when they leave message they never say who they are looking for but leave a ref #. i have also had calls from them for someone else and tell them that person is not here has never lived here and so on and so on they say they will take our # off but then they keep calling after a few days.
email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
I receive an e-mail with this phone number attached. It says:
If you have a phone and can return some calls each day to simply share some
information with others we want to hear from you as it is possible to generate
upwards of 3500 weekly, daily is even possible.
You could receive the first Fedex envelope of cash in 48hrs
Here's the email address it came from: Monte Thompson I haven't tried emailing it yet, so the email address could actually be fake but if its not maybe phone calls and emails will get them to stop!
Is This Happening To You?
On behalf of those who have previously retained us, the law firm of Fineberg Gresham is investigating complaints from consumers being harassed with calls and text messages to their cell phones. If you have received calls or text messages to your cell phone by telemarketers or others who did not have your express permission to contact your cell phone or wish to report any complaints regarding this practice, http://www.stoptelemarketingabuse.com/contact.html. (this will send an email to our office). We are gathering factual information to determine the nature, extent and scope of the problem for those who have retained our law firm. All messages will be held confidential.
What Can You Do to Assist in Our Investigation?
If you have been the victim of this telemarketing abuse, preserve all facts and evidence of the unwanted calls or texts. Save the message. Most voicemail services only store messages for a few days or weeks. As a result, record the message in another place so that you have it. Save your phone bills which show when the call or text was received. Keep all evidence of the harassing calls or text messages.
Problem: Telemarketing Abuse
Consumers pay for calls and text messages received on their cell phones. More than ever, consumers are being harassed on their cell phones by telemarketers and businesses trying to sell goods or services. Unfortunately, these calls and text messages result in charges or a reduction in the consumers
Skyped this number - got an announcer "Thank you for calling Sprint...", so if Sprint says it's not them, it's probably one of their telespamming affiliates.
PISS OFF AND GET A LIFE SHIT FACE
called a third time today.
Just got off the phone with Sprint. They do not know who this # belongs to, and it doesn't show on their comp who it is. I'm in TX, they gave me the DNC in TX for cell phones 866-896-6225
) or go to There is a $2.25 charge if you do it over the phone. Free if you do it online.
These jokers (cardholders services) have been calling me for several months now. No number or ID shows up on their incoming call. To this point I always just hung up or hit the take me off your the lest. A few days ago, feed up with the calls I hit 9 and was greeted with “are you ready for lower credit card rates”. When I said I want to talk to someone about getting you to stop calling me, I was hung up on instantly. I then checked out the net and found out it was a scam. I turned them in to the Louisiana attorney generals off and to the DNC, which I have been registered with since 05/03/2005. I also sent the info and some of the links from the net to a local TV and radio station in New Orleans near me.
Called the 1-888-760-2478
number below. They asked for my acount passcode when I refused they were transfering me to customer service and I was "disconnected". I then sent the e-mail to the customer service e-mail below. Good luck
If you have already been registered on the DNC list @ Federal Trade Commision over 30 days, and feel the calling party is violating the FTC policy, file a complaint by going to http://www.ftc.gov/donotcall/
select the complaint option on the left menu. If the company you file on can not show they have a proper reason (no telemarketing), they get to pay a court around $5000 per offense.
This would not affect companies you have done business with in the last calender year.
You can place your cell phone number on the National Do Not Call list. Cell phone numbers are now fair game to tele-marketers
I'm from the UK and they're calling me! I've never answered as I'm generally at work when the calls come in.
Usually I get the caller ID "INTERNAT" which i assume means international... but today the number showed up, so I can assume it's always been them. Generally I get 1 or 2 calls daily from INTERNAT, and have done for about a year.
i put myself on the DNC list and the calls still keep on coming. it is amazing that SPRINT would do this to good customers. i have paid on time for 7 years...why do companies do this lowbrow shit?
I have been a customer for 7 years and now i am getting calls from this sprint promotional number 2x a day for 3 weeks....and then they hang up when i answer. why piss off a good customer?????? management at sprint must be idiots!
I keep getting calls from the American Breast Cancer Ass0c. 877-246-9366
my zip 85614
I was busy at work so I didn't answer the call. They didn't leave a message, and when I try to call the number back I get a busy signal. I did pre order WoW: Burning Crusade at Electronics ETC. but it not even close to the 16th yet.
When I call the number back, they say to hold the line for a representative. THen no one gets on the line. Also at the beginning of the message they say they are from simple.net??
Why, i am asking why all this happens and happens
Qawer Ungu Dec 28th, 2006
They couldn't hear me, it sounded as though their connection was really bad, but it sounded like it was a telemarketing call and they kept asking for me by name, but couldn't hear me when I responded. So I hung up.
There will be a rain dance Friday, weather permitting.
To opt out from these calls, both from 3010 and 3021, call 888-760-2478
. I just did it after 5 calls in 4 days from rude sales folx!!
Yes the callers are bad but.... Sorry Kelly, your husband isn't very smart if he fell for this one.
I had the problem a few months ago with the other number 888-760-2478
) and had it finally stopped and today the 866-463-3020 number showed up on my caller id. It appears if you stop one number they will just call from another number. Mike's idea of calling the BBB seams a good idea.
Date of calls: Aug. 1,2,9,14 of 06. Caller ID: "Unavailable" I don't answer and let the voicemail get it if I don't recognize the number.

