I don't know what they want and until they say what they want, I will not return the calls!!! I had a credit report ran a year ago and nothing was on it other than house and vehicles and a few CCd's that I use... I am not hiding from a debt!!!

I was called today from an automatited service. It asked me to identify myself by my last name first and my first name last. I pushed 1 to state who I was. The automated voice said, "this is an attempt to collect a debt, all information obtained will be used for that purpose." then they said "Please hold for the next service representitive". Then I was hung up on.

They are not scams. True Logic is a small debt collection agency. they ask to verify the last four digits of ssn to make sure it is right person. to stop the calls, you will need to answer the call to verify you are the wrong person they are trying to contact, or call back and do the same. if it is your ssn, and you believe there's no way it's your debt, get you credit report and you will need to dispute it. either get a lawyer or handle it your self but unless you dispute it, it will continue to haunt you and it will be passed on to other debt collection companies. If there's nothing to hide, then answer it and handle it like a grown person.

A GREAT WAY TO STOP THEIR ANNOYING CALLS IS TO PUT THEIR MESSAGE ON A TAPE RECORDER, CALL THEM BACK AND PLAY IT BACK TO THEM OVER AND OVER.

Called back. Spoke with supervisor(?) Said name was Leon Williams. He said my number was placed on his do not call list (done this before). I told him to mail what ever business he had to what ever address he had. I asked him again what company he represented and he said Bay Area Credit Services. I told him that was odd because the internet had many different names, and could he possibly be trying to defraud my son? He immediately hung up.

Received call from 877.339.7500 to call back with a reference number. When I called back, she said that she was from Bay Area Services. She asked for my son. She then told me that federal law would not let her tell me the subject of why she was calling, but she told me my son is serving in Iraq

I received two calls from this number this morning, but no voicemail either time. When I finally called back I spoke to a woman that informed me it was a debt collection agency and that I was in collection for a card I discovered I did not even have that was opened in my name when I was roughly 10 years old in a city in which I have never lived. So, normally I would have just thought that maybe I was actually a victim of identity theft and credit fraud EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THE WOMAN DID SOMETHING I THOUGHT WAS STRANGE: when she rehearsed the "before i continue i must ask for the last 4 numbers of your social security number," like every other teller does SHE TOLD ME MY SOCIAL WITHOUT WAITING FOR MY ANSWER which in my opinion is very unprofessional, and made me think that perhaps it was a scam. So once I got off the phone with her, I called back and spoke to someone else who also asked me to do something very suspicious as well -- she wanted me to send a picture id in order to verify that I was a minor at the time of the account activity.

For these aforementioned reasons, as well as others, i believe THIS AGENCY MAY BE A FRAUD so be careful. If they contact you, I suggest asking for the name of the company you supposedly owe and contacting them directly and/or getting a copy of your credit report to investigate ALL activity under your identity. If it turns out you do not owe anything, report the incident to the police and your bank.

I hope this is helpful.

There have ben numerous warnings of phone scams. Someone in my area , I heard on the news lost 300,000$. My advice don't answer, they are deceivers.

Caller is a bottom feeder Collection Agency which used to be called Genesis Financial, then TrueLogic Financial Corp. and now Bay Area Credit Service (www.bayareacredit.com). Same people run the new company. Paul Konkel is the CEO with Doug Spencer second in charge. Their FAX number is 408-392-4520.

They call constantly asking for people that have never lived here that owe alleged debts.

It doesn't matter if you inform them (repeatedly) that you do not know or have ever heard of the person they are asking for; they will just call tomorrow asking for a new person. I think most of the names are made up anyway.

