Same story. I HAD entered a contest to win a car just 1 month ago, so thought it was legit at first. I did give my email and name. How stupid! I knew better but sucked in. Does anyone know what he can do with the info.? I am already on do not call list and did file a complaint.
Thanks for sharing stories. Wish I would have known to check first.
Same story: Fredrick left message that (someone unidentified) had won a car, one of the top four prizes, as a result of a form filled out in the last '4 - 18 months". Claimed to know this number was on the do not call registry and would not be calling if we hadn't filled out a form. Said to call him back at 866-312-9553
X243. Seemed very vague so I looked it up and found this page...
I have received the call twice from "patrick" with the same offer everyone else reports. I have always thought this was a timeshare or other scam so I never returned "patrick's" calls. After the latest call today I decisded to look for the information on the Mitchell Communications group and this phone number. I'm glad I did because it confirmed my suspicions.
Call back and got a recorded message informed them that the number they call was on the do not call registry and will report them if I receive any other calls
Prize Fulfillment Center 1 of 4 major prizes
Got call from telicia. Didn't fill anything out. 90 min of my time yeah right. Same old scam. Don't bother just make complaint to donotcall.gov
Same story: Patrick left message that (someone unidentified) had won a car, one of the top four prizes, as a result of a form filled out in the last '4 - 18 months". Claimed to know this number was on the do not call registry and would not be calling if we hadn't filled out a form. Seemed very vague, mumbled and questionable so I looked it up and found this page... Not very surprising really.
Patrick from Mitchell Comm blah blah blah, call me back TollFree 877-279-3457 ext 243
Same as others reported.
These calls are very annoying. Can't something be done to prevent these bogus callers from infringing on our privacy and valuable time? They prey on the elderly and those who think "just maybe this is legit."
I got a call and it say patrick telling me I won a car and i told them i live alone so that said it was for a married couple. seems like scam to me
Scam call on bogus prizes
Scam Message: Hi, this is David calling from Mitchell Communications Group. I have made numerous attempts to reach you regarding an entry form that was filled out in your name within the last 12 to 18 months to receive a new car. This will be my final attempt to notify that your name was pulled and you’re going to receive one of our top four major prizes. It would be in your best interest to give me a call back as soon as possible. The number is toll free at 1-877-279-3457

I’m very aware of the do not call list so I wouldn’t be calling unless you actually entered. This is a time sensitive matter I do look forward to hearing from you. Once again congratulations my name is David.
When it is too good to be true, it is: Hi this is Patrick calling from Mitchell Comm Group. I have made numerous attempts to reach you regarding entry form that was put on within the last for 18 months. If you can call this will be my final attempt to notify that your name was pulled and you will receive one of our top four major prizes. Will be in your best interest to give me a call back as soon as possible. The number is toll free at 1-877-279-3457
ext. 243 and not a telemarketing agency or timeshare, this is not a cold call. So please do not listen to message compare whether do not call list. So I wouldn't be calling unless you actually in a time system matter. I do look forward to hearing from you. Once again congratulations my name is Patrick"
After a few seconds the taped message started. It was "David" from ??? Communications Group. He had made made numerous attempts to contact me (oh really?) about an entry form that someone had filled in during the past 12-18 months to win a car. He was calling to inform me that I had indeed won one of the top 4 prizes. (Probably a picture of a car!). He said that it was time-sensitive and to call him at 1-877-279-3457
x243 and cautioned that it was not a telemaketing agency, or timeshare, nor a cold call.
Thank the Lord, that so many people that received call from either Tony or Pat did not fall for the scam!!!
Got the same message from "patrick" at 708-833-8471
. Mitchells Communication. Can this kind of call be reported to anyone or anywhere in addition to the Do Not Call Registry?
got a voicemail from "Patrick", you've won a prize blah blah blah. Not calling back.
His real name is Tony Takadis. He is a Greek guy.
He has called our house multiple times and never says anything except "sorry wrong number" and hangs up. so weird
This was not a telemarketing call so it was in my best interest to call back, that I entered a contest within the last 18 months and won a car...call back. Glad I found this website - it's obviously a scam.
We got a call on our maching saying we had won a car - he did not mention the winning party's name. When I returned the call, no one was available Our callers name was Patrick.
They said I entered a contest to win a car, which I didn't.
Call from sounded like David, said had won one of 4 prizes maybe new car even tho I was on the do not call list I had entered to win car with my phone number on entry form Said would not atteempt to call back please call them immediately. I did not. Call from Mitchells Communication Grp.
