Accounts Receivable Management is a collection agency that has been in business since 1975. Accounts Receivable Management is headquartered in Thorofare, New Jersey, and has offices in Louisville, Kentucky, and Midland, Georgia. Accounts Receivable Management collects on debt originally owed to credit card companies, retail stores, hospitals, auto finance companies, and student loan companies.

According to its Web site, Accounts Receivable Management’s “commitment to service and excellence is second to none.” However, according to its track record, Accounts Receivable Management’s collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The FDCPA has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collects can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.

According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), Accounts Receivable Management has been sued over 100 times in the last 3 years for debt collection harassment. It does not get any better for Accounts Receivable Management on the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau has processed over 70 billing/collection issues, and over 85 total complaints, regarding Accounts Receivable Management in the last three years.

Accounts Receivable Management has several telephone numbers it places debt collection calls from. Accounts Receivable Management may be calling you from the following telephone numbers: 800-220-3350, 954-874-9920, 832-260-0414, 866-932-6801, 888-548-8829, 866-937-2249, 866-932-6805, 866-998-8526, 231-306-4788, 803-325-1158, 602-274-9911, 866-932-6810, 877-813-2900, 866-932-6721, 866-679-4046, 800-303-1995, 866-839-8858, 800-777-6116, 732-726-5692, 856-931-4500, 614-322-1696, 443-550-7975, 202-367-9845, 231-337-2146, 269-477-2149, 614-246-9462, 651-319-9163, 714-364-4465, 800-942-1572, 818-251-9361, 856-687-4120, 866-932-6731, 866-932-6770, 866-932-6791, 888-276-8572, 904-421-3330, 208-321-6554, 253-218-3451, 313-483-7070, 502-457-9129, 616-818-7896, 678-331-7211, 757-394-3149, 800-993-4685, 855-593-0070, 856-687-4127, 866-932-6712, 866-932-6741, 866-932-6777, 866-932-6820, 916-529-4409, 973-718-2454, 208-577-6173, 254-230-0272, 405-555-0199, 561-869-4490, 651-304-6390, 678-331-7257, 800-557-2114, 856-472-2473, 866-281-4135, 866-932-6713, 866-932-6750, 866-932-6780, 866-932-6802, 866-932-6822, 888-871-6484, 916-529-4413, 267-439-4927, 425-648-9488, 571-261-0052, 651-304-6871, 702-734-2654, 800-620-4284, 817-717-8245, 856-687-4115, 866-590-1779, 866-932-6726, 866-932-6755, 866-932-6786, 877-696-2660, 888-988-7727, and 952-259-1101.

Accounts Receivable Management. They have been calling about every other day for months. Told them twice to stop, to no effect. They apparently go through the phone book calling all likely-looking names for whoever they're looking for. I don't owe any money to anybody.

The canned message they leave on the answering machine goes like this:

This is a message for… [my name],
If you are not… [my name],
please hang up or delete this message now. By continuing to listen to this message, you acknowledge that you are… [my name].
You should not play this message if other people can hear it as it contains personal information.

There will now be a three-second pause to allow you to listen to this message in private.

This is Accounts Receivable Management, a debt collection company. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained may be used for that purpose. Please contact me at… 866-932-6731
On calling, please refer to… [a seven-digit number].

They are a collection agency. They have been calling me by mistake every since I got this phone put in. I keep calling and telling them and they always just lie and say they will take my number off the list, but continue to call anyway. Their name is Accounts Receivable.

They called this morning. A collection agency looking for an extended family member. They perform extensive searches of person of interest. Calling all numbers generated. Simply call the company, give them your number, explain you have no affiliation with the company, you are on the no call list, you want your number removed, next time you will report them to the state attorneys office.

If it gets to the state attorney, they will contact and require the company to respond to the complaint made in writing and copies will be sent to you. This has worked for me before.

"the BBB must .... have someone paying them off"

Yes, Anna, the very firms they are meant to monitor. Sorta files down the teeth of that watchdog. My own experience with BBB has been that reports don't tell the whole story and accused companies can easily ignore complaints.