There have been several calls made from this number 866-488-4299) to my home phone number. Someone told me a person named Miguel left a message for me to call him back at 877-339-7500; he also left a reference number. ????? Funny thing is 4 or 5 months ago I received some mail from a debt collection agency in whih they stated I owed them money. I called the number in the letter and it turned out I was not the person they were looking for. The lady I spoke with explained that what they do is look up names (first name initial and last name) and if they have a match, or even a similar name, they will start hounding you, even if you are not really the person they are looking for. After I gave my info to this lady, she said that it was, in fact, another person with my same initials and last name they were looking for. She even gave me an address, where this other person lived, and the address didn't match any of the addresses where I lived before. The address she gave me is near the place where I currently live but, it is definitely not my address. I was definitely very apprehensive to give any personal info to her because you never know who is at the other end of the phone and what they will use the info for. Anyway, I kept the letter and envelope I received and I will compare the info in that letter with this new phone and reference number.

I received several calls from these people before calling back to ask them to remove me from their list. They said they wanted to collect a debt for a phone bill from 2001 - first we've heard about this in 6 years. I contacted the phone company about it because I knew it was bogus and had them do a credit history on our account - of course it was left in good standing. The scary thing is that True Logic Financial had our correct account number, last four digits of my hubby's SSN and his B-day, but the phone company never sent any information to them about our account, nor asked them to collect a non-existant debt. They are still harrassing us on a daily basis.

These calls are coming from True Logic, a Debt Collector/Collection Agency that is breaking FEDERAL law. They are REQUIRED by the FDCPA to state their IDENTITY and also to state "This is an attempt by a debt collector to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose." DO NOT CALL THEM. Instead REPORT them to the FTC using the FTC's online complaint form. If you want to stop harrassing calls you MUST report them to the FTC as the FTC is in charge of ENFORCING the law that they are violating. They can be fined $1,000 for EACH violation. Do not expect others to stop these law breakers for you, YOU should take action & report them. Google the FTC and report them, it only takes a few minutes of your time. Make them PAY for breaking the law and help PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.

Have received numerous calls from this number. Recording states "This is not a sales call" and provides number to call back. Called this mornig and asked to be taken off their call list. He stated they had no call list, but, if they were calling us in error they would delete our number. Apparently they were looking for EZ Miller, and agreeed to take our number off their records. Hopefully, this has taken care of the problem.

You can contact the FTC www.ftc.gov and they will put a stop to thier harrassment. Meanwhile, contact them directly and warn them to cease and desist within 10 business days. Tell them that you are going to file complaints with FCC and FTC. Companies are required by law to remove you from their call lists when requested within 24 hours.

I have suddenly been getting calls from this group for about a week. They are recorded calls that ask someone to call this number -- which I only heard because of a partial message left on my answering machine once. When I hear a long pause on the phone after I pick up the receiver and say hello, I usually hang up because I know it is a recording. That is what has been happening with this group. It's annoying, and I have no idea why they are calling my number.

Received calls nearly every day for months. Finally called my phone company (AT & T) to ask them to block calls from that number to my phone. After sitting on hold with AT&T "customer service" for 45 minutes they referred me to the AT&T Annoying Call Service (800/348-8727) where I got absolutely no where. I talked to a very patronized person. As a last resort after talking to at&t, I called the number back and gave them the reference number. Of course, the were looking for someone else and said they would remove my number. We'll see. And I think the woman's accent sounded more Philipino than Indian.

True Logic Financial has called me several times in the past week, leaving an automated message saying "This is not a sales call" and providing this phone number to call back (877.339.7500) as well as a "reference number".
Turns out that True Logic Financial is a debt-collection agency (see www.truelogicfinancial.com/internet/logon/index.aspx)
They believe they are exempt from the Do-Not-Call laws because they are not, in fact, trying to sell you anything.
However, not surprisingly, some people who are being hounded by collection agencies give false phone numbers. Hence the rest of us get pestered. And for this same reason, True Logic *is* ruled by the Do-Not-Call laws when they call you.
My recommendation: First, make sure you are registered on the National Do Not Call Registry (www.donotcall.gov/register/Reg.aspx).
Second, every time these bozos at True Logic call you, file a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry (www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx).
Third, return the call to True Logic and explain that you are not the person they are looking for, and ask them to take you phone number off their list.
