A message to the specialist that works for this company, I get an average of three calls a day for someone named Tabitha. I have a minute phone that I spend money to keep on, NO I DONOT HAVE A BILL WITH YOU PEOPLE, NO MY NAME IS NOT TABITHA NOR AM I THE PERSON YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. PERIOD. What makes people like me and the others have to post on this site is that even after we tell you by automation or by speaking to a rep that you have the wrong number YOU FUCKING PEOPLE KEEP CALLING AND HARRASSING INOCENT PEOPLE.My suggestion to everyone is to file a charge with the FCC and request, place yourself on the donot call registry and if they continue when you file the charge with the FCC request monetary payment for everytime they call after you are registered. Oh my watch how fast the calls stop, Hope this helps fixing to register and file charges the very next time they call my phone. Sure could use the extra money. Call on receiveables, call on.

This number started calling me a few weeks ago. They call at odd hours (night, weekends, and once at 5:00 in the morning) so I haven't answered until today. They ask for me, I say "speaking", then they ask for my social security number. I ask who they are and what this is about, all they will tell me is that they are RPM Financial "we're a financial institution" and that is all they can tell me until I give them my social security number to verify who I am. So I ask again what this is about, I'm not going to give my info to someone cause they say I should and the dude gets an attitude and tells me that he needs me to verify who I am and tells me to call him back when I can figure out my social security number.

To Tired: What they are doing is a Federal Law violation (not the DNC list either). Skip tracers (which is what these clowns are) may not call a business more than 1 time for any person. The fines can total $50,000.00 and you have the right to sue them in civil court for up to $100,000.00 plus costs. Step 1: Go online and secure the forms from the Federal Trade Commission and file a formal complaint. Step 2: Trace the call to the company/individual and send a letter stating you now consider "them" a "hostile agent" for whomever their customer is and you will notify said customer of their behavior and sue them along with the skip tracer. The "hostile agent" embedded in a letter tells everyone concerned that an attorney is now involved and usually stops future calls. They also don't want their customer threatened, especially if it turns out you are not the party they are seeking or related to them in any way. This idiot really messed up and you have the upper hand. Good luck.

Tired, you're not helpless as an employer. In fact, you get special mention in the FDCPA. As I discussed here in February, hostile skip tracing is common from this industry. Part of the scthick is to insist you're a liar until you either give yourself up or open the broom closet where the alleged debtor is supposedly hiding.

That sort of hounding with layers of cursing and abuse is illegal. You've a cause of action to spank RPM and the individual reps in court. The next official-type links will start you on your homework.

http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpajump.shtm
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/guidance/supervision/manual/fdcpa-narrative/

Verbal demands are totally useless against your attack dogs, so you need to move to a paper trail as I've also discussed before. Save copies of all phone calls if you have a recording system and take copious notes every time you have an encounter. You are gathering evidence which you will need badly.

I am an employer and this company has called so many times for an ex-employee I have almost lost my mind. I have told them to not call. I have explained she no longer works here. I was told that he will quit calling if I tell him the truth and give him her phone #. I have no contact with the former employee & her unpaid debts are not my concern. My concern is running a business and to stop getting harassing phone calls. This "man" has cussed me out, borderline threatened me, & is out of control. Now I get hang up calls from 866-212-7408 daily. OVER IT!!!!

That guy called Specialist from the June 2009 post who wrote he is an RPM collector sounds kind of sick, like he plays with himself when he makes these calls. Don't follow his advice and do not call him or else you'll have some sick perv whacking his meat when you're trying to tell him about your bill problems.

Joanne and many others: You don't need a valid debt or a derogatory trade line on your credit reports to be hassled by debt collectors. They call third parties to alleged debtors all the time for permitted skip tracing purposes, or often pretending it's a trace to annoy and shame an intended target whose location is already known. Runaway skip tracing is arguably the most common problem the debt industry creates.

