Called at 4:33 PM 12/11/08. Left no msg. Caller ID'd as "Florida."

Googled it and found this and many other reports/complaints about the "automobile warranty about to expire" scam attempts.

I've gotten at least 25 calls from at least 13 different numbers, almost all of which caller ID as "Florida" since December of 2007.

Here are the numbers (in order of use):

850-433-1850
850-638-9224
305-672-6663
321-504-7429
321-729-9349
386-738-4001
863-467-8918
772-978-0477
1 305-362-5314
1 305-408-6643
1 850-230-8870
1 850-626-1361
1 407 251-6572

A new number shows up about each month. They're "spoofing" caller ID, and and the phone numbers. They're also obviously changing to "new" numbers to avoid detection & countermeasures. Such as "Blocked Caller" lists.

I'm sharing this info with my Maryland Attorney General's Office and a major local TV outlet (WBAL-TV 11, Baltimore). As a result of a WBAL-TV investigative report on these "Florida" phone scammers, the OAG has promised an aggressive investigation to find and prosecute them ... and - to coordinate efforts with other states's AG's.

So - FILE FORMAL COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR RESPECTIVE STATES'S ATTORNEYS GENERAL OFFICES and share this information with them.

Have recieved repeated calls from this number even though we are on Do Not Call List. The call starts as recording, but if you follow instructions you can reach a live person. We have warned them twice not to call and asked to be taken off of the list...to no avail obviously. It is a telemarketing ploy that needs to be reported.

Pre-recorded threatening message from "Credit Services." Pressed 1 and spoke to Ryan. he wanted to know if I was responding to a credit service. What other scams are they doing? When I told him I was DNC and had no credit cards he hung up. When numbe is re-dialed it is a disconnected number. VERIZON WILL NOT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I'm getting really tired of this same outfit continuing to scam people year after year out of Florida. What are they doing down there about this? Obviously nothing. I also want to point out that the 3 people I have spoken to about their "credit services" have ethnic speech patterns. I know it's not pc to say it, but they sound black.

It's Christmas time, and the scammers are busy trying to con you out of your money. Don press any of the numbers that the voice message suggest. Remember to file a complaint with your local police department.

I receive telephone spams almost everyday although my number has been registered on No Call Registry. Those calls are for lowering interest rates, car payments, or credit card payments. 850-230-8870 is one of them but when I return this number, I am told that the number is dionnected. Strange(!?). I submitted complaints but the governmet won't do anything.

Received similar call as other. When I pressed one and the caller answered, I asked why they were calling me. She gave a quick statement about lowering interest rates. When I asked why they were calling to solicit, she stated: "I wouldn't say that." I also mentioned being on the do not call list. When I asked what benefit they would get from the lowering of my interest rates she stated they get a portion of the saved finance charges. I then stated that that is a solicitation she again stated that "I wouldn't say that." She then quickly hung up on me.

I constantly get calls from this number (and others) with a computer-generated voice saying "Don't be alarmed." I usually hang up but stayed on one time to see what they wanted. A long message about auto-warranties. I never did get a "Live" person.

Have received this call each of the last three days. Computer-generated voice; always starts out the same --> "Hello, don't be alarmed, ..." at this point I usually hang up, but I am suspicious of the call ...