SOME FAST TALKING GUY SAID I HAD WON ONE OF FOUR PRIZES. I THOUGHT COOL. LOL. THEN I WENT TO "WHO CALLED" CENTER AND READ COMMENTS. PEOPLE HAVE MARBLES IN THEIR MOUTHS. IT COULD BE A CALL CENTER FOR HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUTS WHO EARN MINIMUM WAGE AT MITCHELLS COMMUNITY. PERHAPS IT A CULT. WHO KNOWS. BEWARE A SCAM STINKS AND ABOVE NUMBER PART OF IT. WONDER WHAT YOU GET AT MOTEL. A 90 MINUTE TIME SHARE PRESENTATION PERHAPS. COUNT ON IT. AND YOU WIN TWO NIGHTS AT MOTEL 6 OR THE LIKE.
Dave or David of Mitchell Communications at ext 243. I won a prize... "time sensitive call", "not a cold call", "trying to reach you (no name given) for days". Probably has been calling but didn't leave any messages.
rec'd several messages re I won a car, yes in the past i have filled out a form somewhere can not recall where/when. called and spoke with a girl who said the entry was for a mini cooper - that confirmed it was not something i filled out - hate those... I asked to see a copy of the entry the claim i filled out then said maybe someone filled it out for me.
then she said there were other prizes and i would need to come down see what i won. turns out its a travel agency in methuen named fantasia.
i was put on hold and told a manager would call me back...
Got a call 7:03 a.m. from Patrick at this number, leaving 877-279-3457
as a callback number. Saying something about a new car, we won one of top four prizes, not a telemarketing call, we entered, etc. Checked Who Called first then reported to Federal Trade Commission online at https: Everyone needs to report these scams. It's quick and simple.
Got a call from Patrick at 708-248-6929
with same scam - won one of top 4 prizes - something about a new car - you entered - not a telemarketing call - etc. Checked here first then reported to Federal Trade Commission at link below. It takes a lot of reports before anything is done. The process is brief and simple.
Call from Tony, company name mumbled, Ext 109. Said I had won one of four prizes, one of which is a new car, because I had filled out a prize entry 12-18 months ago. Said it would be the last time he notified me and it was not a telemarketer or cold call. I'm on the do not call register.
I received this same phone call today. This is ridiculous.
Got a call from Tony with the same msg. Glad I checked this on google. I won't be calling back
second message received in 1 week. have not called back. got the call from Tony- Prize Fulfillment Center- to call back 877-279-3457 (x109), this was not a "cold call" commented that he knew I was listed on the Do Not Call List- I had entered a contest, my name was chosen and winner of one out of 4 prizes.
Really?? There are two people that live here, which one is the winner? Why didn't I receive something in the mail that i need to sign if i am truly a winner. Sounds like a Scam to me. (Got a similiar call like this 2 months back, never called - now it seems they are at it again!)
The message said I had won a car. He also said it was not a time share.
I returned the call and they said I had filled out some form within the last 18 months ( I don't rememebner doing so). They said I had won one of 3 prizes: a for dexplorer, a vacion or a 27" TV. I had to go to some meeting the following night. I told them I couldn't, so they wanted to know if I knew another couple who could.
Yet another SCAM. Tony wanted me to drive to Ormond Beach to "claim my car"... Not. I told them 'don't call me again' and gave all the info to my friend who works for the FBI... Although there's alot of people who are greedy and ate up with stupid, I'm not one of them. Don't fall for this one!
Tony Called my home a number of times and when I return call there is only an answering machine
Just got a call from this number as well. ID states "Mitchells Commu"? I answered and the guy said he dialed the wrong number? That is a hell of a wrong number to have misdialed as I live in Tennessee and 708 is around the Chicagoland area!
DirtyLlama Apr 08th, 2010
I found the message left on my answering machine too. Call from Tony saying I won 877 279 3457 ext 109...Glad to be able to look this stuff up on the internet! SCAM
On the one or two legit things I have won, you just recieve them. You never have to call and beg for it!
Left message, stated that I apparently had signed up to win a vehicle in the last 12-18 mos.
Left message on answering machine: Some guy named Tony claimed he represented "Todd Fulfillment Center" (? - not sure I heard the company name right) and that had made several attempts to contact me about winning some prize. He also said he was aware that I was on the Do Not Call list and therefore he would not be calling if I hadn't actually entered. I've never entered any contest and this guy has never called before. The other number associated with this caller is 877-279-3457
The Grinch Mar 18th, 2010
I got a message from "tony" with prize fullfillment center, said I'd won one of 4 great prizes, from a drawing I entered 12 - 18 months ago. please call back 1-877-279-3457
ext 109. Total scam. I never entered any drawing. Tony also says in his message he knows I am on the do not call list.
Same as the rest of the stories. Call originated from 708-833-8718
. I used the link provided by Tami (below), to register a complaint.
A recording, same as alla the others from Tony (a man.) Obviously a B.S. call!
Recorded Message: Tony- Prize Fulfillment Center- told me to call back 877-279-3457
(x109), although I was listed on the Do Not Call List- that this was not a "cold call"- that I had entered a contest to win a car. He said that my name was chosen, I'm a winner of one the top
Dont Call Tony Back ! Its just a scam.