To a ''not me'' case I always recommend putting the agency on notice, just as you would if you were the target and the debt claim was invalid. Send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one. This will set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their peril. This can also help pull the agency under the shadow of TCPA, which carries treble damages for ''willful'' violation.

Don't let chest-thumpers like ''Specialist'' from June 2009 fool you. Nine out of ten those skip trace calls are not accidents. The collection rep is not your best friend and not your financial advisor. A ''50% sale'' is a common offer across the industry, and no bargain for you when the agency paid maybe 08% of face value for the entire debt portfolio. Not to mention ''settlement'' offers have to be arranged with exacting care to keep scofflaw collectors from welching on their deals and/or reselling ''forgiven'' portions. What's more, collection agencies cannot simply park a bad trade line on your credit bureau reports the way a hunter sets a bear trap. When they pull, it must be for a good reason, and what they report must be accurate.

That rep's whole rant is straight from the industry songbook, in which the constant refrain is that everyone he talks to is a cheating liar deserving of punishment. Then suddenly he's your pal when you drop your healthy skepticism, handing over his phone extension to secure more commissions. He wants you to ask "How do I pay" before you demand "Prove I owe"! The chance to preserve your rights slides away quickly. Here's a place to learn how:

I generally ignore these calls but the one today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I have reported them and you should too at: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm

Where do I report a debt collector for an alleged violation?

Report any problems you have with a debt collector to your state Attorney Generals office (www.naag.org) and the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov). Many states have their own debt collection laws that are different from the federal Fair Debt Collection.
The business to complain about has details listed below. If they have broken the law at all, they can be punished if the right people hear about this. I think it's important because otherwise they continue to get away with it and waste other people's cell phone minutes too!

301-882-9950, 425-984-6246, 425-984-6248, 866-212-7408, 866-212-7848, 888-745-9332 are most of the phone numbers the Receivable Performance Management, LLC (Collection Agency) are using. They are located at 1930 220th Street SE Suite 101, Bothell WA 98021-8410 and are also using a PO Box 768 with the same City, State & Zip address, too. The Founder is Howard L. George and he runs a website: //ReceivablesPerformance.com for gathering Clients to keep them in business. They do use a Demon Dialer of some sort to "Hunt Down" targets who may answer their phone which is why you rarely get a live person on the calling end when you answer.

To combat these types, there are a few tactics. First, when you answer your phone, be sure you are NOT doing something important (especially driving) and wait for the live person to get on the line as this may take a while. Say hello politely several times so the Caller will FEEL comfortable they are talking to someone who is "Civil" enough to deal with. When they do respond as a live person, your FIRST QUESTION will always be: WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO CALL, PLEASE? without yelling at them. DO NOT TELL THEM WHO YOU ARE, they called you looking for someone so find out who they are looking for, first. 9 times out of ten, they will have the wrong number but you MUST inform them that you have had your phone number for so many months or that it is a relatively NEW number for you so that these people will FEEL you are telling them the truth and not someone trying to hide from debt collection practices. If you are NOT the person they are looking for, DO NOT lead them to believe that you may know that person, either. It is NOT your responsibility to be contacting someone else for them. If they continue calling you, inform them that if they continue to keep calling you (especially on your cellphone), you will treat this as harrassment and will report them to the phone company (forget about the police for now). The phone company has a legal department who handles this problem.

The Second Step: If you ARE the person they are trying to contact, YOU MUST ASK them politely to tell you what address they have on file for you. Do not give them any new information about you no matter how they TRY to coherse into doing so. If the address IS correct AND it is a CURRENT address that they can reach you at; YOU MUST tell them to send EVERYTHING IN WRITING to you at that address on record. Ask them to sign their letter to you. Never, NEVER, handle transactions over the phone such as giving them additional information, especially where you bank at or give them credit card numbers, or where you work, etc.

