robo calls or whatever... never leave message...been calling for YEARS !!! Even tho I am a private resident, I have the number that used to belong to a defunct small business in my town and I really think they think they are calling it. They have been calling for even on Sundays (2 today). I thought it was illegal for that type of call on weekends ??? They are scum bag nuisances.... pathetic some people can't make a living doing legitimate work and need to resort to this kind of crap !

They have been calling for about a week now----I might get two or three calls from them a day---often with the calls starting right after 8 am and they did call yesterday (a Sunday) at around 9am. After seeing comments on here and doing some Googling on them---I found that they are a collection agency that only buys old discharged debt that has gone beyond the statute of limitations. Their ploy----adding all kinds of fees and interest is to scare people into paying off accounts that the original creditor has already written off.

At this site, many people discuss their interactions with this shady company and how to deal with them---for me--they have not left any messages or sent any letters so I am not gonna respond--and am about to head to Florida for the winter--so at this point--my attitude is "Screw Them"--if they have an issue with me or a relative that has lived here in the past---then they can either leave messages or send a damn letter.

Here is the link to the site discussing how to deal with them:

It is one thing for a debt collection agency to go after people, myself included if I have failed to pay a debt, that is a current debt---but it is one sleazy way to make money going after debtors when the statute of limitations has expired on that debt and they have no legal reason for trying to collect that debt other than just making money---that goes down as pretty fucking evil in my book.

These are terrorists seeking to get your personal information to clear out your banking accounts and run up your credit cards to finance Al Qaeda and the Taliban killing our American military forces and perpetrating cyber attacks on Wall Street, American corporations, and the United States government. If you do any business with these terrorists, YOU ARE A TRAITOR and deserve what is coming to you!

This company has been calling me almost every day for a few years. I picked up the phone and talked to them a few years ago. Seems that they want to collect on an old Discover card debt. I have never had a Discover card and told them so. They asked for my social security #, but no way was I giving that. They asked for the last four digits, I wouldn't give them that but told them if they would give me the last 4 of the one they had, I would verify that it was mine. Gee, they don't seem to trust me with that information either. I figured they Googled a name like mine and called all that was listed. I did tell them that if they did have anything that was mine, then send me proof of the debt in the mail (as they are required by law). Of course, nothing has arrived. It is easier to keep harrassing people on the phone. The way it plays out is they will try to convince you to pay something on the debt and it will go away. But, once you give them a dime, the whole debt is yours and now collectable...even if it was an out of date uncollectable debt. Any payment reinstates the debt

I have received at least a hundred calls from Portfolio Recovery wanting to collect a debt that has met its statutory limit. In order to avoid these calls, I give my MagicJack phone number, which is connected to a ipod, to any possible company that would feed my contact info into a credit profile. I keep the volume turned off on this ipod and I never know when they are calling. It totally solved the problem of unwanted contact with these jokers.

A new number? Do not answer calls from "out of area" or "unavailable" and will add to Call Block.