Good news! I've found a way to fight back. I found the listing for the companies directors. Let's spam the crap out of them until they stop doing this. Tell them you will keep emailing them until your number is removed. Thats what I intend to do. I called their office and through some sneakiness got their email name format. So enjoy! FIGHT BACK!!!!!

I got a call on my cell phone from this number too! This is highly illegal and could result in some sort of class action lawsuit. I had to do a tollfree phone number search on this at http://www.phonesearchcentral.com to figure out which company this is. I really should forward the info to a lawyer, but as it stands right now I can't really afford one over this.
Anyone out there have the financial clout to get the ball rolling on this?
This phone number has called me every hour for the past week. The lady (Julia) when we called back gave us a bogus number to call with a complaint. They will not take us off the list even though we have called them back every time asking, then demanding they do.
Good work. Interesting posts, besides those spam...

I have just received my first phone call from 866-463-3020 today. A few months back, I was receiving multiple calls from 888-760-2478
and had to call Sprint Customer Service multiple times to make them stop - now I'm getting calls from this number. I have a Sprint cell phone and have already requested that my account be flagged so that I will receive no marketing calls - evidently, it only works for a short while and then they start calling with a new number.
Just called today and I called sprint, they said they don't know who it is.
The caller didn't give a name, but knew my first and last name. Told me they could give me a free phone, I said no, and they hung up.
Today I got a postcard from Sprint that tells you how to opt out of these annoying calls! Finally!
The number is:
I've been getting calls from that number for the last 2 mionths, last night being the most recent. No one is on the line half the time - the other times Sprint is trying to get me to buy their service. I have Nextel, until I cancel them in the coming weeks.

I used to work for some people who run this company- they are crooks..they took our wages and left town...anything that has to do with Buzz Stitzer and John Skrownek... is never good.
the do-not-call list is especially made so that you won't receive any calls from any company with which you have no business relationship with. you are receiving these calls because you are sprint subscribers.
This number is related to the number 888-760-2478

Please file a complaint with the DNC, FCC, and Better Business Beureas.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Jennifer Walsh Kiefer of Sprint Nextel Public Affairs is out of the office until after labor day. So, please feel free to contact her personal number at 816-305-7795
. I'm sure she won't mind. After all, we certainly don't mind recieving phone calls from her company on our private time.
I have started to receive the new number as well. The 866-463-3020
. Same message, same indefinite hold time. For those of you who have complained to the DNC and the FCC, please also submit a complaint to the Committee of Better Business Bureaus. They have far more power then us and our emails to Sprint customer service. What Sprint did was unethical, and the public needs to know. The website is:
I've written a complaint to Sprint/Nextel public affairs and encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. Her reply was.
"Thank you for your message. The 800 number you referenced is a number that Sprint had been using for some outreach to customers and we are eliminating the number in the course of improving our processes. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your input.

