I did'nt know they would send in the cavalry I feel safer already 79106 how do you make a call using a zip code to id incoming how smart can a system be is there a school for that I guess I'll attempt a cease-comm letter before 2001 let me think I bet I could tell you what cavalry was using my identity back then If I think even harder I bet I could identify who is using my ID IN 2010 TOO.

Buckeye: Ten years?! Whatever account they are chasing must be uncollectable by now. If you don't know this Dennison you could have stopped the calls before 2001 just by sending a cease-comm letter, so send one already. There is no need to tolerate more useless skip tracing.

clw: "Robo-calls" for sales became illegal in September 2009 but debt collectors not violating FDCPA get a free pass from the FTC regardless of whether a human or machine places their calls.

Gwen: May I advise you and other newcomers these forums are strictly for call recipients to share their findings. They are NOT direct open channels to the phone bank boiler rooms we comment upon.

I had been taking a nap when the phone rang and saw that the number was 1-888-716-0010 showing that the number's Id was "Not Provided". My theory is if you can't show me who you are, I will not pick up the phone. Later when I was up, I noticed a message flashing on my answering machine; playing the message back, all there was for a message was, a male saying hello and repeating himself four times before hanging up.

If you run searches on any of these numbers, US Pharmacy or Nobi Lex (Nobilex) you will find who runs this scam. Nobi Lex is the company you send the money to for your bogus weightloss medication, zanex, pain pills etc. Nobi Lex is a fictious business name owned by Mario Wilmath and you can confirm this for yourself with the Secertary of State in FL Document number G081-029-00287. it's a public record and you can download it for yourself.

Owner of Nobilex - Mario Wilmath 920 NE 8th Ave Delray Beach Fl 33484 filed on 4/11/2008.

You can find more complaints about Nobilex and US Pharmacy on the following sites:

Ripoffreportlinksnotallowed
complaintwire.org
everycalllinks not allowed
whocallsmelinksnotallowed
whocalledlinks not allowed
800noteslinksnotallowed

and many many more all linked to US Pharmany operating as other names but the MONEY is sent to Nobi Lex owned by Mario Wilmath. All legally documented by the state of Florida.

Also the FCC federal communications commission has HUNDREDS of complaints filed in 2008 to current against US Pharmacy and Nobilex with associated phone numbers and more from the FL address.

this same person was also reported to own the 8664146289 number as also mentioned on the various sites and in the FCC complaints made to the government at the lake worth florida address.

check it all out for yourself and you'll see it's really very obvious who is taking all your money and running the telescam that harrasses you and your loved ones daily.

This is a call from a collection agency called Cavalry Portfolio Services, LLC - They mostly work for AT&T cell phones. They don't give up - They wanted money for a phone I purchased, I have sent them documentation stating that I returned said phone, as it would not work where I lived. Then after reading the documentation changed their story to they we calling because I broke the contract on the cell phone......this was over 7 yrs ago. I don't see that I have to pay for something that did not work...

They call but never leave a message. I don't answer or call back anything that comes up as "Not Provided" on the caller ID. A former neighbor of mine who never paid his bills had his phone service cut off for non-payment. He then gave out my number to be contacted. If these people are looking for James R. Watson, they can look for him in Watumka, Alabama as he left town owing virtually everyone, including me.

"Danielle" called from the 716 number and left a message saying that the office of Brady and Caruso is taking legal action against me in a lawsuit in my county. She left this as a call back #: 888-211-0010 x 316. I don't have any outstanding debt, and given what I have read about this phone number and "Brady and Caruso", this is some sort of scam trying to scare people into paying debts they may or may not even owe. Another site gave this information:

+_+_+_+
Hey folks – I got the call from the same people who obviously use several different names (Brady & Caruso, Abrams, Burke and Assoc, Marshall Ziolkowski enterprises, ING Island National Group and Kingman Cole). I learned that these people are doing highly illegal things. My husband called the FBI to report them because they are trying to collect money from unsuspecting people whether its true or not. They called me and threatened me to lien my mortgage, car, and other things and I laughed and said I don’t even own a house and my car was paid off years ago. The woman (called herself Ms. Johnson) was extremely rude and when I asked her who she represented, she wouldn’t even give me that information. I just happened to call back the number on the caller ID and sweet talked the person who answered for the name. If you get called from ANY of these people, call the BBB in both your state and NY, the Federal Trade Commission, State Bar in NY, FBI as well as the States Attorney General in both states. I have combined all the information I could possible find for you. Good luck and don’t give up. They should be locked up!!!! Here are the three address’ so you can send those letters to all of them:

THIS IS FROM THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

Industry TipsBack To Top s may not use false statements when collecting a debt. For example, they cannot:
* falsely imply they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely imply you have committed a crime;
* falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit bureau;
* misrepresent the amount of your debt;
* misrepresent the involvement of an attorney in collecting a debt;
* indicate that papers being sent to you are not legal forms when they are;
* give false credit information about you to anyone;
* send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency when it is not; * use a false name.