I received another call which is the 2nd one from Tony because I have won a carto please call back. They said I don't have to sign anything and it isn't a scam. I am pretty good at being scammed because I have turned in so many telemarkters that had been fined because of the "Do Not Call List". So I was curious. The number this time has changed and it is 877--279-3457 ask for Tony extension #109. Same thing happened like the rest of the callers below, Tony is out but another guy came on and asked for name and number and then I let him give his whole routine while I listened. Then I said OK before you go any further, I refuse to go anywhere (this time it is Ormond Beach) for a 90 minute sit in and if you don't stop calling me you will be reported to the authorities. I have recorded this call as well as you and it is the oldest scam around. So beware and play their game, threaten them and they will leave you alone.
Hey Tony (Toni), or whomever called they are one very busy person. I too am on the D N C list. Wow, that works well!
Have been from the start. Have never called these idiots so why do they still call?
Same exact canned message that everyone else is seeing from Tony. Says been trying to reach us, won a car, said it was not a telemarketing call. No answer at extenesion 109. Caller ID was Group Mitchell. Don't bother with this call. Thanks for other responses and saving me the aggravation.
Same exact story as most of the posts here. I didn't bother calling back but searched this site. Tony IS a busy guy! Or girl depending on what gender you reach (Toni) apparently--must be a canned recording as the story is exactly the same as indicated in other posts and the phone number to call back is 877-279-3457, ext. 109. Shows up on my caller ID as 708-856-0109
. I am most grateful for this site!
3/5/2010 they are still at it......thanks to these postings I didn't call back. Will follow Tami's suggestion and report the call.
Tony is a very busy guy, indeed.
Future readers to this post should file a complaint (as I did).
got the same msg from tony today 877-279-3457 x109
received message on answering machine from Tony, at 877-279-3457, said I had entered a contest (I have not) and won a car, and this would be the final attempt to contact me. (I hope that is true).... I am off to register a complaint with National Do Not Call Registry.
Sam from the Prize Fullfilment Center calls and leaves 877-279-3457
ext 106. You have won one of 3 prizes. Turns out to be a vacation scam. They want you and your spouse to sit through a 90 minute meeting and you will win either a tv, a lincon navigator, or a vaction package. I guess you will definetely win the vacations package and pay for the fees which is not a deal at all. Hang up and ask to be removed from their list.
Tony has been calling leaving his message for several months and I have not returned his calls. Tonight he left a message that this would be his last attempt to try to contact me about my prize. Mitchells Commu showed up on my TV and telephone id. I decided to take the time to look it up to be sure I wasn't really going to miss out on anything for real. Thanks for warnings. I won't waste anymore of time with this.
Got a call from a guy named Tony. Said not a telemarketer or timeshare. Been trying to get ahold of us. Said to call them back at 877-833-8406
, but the call came in as 708-833-8406
which is a home phone number in Chicago IL. Left a message and no one called back. Just called again and got a human by the name of "John Berry". Said we had filled out something during a sporting event and had definately won either a 2010 Lincoln Navigator or $45K, 2 nights at Marriott, 3 nights in somewhere else, or a 32'flat screen, but we had definately won. Gave me a claim number and said that I had to go to 100 E. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, Fl to claim my prize, but my husband must be with me and it would take appx 90 minutes. Then he ask if we had 2 forms of ID and a credit card. He then started telling me dates that I could go. Wanted to know if I had a fax or an email so he could send me a confirmation letter. When I told him I couldn't go this week, he said to call him back on next Monday and he would try to schedule something then. Needless to say, this is a total scam! Don't call these people back and you are right, you have a hard time understanding the ebonics that they use! They all need to go back to school to learn to speak english! DO NO GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION! Take your camper to Daytona and stay at one of the campgrounds. They don't hound you afterwards!!
Today I received a message from Tony at the Prize Fullfillment Center. Was told to call back at 877-279-3457, ext 109. Same story as the others: I was selected as a winner from a drawing I entered within the last 12-18 months. I know I had not entered any such contests, and so I checked here before calling the number back. Glad I did check, and glad you people are here to help counter these scams.
Received a call from Toni at the Prize or Process Service Center calling about someone entering me in a contest in the past 4 to 18 months. I was eligible to win one of the top 4 major prizes. The caller ID showed a phone number of 708-248-6929
but the canned message said to call this 877 number and go to ext 109. Toni went on to say that she wasn't a telemarketer or a Time Share something or other. Past research done on previous calls from the same Toni would lead me to form the opinion that this is a scam. My phone number is on the do-not-call list. This was a canned recording with no way given to actually talk to a live person during that call. I have not done business with this company but if I call their 877 number might that interpreted by the FTC as having done business with them since I initiated the call to them. If that is the case then the do-not-call list restrictions no longer apply. What a perfect way to get around the do-not-call list restrictions and sell their product.
