I HAVE EVERY REASON TO BELIEVE THIS IS PERHAPS SOME KIND OF INTERNAL FRAUD AT THE WATER UTILITY CO OR PEOPLE WHO MAYBE GOT FIRED OR SOMETHING. THESE PEOPLE WERE ALWAYS CSLLING ME AND SCARING ME INTO PAYING THEM REPRESENTING THEMSELVES AS AMERICAN WATER,. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN UP TO DATE ON MY WATER BILL, BUT I GOT A NOTICE SAYING THAT I OWED $145.77!!!!! I LIVE IN A FREAKING 2 BEDROOM CONDO. UM.... I DONT THINK MY BILL SHOULD BE THAT MUCH. I HAVE BEEN KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON THIS. PEOPLE WHO WORK AT UTILITY COMPANIES ARE SOMEHOW GETTING AWAY WITH OVERCHARGING THE CUSTOMERS BY 100% I KNOW THAT MY WATER BILL,$145.77 MY ELECTRICITY BILL,SHOULD BE AROUND $50 BUT IS OVER $100, OR $150 FOR ONE FREAKING MONTH OF SERVICE??? I DONT THINK SO! AND MY GAS BILL SHOULDNT BE ANY MORE THAN $15 A MONTH, THE ONLY THIN I HAVE IS A GAS POWERED WATER HEATER BUT MY BILL IS ABOUT $40 A MONTH. I HAVE COMPLAINED REPEATEDLY TO ALL THE UTILITIES, INCLUDING TAKING IT ALL THE WAY TO THEIR BOARD MEMBERS, AND NOTHING IS EVER DONE ABOUT IT. IT MAKES ME WONDER IF MY PHONE IS HACKED AND THERE IS A SPECIFIC GROUP OF ORGANIZED CRIMINALS THAT HAVE THIS LEVEL OF ARROGANCE AND SOPHISTICATION, SINCE I HAVE BEEN TREATED SO POORLY BY ALL OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES. IF ANYBODY OUT THERE IN ANY STATE OF THE UNITED STATES IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM, PLEASE KNOW THAT YOURE NOT GOING CRAZY, YOURE NOT ALONE, AND MY LAST QUESTION, ARE YOU READY TO BUST THESE FUCKING DIRTBAGS?????? I AM. PLEASE CALL THE FCC, FTC, BBB, AND IN PARTICULAR, PROVIDING YOUR PHONE ISNT HACKED AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET A FEDERAL AGENCY, CALL THEM. WE ARE ON TO SOMETHING REALLY BIG THAT MUST BE STOPPED. Handing over the electronic keys to your funding source to a debt collector is never wise, even if at the outset you agree with the debt claim. There is not much to stop the pigs from returning to the trough until it is emptied.

A third party collector hiding behind the guise of an original creditor is playing dirty pool. Such deceptive practice can inspire a FDCPA lawsuit. Possibly Cindy's tangled story from two years ago is not uncommon.

This is a collection company that represents many American Water municipal providers. They say they are American Water, but
they are actually TransactionsSolutions.com which is owned by PayMyBills.com. I was two months late with my Missouri Water Company payment, and ridden with guilt, agreed to a electronic transfer payment, which cost me an extra $1.80. After I received
my confirmation number by email, the disadvantage of the transaction hit me. A collection company now has my checking account number, and my bank routing number. Probably not a good idea! My bad.

I got a call from this number after I had a made a FULL payment and the account was updated to zero! I spoke with American Water's customer service NOT a collection caller. Mind you this was after a lengthy argument with her that I had a rolling balance from Feb 09 and I gave her all the confirm #'s and check #'s to prove it. I owed for the current amount and the new bill which was not due yet. She insisted I wasn't eligible for a payment arrangement or extension because of the "missing Feb. payment" so I ended up having to pay the whole amount. I called back with the confirmtion # and asked her several times if she was absolutely sure the account was updated to zero and she assured me every time it was! So why the hell am I still getting calls from this damn company when the account shows zero and they can recite the confirmation # to me with the amount!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!! Someone PLEASE tell me who can I report them to besides my local Public Service Commission? This company is not only technolgy backwards (no online account access like most large utilities they have misguided customer service- it is ridiculous!

"American Water" left a message on my work phone machine over the weekend telling me to call this number - gave no reason. I have well water at home and no septic hookup, so they either have the wrong number or this is a scam. I'm not returning the call.

American Water. They make calls to all states that American Water services. Mine is Pennsylvania American Water, but for others it would be New Jersey American Water, Arizona American Water etc.

I received my bill yesterday and found out that the payment I thought was made wasn't received. Called my bank to check on it then arranged payment. They really give you a lot of time to remedy a late payment don't they. Wouldn't it save them some money to give people a week before they call. Whatever.

Rude and harsh collection call from the company that's provided my water for 25 years - and have never been late to pay. It was a Collection call over last months bill (one bill), that I'd paid through my bank but never arrived. AND, he told me I was delinquent with the bill for this month...which they mailed YESTERDAY!

A Collection call mind you, not a pleasant, "we didn't receive your LAST payment 2 weeks ago when it was due" call ! I called the company to complain after I got off the phone with the jerk - and they told me they'd send a letter of apology, and reprimand the caller.

Then...an hour later I got ANOTHER call from the same collection company. Much nicer, but wanting me to pay the whole amount on the account - NOW.

Unbelievable!

I'm trying to find the President of the Company to tell him about his company's tactics.
