I canceled my SPRINT service more than a month ago. Got nothing but annoying calls and the run around from their so-called customer service and, like Anabel above, I know that somehow, someway they are involved. Now they want 160+ for each line I canceled! I am going to e-mail my congressman and ask for guidance on filing a formal complaint/class action lawsuit. It seems that laws against telemarketing cell phone numbers and registering your cell phone on the national DO NOT CALL LIST just isn't enough to make these people understand!

Could it be that they did another rotation in the numbers? Well guys, I can only support what worked for me and that was contacting those people I listed. , I called sprint and they said that number is not one of their listing. Finally they stopped and now it's this new # 888-657-6537. They call several times a day and say nothing and if I call back the # is not in service. And yes I am a sprint customer. They definitely know something.

hey guys the name of the company calling you guys is startec, its a company that leases its number from level three communications, you can report them to the fcc like i did. the info was given to me by level three after i treatened with a lawsuit

Same trouble here... but it's my home phone. This has been going on for ages we though it was someone playing games. Until today where my wife spoke to them. They asked if they were speaking to _____. Then hung up. What they don't know is I work for the phone company so I can push alot more buttons than a regular joe. Here's the kick my phone number is unlisted. So it's not a telemarketer exploit for the white pages. My wife has only two accounts Capital One and Sprint/Nextel. So it's not CapOne...hmmm! My hunch is Sprint sold info to telemarketers or the other end of the spectrum they got hacked.

I've been getting daily calls, at least 3 times a day, from this number for the past 3 weeks. It is bizarre. At first I ignored it, then I answered once and got the dead air. I immediately thought it was my deceased mother trying to contact me (she's been dead 10 years). I used to have a phone number very similar to this one, so I made an unconscious link which led to this bizarre idea. (It's not the first time).
Anyway, they're still calling. Do the calls ever stop?

I've been receiving these calls for two weeks. It is really driving me crazy. When I tried to return the calls, it is a message sating that the number is wrong. Yes, I am hispanic and have Sprint.

As Luis has suggested, Just review the messages, most of them posted up by Luis and myself. See the list of emails on there and try to complain to some of those people to see who can help you out. So far I have not received any more calls. So the main think to do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN.....and Don't let "them" win..
Issa, we don't know what the number is. Like you, we all chose to pop it into a seach engine and see who it was and ended up here. I suggest you e-mail the previously provided e-mails including the FCC.

I agree with roy. You should complain to all the e-mail addresses you find above. That's how i got my issue resolved. Now i'm just hanging out here trying to help others with the same issue.
Andy, The best advice I can give you is look at the messages posted on this messsage board and just complain, complain, and keep complaining to anyone you think might help.

I did give Sprint my Number and they said they added it to a "list of numbers" blocked from all sprint advertisement. I would e-mail that sprint rep i provided for you guys. How was your experience with her Roy? Mine was very satisfactory.
I received a couple of emails from the FCC, and Sprint. I got one similar to yours Luis from the FCC and a response from Mrs. Amick who said she was thankfull for the feed back and that she would pass along the site. That was all. I also got this from Sprint today....

MLB,Rosie, and others, I am not too sure what you can do, only complain to the FCC and Sprint and the alleged company behind this called 8x8.com...I have only done that and my calls have stopped so far...What ever you do don't give them your number if they ask for it...at this point I don't trust any company...so I don't want to give any of my personal info..Just email and complain..

The FCC contacted be because I e-mailed them a complaint about 8x8 and this phone number. So it took them a while but they gotback to me. It's amazng now when the hone rings i know its really for me. Too bad it's been as quiet as a mouse.

Since last I was here. I have received no calls from this number. It's 9:38am 1/15/2007 and I still have yet to receive a call. Man I got 7 calls from this number today and when someone answered they asked me if I speak spanish and I got my friend on the line who speaks spanish and she told me they were trying to sell some phones and when she agreed to buy it they hung up on her and kept calling my phone back.

That is correct Luis, it is not time to celebrate yet. No calls as of yesterday or today, just hope it stays that way. I am still emailing anyone who can help us out, cause this may not be the only number that bugs us.
No calls, but i am still not celebrating. I e-mailed this site to one of my close friends and they seem to also be having this issue, but with another number. So, in a way this site does help very much with tracking down to the best of our abilities the ones responsible and/or at least give us ideas for taking action.

Did you get any calls yesterday? Tiana W. try contacting the number and the e-mail i suggested. Even if your not a Sprint customer you are being affected by it.
thats great, that you have contacts at Univision, "person from Texas". I am from texas too, and I had also received a long time ago 2 or three calls from a FLORIDA number.... As for the 8668474509, I did not receive any calls yesterday and none today so far.... Does anyone else here want to get attention from Univision???? If so post something on this message board. Ummm I have a sidekick 3 and I've been getting these calls for the last week or so and I even got written up at work because this phone number kept calling me. I guess my name sounds hispanic but I have t-mobile, not sprint and am half black and half cuban. Maybe we all signed up for the same website or something? The phone number showed up on my cell phones caller I.D. I called the number back and get a recording the number is no longer in service.
got a call from this #. I didnt pick up b/c i didnt recognize it. I then did a google search and found this site. i was also receiving calls with the same m.o. and it stopped afte a couple of weeks. has anyone been able to block calls on your cell phone. i wa advised by sprint that they cant block calls from toll free numbers.

POSSIBLE BREAKTHROUGH! Sprint called me "Stephanie Amick" we spoke about this issue and she states that they are currently sending the paperwork to the FCC regarding this number. She is a really nice person, who i think might be able to help us in this situation. Canceled my Sprint service and basically told them that I suspect they are behind all of this. I told them I have 2 lines, one for bills/business that uses practically no minutes and one only for trusted friends/family which is posted *nowhere*. I was getting these annoying calls on my personal line only! What are the odds of hispanic sounding last names with Sprint #'s being the only ones suffering from some "random" number generation algorithm? (their explanation by the way). As of Monday 9:00 pm, I've gotten no calls. I AM DEFINITELY INTERESTED IN MAKING SOMEONE PAY FOR THE COST OF CHANGING SERVICE AND MY NUMBERS WHICH I'VE HAD FOR YEARS!
Yes I have been receiving fewer calls. Maybe they started reading this site and diminished the amount of calls. Still if we have our history of missed calls we can report it and not look like liars. I believe that if we dont follow thru it will be the same issue with the same or another number.

It could be a coincidence, but my calls have diminished since coming on here and calling an e-mailing these people about the issue. Weather or not this is a coincidence i have no idea. Today i've only had 1 call normally it would be up to like 4-5 by now. on the weekend NONE. when normally it would be 10 a day.

Unfortunately at this time we are unable to block the phone number for you. The best I can suggest if it is not to much for of a hassle for you is to change your Sprint PCS phone number by contacting Customer Care at 1-888-211-4727
from a separate line other then your handheld device.
As well if you are receiving harassing phone calls it would be best to contact your local authorities to see if they are able to have the caller stop.
