no message, I have unlisted number and no one has it (I don't use it for internet purchases, etc) this concerns me!
Let's translate these typical debt collector phrases:
- "urgent business matter": It's urgent for my commission that you confuse a business matter with a personal one, so I can shame you into a fast payment before you have a chance to review the account.
- "not a sales call": Don't grouse at me about Federal Do-Not-Call because it doesn't apply. I won't dare mention the FDCPA, the regulations for third party collectors, may apply.
If you are receiving misdirected or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the aforementioned FDCPA, which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov.

This outfit started calling my new number (unavailable caller ID, no number), leaving a voicemail to call back under the above number for a "very urgent business matter; not a sales call, not asking for donations; yada yada yada). The have called literally every day at least once for the last month since I got this number - highly annoying. I never called back after looking at the posts here. I am registered on the Do-Not-Call list - I reported them there as well but their !@#%$% calls are still coming...
I got a recorded message to call 877-892-4325. These people have been calling me 1 to 2 times a day for a couple weeks now. Please call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357
and file a complaint about this number. You may also file a complaint online at www.ftc.gov

. some sort of collection agency that uses computer to call me over and over. They seem to go after people that have bounced checks, until they get their number changed, then they go after whoever gets that number. The computer calls and hangs up on me. they block their number from the caller id, and all it says is 662
I had this phone put in 3 weeks ago, and now they call often, looking for the people that used to have this phone number, and hang up. They gave me a callback number and rude hillbillies answered the phone.I called my son and asked what his caller id says and he said it gave him my name. When I called them and asked them what their caller id said , they said it was the name of whoever they're trying to reach. I don't believe them and I don't think they believe me that I'm not who they think I am.They said they will take my number out of the system, but I don't believe them. Are they willing to pay someone to talk to the wrong person ? I told them their computer calls people and just hangs up, which seems pointless and inconsiderate, but she did'nt care.

They call asking for Oshay Smith, I've called them back and asked them to remove me from there list and they said they would but the still call at least twice a day. I'm getting very very sick of them.
Calling for Dorothy and James Gnatt, have told them many times I just moved in and this is no longer there number. They do not seem to understand that these people have moved on. Guess they do not wish to update there files. If this continues, I may need to contact a lawyer to stop the harassements.

had a check that did not clear bank. Check has been reprocessed and cleared but still getting calls from these a-holes stating that it hasn't.
So I use to get calls from 1-877-892-4325
asking for some lady Constance and now I get calls from a collection law office. I tell you what I'm becoming motivated to find a lawyer that sues these harrassement lawyers
Female caller, sounds like an inbred hillbilly. This is Security Check, a Mississippi-based company that attempts to recover debts on NSF checks. They keep calling my house looking for a woman who used to live next door, which means they are using a skip tracer to try locating people who wrote bad checks to places like Pizza Hut and Papa John's.
These bozos have taken to calling my home phone at least twice a day. The message is usually from a woman with a thick, almost undecipherable southern accent. I have answered a few times and told them that the person they are looking for does not live here, but they persist.

There has to be a way to stop these people from harrasing people. I do not owe their client any money. They are rude and hang up on you as soon as they say their peace.
They keep calling and asking for a mr. Joseph. obviously, he gave them my number and now they are harrassing me all hours of the day.
Looking for a girl concerning to bounced checks but I have no idea of who this girl is and have called in numerous times to explain and have my number removed but the calls continue
They call all the time asking for the wrong person. I told them they have the wrong person they asked who I was I said I rather not say because I had not heard of security check before. They said well the calls will continue and they did. Looking for the wrong person. Unless they are looking for me either way I wont answer again.
Got another call this morning, this time it was a woman's voice and she asked for Marcelena(?) Don't know anyone by that name. Again, they left only a number on voicemail.
Man's voice said "This message is for Michael R____, 877-892-4325". No explanation why, nothing. I don't answer calls for "unknown" in general. I don't know if I'll answer next time or not. I know that I have no outstanding debts so can only assume it is a sales call. It's possible it was a security check for a credit card, but I would think it would at least list the phone number on caller ID.
So this number has been calling me for about a month asking for a bridget. They leave message on my phon, despite the male voice, and demand to speak to her. THe isisnt it's an important business call and stap at me when i explain the situation. The are a collection agency and why they are calling a minor is past me.
They call as "unknown caller" about 20 times a day. I hear a busy signal on my voicemail. They are a check collection service. I received a letter from them in the mail about a check that was written off our account that didn't clear the bank. They have a website that you can make a payment directly through. I did this and the calls stopped.
