This is a legitimate, consumer requested call from Chase. A Chase customer who desires to effect an online transaction is required to enter a one-time identification code. Chase will provide a time-limited code via telephone if requested to do so by a Chase online customer. The number to which the code number is sent is provided by the customer.

I've had three calls to my CELL number. I called as I was worried about my Chase CC. It's got nothing to do with my CC. It has to do with a debit card. I do NOT have a debit card.

This is the number that calls you if you change/upgrade your computer and
try to sign into your CHASE on line account. It is automated, and they
give you an 8 digit code that along with your ID and Password will allow
you to access your bank information.

Subject: Using CHASE Name to Steal SS # and/or Account #

Our office is being pestered multiple times daily by calls from (800) 848-9380. When the calls are answered the line is cut. When the number is called back the pre-recorded message identifies the caller as CHASE and asks for Social Security number and/or account number.

When you GOOGLE the 800 number, you will find the following website that identifies Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation of Columbus, OH as the company in question:
http://www.mortgage-brokers-directory.info/mortgages/chase-manhattan-mortgage-ohio-collections-foreclosures-columbus-oh-800-848-938/28058

When you GOOGLE Chase Manhattan Mortgage you will find the following website that provides the number, 877-242-7372, as the main number for Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation:
http://www.foreclosuresmass.com/about/lender7.html

When you GOOGLE Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation you will find the following website that provides additional contact information including the number, 614-422-7001:
http://www.hoovers.com/company/Chase_Manhattan_Mortgage_Corp/rycjsysfk-1.html

Understanding that this may or may not be connected with the J.P. Morgan Chase Corporation, it still remains that the call is identified with you.

The following are links that may provide you with additional information on calls from (800) 848-9380:

This is DEFINITELY a phishing operation. I emailed Chase through my secure online connection and they emphatically stated that the 866-355-3744 is NOT a Chase number and they promised to look into it. DO NOT, call this number as nothing good can possibly come from this, except giving someone the information they might need to access your account.

Looks like this is a service of TeleSign (.com) I got a string of missed calls from TeleSign's system from some Chase user has our number incorrectly listed on their account. The string off calls were missed and went to vmail while nobody was around to answer, and TeleSign's system called repeatedly until it gave up. So if you are listening TeleSign, please limit the number of times your system tries to call. I called 866-355-3744, and they end up confirming they will scrub my phone number of the user's account.

I am receiving calls from this number daily. On average these calls occur eight times a day and are hang-up calls. On one occasion a live person called from this number and identified themselves as being from Chase Bank asking for payment and then hung up. WHAT YOU CAN DO:

1. If you have Caller ID or the person calling is identified as being with "Chase Bank," contact Chase Bank (in person or by phone) to report the number and problem. 1-877-CHASEPC (1-877-242-7372)

2. Contact your local phone company and report the problem. Ask the company to block this number and to set up a track or trace on your phone line.

3. Contact your local law enforcement agency and ask to file a report. It is against the law in California and other states to make harrassing calls.(California Penal Code section 653m, Penal Code section 422-422.1)

4. Register your home and personal phone number(s) with the National Do Not Call Registry operated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Online registration is available at the FTC's web site, www.donotcall.gov

5. Contact your State Attorney General's Consumer Protection department.

6. File a report with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.

*Note: My local phone company stated that this number has effectively found a way around having their calls blocked, which makes it even more important for each one of us to pursue this by reporting it to the appropriate authorities mentioned above in order to put a stop to this.

Chase BP collections. They want the cash and will call you all day long every single day from 8am to 9pm. I gave them their own special ring tone and just hit the ignore button. I can't pay any of my bills so I just ignore them all.