When they call again, wait for the live person (again) to inform them you are waiting for their wirtten demands in the mail BEFORE you can respond any further BECAUSE YOU ARE REQUIRED TO VERIFY THEIR CLAIM FIRST before proceeding any further. You are still letting them know that you are a reasonable & civil person to deal with, so politely excuse yourself until you have THEIR documentation in your hands. If RPM rebuts with excuses to continue before you have a reasonable amount of time to validate their claim, you may politely let them know that you know HOW to reach MR. GEORGE and his company and to please be careful with what (the Caller) says for you may have to use that against (the Caller) at at later time. This type of caution usually stops them from proceeding unless they are trying to upset you. It's an attempt to get you to lose control which you already have over them. You can also inform them that this call may be TRANSCRIBED (not recorded) in case you need it for a later date. You want them to hang up on YOU, not the other way around. This is how You maintain control over them.

Third: When you actually have their written demand for payment, hopefully you will have their name and best of all, their signature as well; now is the time to do your research on verifying IF the debt is genuine. There are all sorts of information on the web for fighting for your rights. Use them. Check to see if the Statute Of Limitations had expired. Check websites for help on writing proper letters such as legal Demands to Validate Debt. Most importantly, always write (never communicate over the phone) with the intent to use the U.S. Mails with the Certified Delivery WITH a "Return Receipt" mailed back to you at YOUR address. It is much better to use their (RPM's) PO Box address because it is difficult for the RPM Rep to skip signing the delivery receipt when it is at the Post Office for pick up.

When you use the Mails, you maintain your protection and have evidence to use against them when it comes time to prosecute them for violating the laws. And they will be breaking many laws. Do your own research for yourself, do not shrug it off because knowledge is power! It will build your confidence when someone else tried to use bully tactics on you again. Read, read, read, write, write, write. Use the laws, it will stop them EVEN IF YOU DID HAVE A DEBT. The most satisfying part of all this is when you win your case and the actual valid debt amount is awarded on your behalf.

Now, go out there as an American Citizen and know the Law.

I googled Receivables Performance Management and called their direct number 866-212-7408 in reqards to phone calls to a friend of mine. It seems that they were calling on a granddaughters debt. Has called my house twice daily for about two weeks saying it a person named Rhonda. Finally called the number back and asked for my daughter saying she owed some money. She asked them to send a bill, which they said they had already done and she had signed for it, which she did no such thing. Then asked for her credit card number. I will be reporting these people to State of CT.

I have been receiving calls from this number, and when they ask to speak to an indiviodual who is deceased, they are informed of such conditions. If they could make my son speak again I would apprericate it, but all they are, are degenrate bill collectors. They tripped themselves up, and exposed who they really are by the 20 telephone numbers. In checking 240-210- 7113, it was found that the main number is 866-212-7408, and when checked belongs to Receivables Performance Management LLC, 20816 44th Ave W. Lynnwood WA. 98036. A company that has over 400 complaints file to the BBB, against them, who also has a rating of " F ". You now have the name and address of this phony company, just look them up, and you will see what garbage they really are. They should have their breathing terminated, for the harassment they cause to innocent people. One can only hope that will occur, for the well being of many.

This company, Receivables Performance Management, has found that it is cheaper to annoy hundreds of innocent people via their autodialed spam calls than it is to do the research to figure out where their debtors really live. It's time to turn the telephone economics against them. Their web site lists these toll-free numbers: 866-212-7408, 888-452-9175, 800-618-6420, and 800-618-8586. A call to a toll-free number from a pay phone results in a charge, usually 30 to 60 cents, to the owner of the toll-free line. Need I say more?

If you want this to stop, call Receivables Performance at their main line which is 1-866-212-7408 and tell them they have the wrong number. They will pull up your name and number when they call so don't worry if they ask if you are the name they ask, tell them you are not that person. Tell them you don't know that person (even if it is you), and that you want this harassment to stop! They will put a "don't call" next to your name and number. You are under no legal obligation to tell them the truth or to tell them who you are. They are a company and are paid to harass you. Don't let them! Lie to them and tell them you are not that person and they will go away. I did this for my Mom who is disabled and can't handle the harassment. This is a sickening business and even if the law wont stand up for our rights, we can do it ourselves!