Law Violations
If you believe a debt collector has violated the law, you may sue in state or federal court within one year from the date of the possible violation. If you win, you may recover money for damages you suffered, including court costs and attorney's fees. L05Debt Collection

The following is BBB general information and is not intended as a report on any specific company.

If you experience problems with a collection agency, it's important to know your rights. There are two types of debt collectors: creditors, to whom you owe money directly, and third party collectors, which collect on behalf of companies. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, creditors and third party collectors may NOT:
* use false, deceptive, or misleading representations or means;
* harass, oppress, or abuse any person while seeking payment;
* use any false statements or engage in unfair practices.

The Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission offer the following information on fair collection practices.

Contact

Debt collectors may not contact you before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless you agree to alternative times. They may contact you in person, by mail, telephone, telegram, or fax; however, they may NOT contact you by postcard. Collectors also may not contact you at work if they know your employer disapproves. You may stop a collector from contacting you by writing a letter to the agency telling them to stop. Once the agency receives your letter, it may not contact you again except to say there will be no further contact, or to notify you if they intend to take a specific action.

If you have an attorney, debt collectors may not contact anyone other than your attorney once you've provided the attorney's information. If you do not have an attorney, collectors may contact other people, but only to find out where you live and work. In most case, collectors may not contact such permissible parties more than once and cannot reveal to anyone other than you or your attorney that you owe money.

Within five days after you are first contacted, collectors must send a written notice telling you the amount of money you owe, the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and what action to take if you believe you do not owe the money. If you believe the company contacted you in error, you must write to them within 30 days after the initial contact; upon receipt of your letter, the company must cease collection activities. However, if the company can provide proof of the debt such as a copy of a bill for the amount owed, the company may renew collection proceedings.

Prohibited Practices

Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices while attempting to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
* use threats of violence or harm against the person, property, or reputation;
* publish a list of consumers who refuse to pay their debts (except to a credit bureau);
* use obscene or profane language;
* use phone calls to repeatedly harass you;
* fail to identify themselves on the telephone;
* advertise your debt;
* threaten arrest if you do not pay your debt;
* say they will seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages, unless the collection agency or creditor intends to do so, and it is legal to do so;
* indicate that actions such as a lawsuit will be taken against you, which legally may not be taken, or which they do not intend to take;
* collect any amount greater than your debt, unless allowed by law;
* deposit a post-dated check prematurely.

They are a collection agency, if you do not owe them or someone they represent good luck in getting them to stop calling. I owe no one anything but they call me at least 10 times a week most every week asking for someone else. I have told then several times that they are calling the wrong number but they do not stop calling.
Now IF YOU DO OWE someone money, no matter how old the bill is or the amount, copy the letter below and send it to them. Once they get the letter they can no longer call you. you should also check you credit info to make sure they have not placed something on your record.

I called the number back, after dialing *67, and a woman answered the phone, "Calvary". I asked her who she was, and then she asked me if I was someone who I am not; she even repeated my number back to me, so she was able to discern my number, even after I supposedly blocked it when dialing! I told her that I no noone with that name, and she said she would have my number removed from file. We will see!

This number calls off and on about every few days or so. It always says "Not Provided". They never leave a message either. If it is Calvary, I'm not surprised. They sent info about a debt collection a long time ago, but that was the communication from them where they actually identified themselves. I think it had something to do with a phone service or cell phone provider of my fiance's from several years ago.

Calvary Portfolio Services may be a new name for the former Portfolio Recovery Associations and/or is the form to whom Portfolio sells off what it can't collect. Among other things, this include former Providian credit card accounts (which was sold to WaMu (Washington Mutual), which, of course, is now part of JPMorganChase (ChaseBank being the people behind the Diners Club Card), as well as AT&T and SBC/Yahoo accounts. ALL of them engage in fraudulent credit granting and collection practices.

The recording says that if you are the person to press "1". If you are not the person, but the person lives in the household, to press "2" and if you don't know the person, to call their 800 number. There is no other way to stop the calls. I am not calling the number. I don't want my phone number or name showing up on their caller ID or I'll get sucked into their scam.

Ask your phone company if they have a service called "selective call rejection", mine has this and you can add up to 12 numbers that will automatically be rejected when a call comes to your line from numbers that you have programmed in. The caller will hear a message and your phone will not even ring. If the same collector calls from a different line, when you confirm it is them, add that line to your list as well. Hope that helps!

Left a message with my name stating that they were debt collectors (Calvary Portfolio) and even gave a confirmation number... after reading the comments here (and after a few Google searches) I'm probably not calling them back...

