......... 973-979-5442
Caller was trying to locate next door neighbor. Wanted to know if person still lived there and if I would deliver a message. Advised him because of Privacy Laws I was not able to give out any information.

This is a debt collection service. They are calling my number- don't want me but won't quite calling.
Hes called my number about 30 times. each time i tell him i am unrelated to the person he is looking for, which i am. he calls back. almost daily.
Call saying I own on an account that was paid off over 5 years ago. I have even provided them with documents proving the account was paid off through another collection agenc and they said the "correct forms" were never sent in and I need to send those in. I have told them to stop calling and they won't. I'm about to have a lawyer friend sue for harrassment.
Trying to collect on an account for someone with a similar name. Just ask to verify the details of the account they are alledgedly calling about -- names on account, address on account, date of birth, etc. Just don't give any of your information.

A reall asshole, looking for someone I never heard of. I've had my phone number since 1990. Abusive. I abused him back - best way to get rid of people like this. Be obscene as possible, call them names, if applicable be rascist, be their worst nightmare. They write this on a computer screen and will stop calling.

Wanted to get a message to my ex-wife. She hasn't lived with me since 1994. I told them she doesn't live here but I would deliver a message when I spoke with her. Caller asked when was the last ime I spoke with her - told her Christmas. She asked me to take her name and number down and pass it along to her and then stated she would remove my number from their records. She was very polite and courteous.
Caller was hostile and aggressive when informed that this number no longer belongs to Giovanni Martinez, the person he was looking for. He indicated his refusal to remove my number from his call list by saying: I need to? I! need to?!