Was up everybody, I'm here to set the record straight! all over the internet people complain about RPM! why, are you upset you have a bill you never paid. come on now I work for RPM and very proud of my position: if you pay your bills on time, you would never get a call from us right: now yes, occasionally we may have the wr#, LET US KNOW, and i read some posts from people saying were breaking fdcpa rules and regulations by giving there personal info out to their mothers: IF YOUR MOTHER ANSWERS THE PHONE, AND TELLS UP SHE IS YOUR SPOUSE, we have legal right to address her as such: so people tell your mothers, girl friends and sisters to STOP LYING! we know and understand the fdcpa, so for everyone upset about your bills and writing false reports, boo hoo, give me a call at rpm, i'll give you a 50% discount (SETTLEMENT IN FULL) as a matter of fact, my direct ext: is 1390 come holla!: the reason i post this, is because i used to be like some of yall, i wrote all kind of stuff about collection agencies, and im very well versed, UNTIL I STARTED WORKING FOR ONE: now i talk to everyone calling me. were bill collectors but we have debt 2, were no different, believe it or not, were actually here to help. the main reason for people writing blogs about our agency, is not the phone calls, they are upset that after they yell at us and hang up thinking they have the upper hand, 45 days later it appears ON THEIR CREDIT REPORT! hey, we told you to pay before that happends, NOW WHO'S FAULT IS IT REALLY, I mean come on ya'll: people call us scream that we have the wrong number, ok, we notate it, then 2 months later their calling wanting to pay the bill cause its on their credit report! wow NOT A NEGATIVE MARK I WOULD WANT TO HAVE! SO EVERYONE WITH A BILL IN MY OFFICE, CALM DOWN, RELAX AND HIT ME UP SO I CAN SEE WHAT I CAN DO! FEEL FREE TO YELL SCREAM THREATEN, IT'S COO, I'M PAID TO TAKE YOUR CALL, NOT TO MENTION IT'S QUITE ENTERTAINING-GETS ME THROUGH MY DAY: BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT REBUILDING CREDIT, I WILL GENERALLY HELP YOU OUT! Numbers I've tracked to them: 301-882-9952, 877-233-8526, 301-882-9954, 866-212-7408, 877-233-8527, 425-984-6248, 425-984-2252, 425-984-6256, 425-951-0100

I've been getting calls from RPM at the most annoying times. I didn't even know what it was about. I, finally, was available to answer and when I picked up, I was hung up on. I called back and a young lady answered claiming that I owe Cingular 100 and some odd dollars. I had PREPAID phone service with Cingular that I canceled over 6 months ago when I switched cell phone companies. It struck me odd that she asked me if a certain address was mine and when I said no, she never asked me for my current address, but said she was just calling to let me know that they'll be sending out a letter, after I told her that I do not owe this money. Since when do you need to call before you send a letter and wouldn't you want my actual address...and why is this the first time that I'm hearing about a bill when I had automatic payments set-up for years?! Sounds like a scam to me. I'm ready for war!

Here is the company's name, address and a toll free customer service phone number. Unfortunately I have had financial troubles and was late on a utility bill and received a letter from this company regarding the late bill. I don't know how they expected to get in contact with me since whenever they called my phone only rang once and a message was never left. The only reason I knew who they were was because of the letter that was sent to me.
Hope this info can help all of you that are being unfairly harassed by this company.

A scummy collection agency who left multiple rude messages on my cellphone looking for god knows who. Since I don't owe one thin dime to anyone in this world it seems very suspicious.