The next day (today) I recieved a call from 866-463-3020
that was identical to the 888 issue we are all here for.
If enough people write to Jennifer.R.Walsh@sprint.com It will be taken care of on a more timely basis.
Started getting calls from the other number 888-760-2478
) less than a week ago, this is my first from this one. I have yet to answer it. Already complained to sprint and threatened to change carriers and I was informed that Sprint is "working on it". Whatever.
I "Googled" the number and found this website. I wish all customer service related issues had a website like this. Thanks to links provided here in other's comments, I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry (since my cell is registered) and with the FCC.
Luckily I never answered the call...I am forwarding the email to all of my fellow Sprint users.
Now if we could only get a website like this for complaints against Travelocity!
this number came up on my cellphone. I didn't answer and no one left a message. This was my first call.
I send Sprint an email threatening my business with them if I received one more call from them (which I did receive my 3rd, last night). Here's my email>>
I receieved a phone call on my cell from the following number:
888-760-2478, and when I googled it - it brought up this website -
http://whocalled.us/lookup/8887602478. This site is full of information
regarding this number as being telemarketers from your company - or someone you
sold information to. I have been registered with the do not call list since it's
beginning. If I receive one more phone call from this number, I am switching
carriers. My contract expires in 2 days, so I won't hesitate to do it. Please
investigate this number.
Here's their reply>>
Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I will be happy to assist
you regarding the call you have received.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to the call you received
from the phone number 888-760-2478.
This call is from the Telesales department of Outbound Campaigns under Sprint
Sales. This is a known issue and the respective Vendors are looking into it.
With this, I assure you that this issue will be resolved soon. We appreciate
your co-operation in this matter.
Please feel free to write back if you have any further questions. I will be
more than happy to assist you.
Have a great day.
Sprint together with Nextel
"Where our customers come first!"
Telemarketing companies have to have your permission to call you. So it couldn't hurt to file a complaint with the FCC. They may not be able to do anything if the outsourced company is overseas, but they can harass Sprint.
I don't have anything to add. Sprint blocked my cell from recieving promotional advertising from them. But this has had no affect on an outsourced company. Sprint better get its act together.
they're calling my cell during business hours now.
I've been on a direct do-not-call list with Sprint and registered with the national do-not-call registry for well over a year yet still recieve calls like this one. Does the National D-N-C Registry actually do ANYTHING? Ever? Thats our .gov hard at work.
I just got my first call from this number last night, luckily I didn't hear my phone ring. No message was left. Unfortunetly for Sprint, my contract is up on the 1st of September - if I continue to get these calls, they can say bye bye to my business.
I too have been receiving these annoying calls. After logging on to my account at sprintpcs.com and trying to find somewhere that I could indicate my preference NOT TO RECEIVE promotional/telemarketing calls from Sprint/Nextel, I found nothing. I then looked through all the numbers and contact info on the Sprint pcs website for a phone number where I could actually speak to a live person to help me with this problem. Yippee skippee, I found an 800 number (or press *2 on your Sprint pcs phone). At first the representative was nice...until I told her that I wanted these calls to stop...and she said her supervisor told her that I have to call the 888 number and request they remove me from their calling list. She insisted that Sprint cannot block calls to my phone from this number and she further insisted there was no possibility of setting my "preference" to not receive promotional calls. She began running her mouth wildly, speaking over me, not listening to anything I was saying. What an asswipe this chick was. Oh no she di'int. Oh yes she did! So now I have to try to call these buttholes at the 888 number and see if I can reach anyone who speaks and/or understands english and tell them to stop calling me! You can be sure I am looking into changing to another cellular provider after tonite's experience. I've had phone service with Sprint PCS for over ten years and have never ever had to call them about anything. To be treated like that from some stupid mouthy CSR who probably won't be there more than 2 weeks anyway, is just wrong. Thanks for letting me vent.
Called at 12:01pm and 8:14pm on 29 August and 3:59pm 28 August.
They have also been calling me twice a day. Got one on the phone...never able to complete the call (Thank goodness) irregardless--I NEVER EVER do business over the phone, GIVE ANY sort of money or promise if I am called. IF I MAKE the call, then I will, because I know who I am calling. It was quite chilling to see how so many had been scammed.
Wish there was more we could do to prevent it.
they call like every morning, i never answer. i don't know who it is, but its annyoing. i just tried blocking it...
(888) 760-2478 called me at 10:44 am and again at 3:49 pm on 8-29-2006. I didn't answer eithr time.