I have been recieveing this phone call (1-800-861-5065)from this company Calavary Debt Collector (auto) asking for somebody I don't know.Options saying if (blah blah) press (1) or (2)that makes no sanec at all.This time I had patience to listen to the whole msg and they left a number (1-888-716-0010) to call if this wasn't a correct address or phone number to call for verification and removal of the number from their computer.
I did call this number and the customer service apologise saying they was gonna remove my number from their system.I suggest you people should do the same to put an end to this harrassment.

The number is unknown, however it is some collection agency who claims they bought AT&T's collection account claiming that the owner of a recycled telepnone number owes money on some unpaid phonecalls to Utah and New York. When I asked what the telephone number was that was supposedly mine, they refused to tell me. The caller was rude and laughed at me when I questioned him repeatedly about what my former number was that these calls were made from. DO NOT ACCOMODATE THESE HACKS THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!

PLEASE READ AND REPOST WHEN YOU REPORT A DEBT COLLECTOR CALL AND NUMBER. Debt collectors face some prohibitions. The federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act places limits on what they can do.
Repeatedly contacting you about a debt within a relatively short period of time (during one morning or afternoon) in an effort to wear you down.
Calling you earlier than 8 a.m. or later than 9 p.m., unless you tell the collector that it's OK to call you then. The FDCPA also prohibits debt collectors from calling you at a time that you tell them is inconvenient, or anytime on Sunday. Similarly, it is unlawful for them to continue to call you if you tell them not to call you anymore. However, that does not mean that debt collectors won't continue trying to collect the money that you owe. Calling you at work if you tell them that your employer doesn't want you contacted there.
Telling your friends, relatives or neighbors that you owe a debt in order to embarrass you into paying it. But debt collectors are allowed to contact them to find out how to get in touch with you.
Sending you information about a past-due debt using a postcard or an envelope that clearly indicates that it was sent by a debt collector.
Using profanity or abusive language when they talk to you or promising to ruin your reputation if you don't pay what you owe.
Threatening to throw you in jail.

I get calls from these people all the time, looking for someone who doesn't live here, and has never lived here. I get the same calls, sometimes daily, for over a year and from different numbers. The numbers, and how many times they've called from that number (since I started keeping track), are:

888-716-0010 (3)
800-861-5065 (5)
800-821-2507 (2)
888-841-0021 (1)

Unfortunarely, I deleted most of them before I decided to track how many times they call.

I'm so tired of this... I probably should just get rid of the phone and save some money.
Back in the isdn-days I used a software to filter & block phone-numbers I didn't want to let through, and the phone wouldn't even ring at all.
Isn't something similar available for American lines/Caller-IDs? Something that would just filter out single numbers, a set of all 888* numbers or every number with "Unknown name"? I once did a brief search on the web and bought a modem, but this didn't work for me. Can anyone recommend a working solution?

These people keep calling my house looking for a person I do not know. I called their 888-716-0010 and told the woman I have no clue who they are looking for, but they better stop calling my house annoying me. She got all smart with me and told me she could call all she wanted and there was nothing I could do about it - I told her I have had the same phone # for 25 years and she can look that up and verify it - and she damn sure better quit calling me annoying me or Im going to seek legal action. She said, "Fine, go ahead, call whoever you want." Its blatantly obvious these are TOTAL SCUM debt collectors and if I can find a way to prosecute or sue them for annoying & harrassing me Im going to do it. Hey Cavalry Portfolio, hear that? I got YOUR number now and the law is on my side. Im calling my attorney today and I can assure you this, you wont be annoying me for much longer you sorry pricks!

I receive calls from 888-716-0100 several times a day. They hang up if you answer and if you don't answer, they don't leave voicemails. If you call the number back I get a message that says, "We are sorry, you have dialed a number which cannot be reached from your calling area". Very frustrating!!

I don't have caller id but I have call return and this number belongs to a bottom feeding debt collection agency called Cavalry Portfolio Services. Don't ever call them from a phone that you don't want them to get the number for. Even though I have privacy on my line when I called them back they knew my number!! They don't ever stop calling, no matter what you do.

This folk have been calling the place I work for an employee that no longer works here. I did call the number back 888-716-0100)and told them so. They said they would take our number off their list. They did not answer with a company name, they just said hello. I could hear switchboard operators in the background.

Calvary refused to give the nature of the call, stating it was personal. I called back and found that it was a collection agency handling a bill from AT&T. As someone else commented, it appears to be a bottom feeding scam operation

I keep getting mulitple calls from this collection agency - Calvery Portfolio. I have had this number for over 9 years but they keep calling for someone I don't know. Two and three times each day with a prerecorded message that gives you no chance to get your number of their list. They should not be able to call wrong numbers repeatedly with a recording. You then have to take the time to remove yourself from their incorrect lists. I have called but no one has picked up.

Fill a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the FCC.

These people called but there was no one on the other end when I answered the call. I believe this is an agency calling to collect on a Sprint bill which was taken care of years ago.