Hi everyone... Since I used to be a bill collector, I did some research on this company. Yes, it is a collection agency, but what they do is contract out their services to ALL DIFFERENT kinds of business's that need the 'expertice' of a professional collection agency. Receivablesperf might be calling 1 person on an MCI account and might be calling another person on a Wells Fargo account. It just depends.
Just so you know, if you answer, they have to ask for the person who's name is supposedly on their account, then they HAVE to identify themselves by giving you their name and the company their calling from and the company they represent. In order for them to verify they are speaking to the correct person, they CAN ask you to give the "LAST 4 ONLY" of your SS# (but ONLY AFTER they I.D. themselves). NEVER GIVE YOUR WHOLE SS# out anyone for any reason at anytime!!!
If you find that you do not owe the bill, tell them you want them to cease and desist. If you do know you owe this bill, tell them you will only work DIRECTLY with the original creditor.
At that time, get the original creditors number and make comtact with them directly. Trust me, in todays economy, the original creditor will be happy to work out a payment plan with you... (but BEFORE you send in ONE PAYMENT) GET THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT IN WRITING FIRST!!!!!).
I hope this helps.

This message is geared towards the family members of military. There is a thing called the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act formerly known as the Soliders and Saliors act. You can find out stuff about it on the internet the act is found in Title 50 of the US Code section 501-596, or call the base where the military member is staioned and talk to someone in the JAG (Judge Advocte General) office which can be found also on the internet. Hopefully they will be able to help you!

Read this RPM is a Collection agency and not a telemarketing company.

I'm a do not call list( there is no such thing with a collection agency. but if your not that person they are looking for stay on the phone verify the number that we called and they will not call you.

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.

Call several times per day at work. Asking for "Deleon". We are a non-profit medical facility. I advised the woman I spoke to that if she continued to call, they would be reported to our legal department and the FCC. They also called my home after 9PM two weeks ago. I informed them that according to the "Fair Debt Collection Act", that they were committing an illegal act by disturbing us after 9PM and before 7AM. They have since stopped calling my home altogether. If you show that you know something about your rights as a consumer, they get scared and go away. DO NOT PAY this company, pay the original creditor if at all possible. This will prevent most collection fees and sometimes most of the interest charges.

When calling my home, they were trying to collect on a debt incurred 13 years ago that I filed bankruptcy on as well.

THE BILL HAS NO RELEVANCE TO ME, WE HAVE DIFFERENT LAST NAMES AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IT'S NOT MY BILL. WE DO NOT LEAV IN THE SAME HOUSE. THE WOMEN WHOM I SPOKE WITH WERE EXTREMELY RUDE AND WOULD HANG UP ON ME EVERY TIME I ASKED FOR THEIR SUPERVISOR. I ASKED HER, WHY CALL ME, WHEN IT'S NOT MY BILL!!, THEY SAID, "TALK TO YOU MOTHER". I SAID, THAT'S NOT THE POINT, THIS IS NOT MY BILL, SHE DOES NOT LEAVE WITH ME!!.......WE WENT BACK AND FORTH, THEN THEY HUNG UP ON ME. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT REALY UPSET ME. This company has been calling my phone constantly since I first received my current number. It was always an Attorneys Office looking for Ms. Tracy Greene! I always tole them she has never lived here, and that I want them to stop calling my home. This time, the lady said that I would be removed from their list, and I demanded to not be called again. I suspect that they will call again looking for Ms. Greene.

Have been bothered with this company since I moved back to my hometown. They call no lie more than 5 times a day. My answering machine picks up since I am not at home and all they say is Hello Kathleen Hello Hello. I did get a notice in the mail from them about owing over 150.00 to MCI and I haven't had MCI in over 4 years now. My last and final bill was paid and like everyone else when I call to talk to someone there is no one to talk to just automated crap. This "company" called me asking for some mystery person with a name they could not even pronounce properly. I asked them to please repeat the name because I could not understand what they were saying and they gave me a huge attitude. I then got pissed off and told them that I don't know anyone by that name, and they hung up the phone on me. I called them back to let them know that I didn't appreciate how unprofessional they were and to assure that I wasn't called back again. We will have to see what happens.
By the way, I have never owned a MCI phone/cellular, and I don't owe anyone money, so I can't even imagine how I got on their call list to begin with...