Whenever you recieve a call in your cell phone that you do not recognize, DO NOT PICK IT UP!! That is my advice. I picked up the 888-760-2478 and they claimed to be with sprint but it is just a lie. I hate those people
Just got a call for the first time from this number today...
I didn't answer and no message left. I hope they don't call back.
I just got a call from this number.
The funny thing is she couldn't hear me. lol
I called back to see who it was, and it is sprint. If they harass me, I will change providers in 2 seconds.
Every once in awhile I get calls from this number, but I've never answered. It certainly seems like it could be Sprint, because they are my cell provider.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
They have called for the past 3 days. I have not answered.
These guys claimed to be sprint/nextel, it sounded shady and is obviously overseas. I looked them up online as a lady was on the phone with me, called her bluff, and she hung up.

I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. Only the number came up on caller ID. When I checked the call log it was listed as Unknown
They call about 1-2 times day. If I don't answer ~ which is often they either leave a message or say nothing. I usally call back BECAUSE IT WILL COST THEM when you return 888 numbers.

I just got a call from this number (23 Aug 2006, 12:11pm, No Name)on my Sprint cell phone her in San Antonio, TX (78232). I don't answer when I don't know who's calling, especially when they call on MY cell. Did a search online and found this database. Glad I did. Called it from a number at work where caller ID is uselss, and got a recording saying it was Sprint/Nextel, about exciting new offers for me. Uh huh. My next call is to Sprint.
The good news is apparently they will give up if you just ignore them. I haven't been bothered by them for over a week now.

They keep calling! Make it stop!
This number has called me twice in the last week. Today they called me at 1:50pm and their number 888-760-2478 appeared as the calling number. Please make these calls STOP.
This number has called my phone dailey for months I have not answered the phone and will not. I would really like for the calls to STOP. Thank you very much
Since all these people are suffering from same problem, why don't we all file a class action law suit to teach such companies to respect the public and the law?
I got tired of harrassing calls from this number everyday
They have called me twice so far on Saturday 8/19/06 and Monday 8/21/06 at 10:10 am. Calls come only on my Sprint cell phone.
Received 2 calls from number..first one on Saturday night at around 7:00..Did not answer.. Second time I was at work and picked up..no answer so hung up.. I have never had problem with Sprint in the 5 years that I have been customer...Hope it stops soon.
Just got 4 calls from this # w/in 5 minutes. The 1st 3 rang once then stopped. The 4th rang about 6-7 times then stopped. All calls came to our home # & not our nextel #'s. We do all of our service w/ nextel online. I don't answer any of these calls! It'd be different if the caller ID said sprint/nextel. Usually nextel calls one of our cells, not our home #. I will not take any calls from this #!!
Have gotten two calls from this number. I just hit end. Never a message. Contacted Sprint to request that they never contact me about sales or promotions. We'll see how that works.
They have called my cell phone 2 times. Never left a message, and i never answered. They called a week apart. I am also on the Do Not Call list.

I just decided to google the number to see who it was and if I knew them and came across this. I didnt answer the phone since I didnt know who it was but now I know. Thank you.
Same as everyone else, I don't answer, and they don't leave a message. They call every day just around the same time daily...
Got a call from this number and wasn't sure who it was so looked it up...
They just called my sprint pcs cell phone tonight 17 August 2006 6:37pm central time, no one would answer. I'm on the www.DoNotCall.gov list. I'm filing a complaint in just a minute.
Sprint sucks. I get daily calls from this number. No message and no one is there when I call back. Customer Service (LOL) says it'll take 1-2 months to fix it so this number can't call me.
I stupidly answered and no one spoke at first. Then someone finally said hello and then I hung up.
Within the hour I received 3 calls displaying no phone number and saying Private on the caller ID.
Got the call on my cell, said she was from sprint/nextel and then the lady asked for my wife. I told her she has reached her husbands cell phone. She then asked me for my wifes cell phone number. I told her "your sprint, you should know it" She stuttered and said ok thank you and hung up.
Rang my cell phone, left no message.
Karen Wall Aug 16th, 2006
they have called 8 times on my sprint phone - not leaving a message or saying anything.
I tried the *98 i am in LA it didn't work.
Yeah..I have been getting a call from this number for the past 5 days in a row..this most recent call was at 9 in the morning..and it really made me mad...I have never answered the call...I just ignore it..I am getting pretty tired of them calling...Can telemarketers even call cell phones? i didnt think they could...
I have now received two calls from this number. I haven't answered either time as I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. No message has been left. What is going on here? Usually my phone never rings unless it's someone I have given the number to.
