I received a call from Tracie Coleman, who said she was with the BBB. I listened to her pitch, which was very well practiced and professional, and then took her number. She was quite knowledgeable of the benefits and advantages of joining the "privileged" BBB, "IF" we are accepted.
I called her back, at extension 155, and was convinced to sign up with them over the phone, which I normally do not do.

BBB Alex Cooney left message to return his call. clearly a telemarketer selling BBB membership. Sounded very ominous.

I get these telemarketer BBB calls frequently. A couple of years ago confirmed with BBB that they ARE outsourced marketers for BBB. I don't respond to unsolicited business from anyone. The BBB should be turned-in to ... themselves for using this kind of solicitation! Not only are they now among the ranks of the annoying and unwelcome telemarketer, the people calling use vague phrasing in an officious and ominous tone obviously intended to lead the business to think there has been some complaint against them and they had better respond or else!! I have saved ALL of these messages and am going to turn them in to the BBB! Ha! No, maybe the attorney general. shame on you BBB

Claimed to be from the better business bureau. Called from an unpublished number 586-991-0736.

I retract my comment! I have confirmed this IS a number for telemarketers for a number of BBBs. Sorry for jumping the gun.

I work for the BBB in Denver, CO. This phone number DOES NOT belong to any BBB office in the US nor Canada. We believe whoever is calling from this number is trying to phish for private information while using the trusted BBB name as a ploy. Do not respond to these calls.