I received a call from RPM on Mar 3. The women asked me for information about a neighbor. I asked if this was a collection agency and she said no. I told her she was lying and hung up. Now I have received a letter from RPM stating I owe MCI/world com $57 plus dollars. I have never had an account or any dealing with MCI/worldcom. MCI has changed their name or been sold/merged so it is not possible to contact them. I don't own any company/individual. All my bills are paid on time!
Some government agency should take action against this company.

Absolutely unbelievalbe what these people do. Just received a call about thirty minutes ago from this crazy woman from RMP and we are still trying to recover from her scare tactics, harrassments and rudeness. She wanted us to pay off a delinquent balance in the amount of $500 by check over the phone or else we would be reported to the credit bureaus. We refused because we know that it's BOGUS. She became belligerent. We hung up. We called Sprint who denied any knowledge of this and informed us that the balance on our account is $.71. Is anyone investigating this? Is Sprint addressing this? I am concerned that some poor soul(s) have been/ are being ripped off by this rogue company.

we recived a call from a guy named ryan he said , that you have an outstanding balance to worldcom 8 years ago and asked for my credit card information.. i asked them to send me a bill to support your statement.he refudsed saying they already send me one last year and by law they cannot send more than one.i told them i never recieved a bill last year and if they would please send it again or fax it.he refused again and said if i pay by credit card over the phone he will settle with 50% other wise he will mark my account with " refused " and i will end up paying more money than what i owe.so we started yelling and he then said that this phone call is over when i told him i will call the police on you so he just hung up .i ran my credit report and found out it was clear. all what they are trying to do is make people belive they owe money and they intimidate them that this will ruin their credit. how could someone expect that i wold give my financial iformation over the phone to a stranger.

I've been getting calls for two days from this number. They don't leave messages, but when I picked up last night this rude, highly unprofessional guy says they were asked to call by Verizon telecom, and last night I said "I don't believe you" and the guy pretended to be so shocked, he said "I've never heard that before." I keep getting a call from this number. They say it is in regards to a bill from Sears. I do not have a bill from Sears and the last one that I had was 2 yrs ago and it was paid in full. Tonight I told her she was full of shit, or at least the company she worked for was and to have a nice day. She was trying to back pedal but I hung up on her. If they truly were a reputable company they would mail stuff rather than calling at all hours of the day and night.

Getting calls 1-3 times daily since early December. Have pushed the number asked for "that this person does not live here", but calls continue to come. Most the time we just don't answer at all. Have turned it in to donotcall.com, but so far still calling. Numbers used are 1-425-354-1555, 1556, 1557, 1558 & 1559. These calls are for a nephew we haven't seen in two years & have no clue to his residence. Something must be done to this outfit. They need a new system for getting the information that we have no contact for the person they are looking for.

In 2001/ 2002 mci sent me 2 free phones (said i won them). I was in a good mood and said, okay I will try them and ultimately received them and they were garbage. They then sent me a bill and i refused to pay it. I sent the phones back to the only address that I could find from the original boxes. They hounded me for a couple of years to pay the fees but I refused. Now 6 years later RPM has the account and is trying to get me to pay for the garbage phones. Such a deal.. i can pay 50% of the original charges. Fyi.. 50% of garbage is still garbage and I refuse to pay.

No wonder the CEO of MCI ended up in jail. They are a bunch of crooks.

This number calls my house, my job, and my entire extended family multiple times every day. Normally they do not say anything, they just hang up, often they ask for me. One of these people called my family posing as my girlfriend Jessica asking for information about me. My 12 year old sister answered and told them she did not know where I was.... I again checked the caller id and it showed up as RPM. Apparently they did not get the memo that I filed for bankruptcy over a month ago and legally can no longer be harassed by them. I wish prosecuting them for it was that easy.