Got same message as everyone else here from 877-279-3457 ext. 125. The girls name was Shantel. I won 1 OF 4 prizes and she knows about the DNC list and would not be calling me if it was a sales call and she is from the Prize Fullfillment Center and blah, blah. You can barely understand her. Bunch of Scam Artists.
Has anyone had a charge on their phone bill for calling the 877 number back?
Got the same call today. Exactly as all the good folks below have stated. Its definitely a scam. You can't understand any of the messages or the recording you get when you dial the number back. They all sound like they have marbles in their mouths and talk with ebonics (they're obviously all Black and no that is not a racist comment). The one caller ID showed them in Illinois. They better be ready for what I am going to deliver to the doorstep of the address in Ormand Beach cuz its gonna make national news!
DENNIS IS A COMPLETE IDIOT!
Tony is real busy!!! This is a scam. I received the same call a few months earlier. You will not and have not won anything. To good to be true....run don't give up personal info. If you won tell them to mail it to you for free.
Received the "you won the prize call". Wanted me to be in Ormond Beach tomorrow, said I could not make it. They gave me the 877 279 3457 number with an extension of 116. Also told me I would have to go to 100 E. Grenada Blvd. Ormond Beach Fl to claim the prize. This address is for The Vacation Station and All in one Vacations, which offers vacation membership packages for several hotels in Daytona Beach. Their website is http://www.allinonevacations.com/index.cfm
If these are legitimate hotels in Datona Beach - Best Western Castillo Del Sol Hotel and Coral Beach Resort, I wonder if they know and endorse this type of promotion? I go to Daytona Beach quite often, know where I will not stay!!
Called at 8:44 pm stating that I entered a drawing for a car approx. 12-18 months ago, I had won one of 4 major prizes and to call back toll free 877-279-3457 ext. 131. I have filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry.
Got call from this number, was a woman. Said contact wasn't here, she left message saying to call back and ask for extension 114. When I called back, it was a recording of a man names 'Sam' that said to leave number and he will call back.
I noticed when I got the operator that the name of the company was rushed and mumbled and I asked 3 times for her to repeat the name before I could understand it. I am on the do not call list too and have been for years!
The fact that a woman was the actual caller but man was answering the voice mail doesn't make sense either.
Thanks to all of you for leaving your comments! Much appreciated!!!
Got call from Tony and said approximately the same as the other ppl reported earlier here. I am not returning their call. Thanks for the heads up on this scam.
got the call from Tony- Prize Fulfillment Center- told me to call back 877-279-3457 (x109), although I was listed on the Do Not Call List- that this was not a "cold call"- that I had entered a contest to win a car. He said that my name was chosen, I'm a winner of one the top
four prizes. I tried to call back- spoke with Terrell, said Tony was his supervisor- I hung up the phone. Damn Shame these scammers are allowed to use some kind of "false" contest entry. This is not a valid phone call. It's a scam. I will keep a eye on my next phone bill.
same exact call received this week. it sounded like a scam. how can their be charges on your phone bill from them calling you?
Whew-thanks to all who reported this scam!! I will be sure to check my phone bill for random charges and I'll report this to the do not call list!
Person Identified as Tony froma Prize center called from 708-833-8478
. Left a message to call back the 877 number and hit Ext 109. Said I entered my phone number in the last 12-18 months in a contest and won. I won a new car. Said he wasnt a telemarketer. Caller ID said Mithcells Comm
Got a call from "Darlene" leaving a voice mail saying I won some car, she does not say she is representing any company but a "prize fulfillment center". A google search showed that this is some kind of scam, also suggested was to check your phone bill to make sure you dont get random charges for this scam.
Caller stated that he knew I was on the Do Not Call gov. list, but I had entered a drawing for a car somewhere in the last year and a half and I had won. Told me to call him (Tony) at 877-279-3457
, x109, they they were not doing a cold call and were not telemarketers.
Karen Davis Jan 16th, 2010
Tony called from the Prize Fullfillment Center to say that I had won a prize from an entry made 4 to 6 months ago; in regards to winning a car and that I had won 1 of 4 other prizes. That he would not have called unless I had filled out an entry, and that this was time sensitive. He said this call was not a sales call or cold call and that I'd better call back. To call him back at #1-877-279-3457
x109. (He did not use my name during the whole message.)
Called back. Did not get Tony, but his assistant, Terrell; whom asked my name and what it pertained to. Did not give name, but asked to speak directly to Tony. Terrell didn't know when Tony would be back, but to give him my information. Not given, but politely said, "Bye".
Call from Tony. He said we won either a Ford Explorer, a cruise vacation or a flat screen TV. Turns out to be a vacation club scam. Don't bother...