BellaRose: The actual rule is that you must be properly dunned in writing within five days of first verbal contact, not the reverse. Usually a collector starts calling the same day the letter is sent, counting on USPS First Class to fulfill the five day deadline. You're otherwise informed enough to realize that you can sue ARM a grand apiece for multiple FDCPA violations, yes?

JerseyGuy: Are you sure you didn't throw away money on an expired or uncollectable account like ARM wanted BellaRose to do? This is why even if you think you owe something, you should keep quiet and demand validation first. The third party collectors are not interested in _your_ financial welfare, only THEIRS.

Willis: In general, language like "important business matter" or "financial matter" coupled with shy details comes from a debt buyer. A sometimes frustrating provision of FDCPA compels collectors to discuss accounts only with debtors, in a nod to privacy. This has led to innumerable Catch-22 conversations with people the collectors skip-trace. This privacy rule has been frequently twisted by some collectors to harass and frighten potentially related individuals such as employers, neighbors, and family members, whom they believe will get their prey talking.

I received repeated calls from 866 932-6805 over several weeks, but never a message. I finally got a person to come on line by answering and then pressing the # key a dozen times. The near-illiterate clerk then asked for "Reginald Hunt" -- an unknown person that has never lived here (and I have used my phone number here in Florida since 1959).

He was resistant to my demands to know his firm's name, saying it was a legal matter that he could not disclose (!). I promised to report him to the FCC, which I have done.

These people are vultures, and must be stopped.

This is a debt collector, these people call my cell phone then 2 seconds later they call my house phone. I tried to answer the call on my house phone, but all I get is a lot of static. I do not know if it is a person calling or a computer automated call. The next time they call my house I will tell them that they have the wrong number and then hang up. They have not sent any type of letter. According to the Fair Debt Collections laws, they must call within 5 days of receipt of mail. I have not received any mail, so they are violating the law. I have already made a complaint to the FTC and I will make one to the attorney general. This is the 2nd time these people have tried to collect a debt that is out of SOL, and they will never validate there claim, they only send it to another agency. I sent them several cease & desist letters and they still keep calling. Keep a log of all the calls and when you answer the phone state: "This call is being recorded for quality control purposes and then you can record the call.

I received a call on June 7th from this sum company and it is from Accounts Receivable Management which is a debt collector. They will keep calling you and you should ignore them, eventually they will stop. Can you believe that the Better Business Bureau gives them an A+ in their ratings, unbelieveable. Google them and you will see the complaints that this company has I do not understant the BBB rating of A+, the BBB must be smoking something or have someone paying them off. I think that they are a junk debt collector who pays pennies for the written off debt and them tries to collect the entire debt. Check your credit reports (you are entitled to your credits report from all 3 credit reporting agencies free each year), dispute the credit listings, dispute with the junk debt collector, file a complaint with the attorney general in their state and your state as well (www.naag.org), check to see if they are licensed to collect debts in your state, and find out the statue of limitiations for this type of debt. Good Luck everyone.

This is a message for Tumicco Black. If this is not Tumicco Bkack, hang up or disconnect now. By continuing to listen to this message you are acknowledging you are Tumicco Black.

This is Accounts Receivable Management, and this is an attempt to collect this debt. Any information obtained will be used for this purpose.

Please contact me about this matter at 866-932-6829(ex.6608)and refer to File Number 19463042. Also use frequently Phone Number 866-932-6805.

I receive at least two calls per week. Sunday is a favorite time from 11:00 A/M to 4:00 P/M

I tell them I'm not Tomicco Black. They say they won't bother me. Low and behold a couple days later I receive a call. "They" are a male & female voice. I tell them not to harass me. I most often don't have my cell phone on, so I don't pick up when I receive a call.

This is the collection agency for "First Premier Bank". I had cleared my account with these ignorant humans but they couldn't seem to correct their records or the credit reporting agencies. I had to send copies along with a certified letter showing that I paid this debt off. It took me 37 days to clear this myself. Make sure that you get a agreement in writing that they will clear the debt off your credit as paid and/or met as agreed.
