Well, it is the National Rifle Association. The calls come from a group who raises money for the NRA. I am a lifetime NRA member, and I'm told that the NRA is in a fund raising frenzy to keep up with the anti-gun lobby people and groups. I donated again (even though I am a lifetime member) and wish them well.

I did receive a receipt for my donation, along with new decals. They are legitimate, but probably a portion of the money I gave went to the fund raising group as well. But, what the heck I do support my NRA.

And all those paranoid people who owe money (deadbeats) who are afraid of their shadows when number like this call, I say pay your damn debt and you won't have to worry about this.

This is a real pain. One more in the many unwanted calls I get. Caller never answered. Isn't there something that can be done for these harassing calls?

This is from a company called InfoCision, which is doing fund raising for the National Rifle Association, of which I’m a member. I spoke at length with the man calling and he was very open about who they are. I explained to him that, as a member and supporter of the NRA his company’s calling techniques are not helping the organization.

This is the NRA group or National Recovery Agency a debt collection company, they spoof the name National Rifle Association when you call the number back. I answered the phone and asked, is this the NRA, the lady said yes with a laugh in her voice, I said The National Rifle Association and she said yes, that is when I called her and her employers liars I knew who they were and I hung up. Do not be fooled by them, best thing is do not answer the phone.

These people are fakes and I'd be leary of pushing any number to end a call. Get out by hanging up. They are not the NRA but claim to be.
These folks are not the National Rifle association but claim to be. FAKE FAKE FAKE be careful!

I received a call from this number today as well. The were looking for my husband whom is an active member of the national rifle association. I myself did not believe that, but he assured me that it was and that it's an election year. The guy on the phone said he would call back.... HOWEVER when I did call the number back, they answer as the NRA and then talk about your amendment rights and they give you an option, if you no longer want calls from this organization just press 3 and they will remove your number. I can not see a collection agency going through all of that. The number is legit.

When i called the number back it said it was the NRA but they are sorry they missed me... this message plays ANYTIME you call them. The NRA website has a different telephone number and you are able to get a live person when you push a few buttons, something you are unable to do on the number that keeps calling all of us. I have contacted the NRA with the number that keeps calling - 866-725-2769 and have asked them to confirm whether or not this is the NRA or some scam/bottom feeder. If it is a scammer or some bottom feeder collection agency, I am going to follow through to the fullest extent the law allows. I've had enough of these creeps.

Use a little logic. First, the NRA does not make unsolicited calls. Second, what would be the point if they don't say anything if you answer. Third, why would they not talk to you if you called back? Probably this is a person or organization that does not like the NRA and is trying to give them a bad name.

This is the National Rifle Association. I am a member. I do not want these calls, so followed the advise of others on this page - dial back to the number - select "1", then "3" then enter your 10-digit number you do not want to receive the calls, then make sure you wait and press "1" to confirm after they read your number back to you. Seems to be all on the up-and-up hopefully will get the calls stopped.

Just for fun, if you are working or living in an environment that you could do this in, answer the phone whenever a suspected telemarketer is on the line. If you hear a real human voice and they start their shpeel, hold a gas charged air-horn to the phone & blast them for a second or two! You can get them from amazon.com for as little as $7.00 for the 1.4oz can or under $30.00 for the 8oz which will last a very long time if used in short bursts. Refill 8oz cans are about $16.00. Free Shipping often available on orders over $25.00!

Even if it's a recording, wait and see if a human takes over the call or if there is an option for them to start recording you, then blast them!

Don't get mad, GET REVENGE!

Decided to call the number back. Got a recording that said, "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association". "We are sorry we missed your call and will try and call back in a few days." Thinking this means they have a caller ID system to let them know which number call back to see who is calling them and not leaving a message.
