Same caller (This is Corey ... id-theft scam) see: http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/818-870-5077 http://whocalled.us/lookup/978-570-2361 http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-818-870-8183

Caller-ID is forged (at least the name, and probably the number, too) Most recent call (2008-05-26) claimed to be "MCCAIN 2008", but that's one of a dozen or more -- all different -- this week. Calls cellphone, calls home, calls office ... Where's the FCC when you need them?

morgandrexen.com and clandarkstar.com (mentioned above) are both registered anonymously via "proxy"s see: http://open-whois.org/lookup.cgi?domain=clandarkstar.com&record=2007-01-24%2014:25:08 for example, hosted on Lunarpages, whereas morgandrexen.com is hosted on another popular scam-hosting place Time-Warner Telecom.

There is no (current) reason to disbelieve that this is, indeed, Liberty Managment / Broadcom actually doing the calls.

This damn "Corey" is rotating his forged Caller-ID. Recorded call. ID-theft racket. I have seen at least a dozen different fake caller-ID claims in the past week. It is always the same recording: "Hi! This is Corey." and then some crap about debt reduction -- dial one (where they hang up immediately if you complain or ask to be removed).

I pity whoever recorded the announcement, if he is a professional "voice" -- his career is OVER, until he sues the fraud-artist successfully and with great publicity.

Related numbers (all of 'em may be forged Caller-ID): See also http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/818-870-5077 http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-818-870-8183 and http://whocalled.us/lookup/231-732-2400

I have asked 5 times to be removed from their list. I have pressed "1" to speak to a "customer service rep", but when I ask them to speak to a supervisor or what their company name is they hang up. There must be some way to get rid of these calls. I am also getting pre-recorded car warranty calls as often.

Recording from Lisa at Satellite TV company using this number. Pressed 1 to speak to operator it clicked around and hung up. This call immediately after Cory of Intercounty Records called from Debt Reduction Services. During dinner. Again. And again.

Called at 5:38 pm on a Mon. Prerecorded message in a male voice said that this is Cory from Intercounty Records. He went on about interest rates going up and his debt reduction program. I was to press a number to speak to someone. I keep getting calls like this. Almost all the telemarker calls are prerecorded. A car warranty called me up every single day, sometimes multiple times a day for months upon end. I am not exagerating. I get health care and debt reduction. I need none of these services, and all require me to follow directions to speak with them. There needs to be penalties for prerecorded calls, and a mechanism for collecting them. There needs to be more than the DNC list, which the car warranty co drove me to twice. Another debt reduction one called last week but had no number or ID. I pressed the number and the woman was curt and hung up on me midsentence even though I was not using foul language or chewing her out. All she wanted to know was whether I had a balance on the credit card, and if she thought I wasn't going to patronize her, I was as disposible as a piece of trash. We are not people to these callers, just sources of $ to be bilked and items to be taken advantage of.

They called my state-issued cell phone today. This phone is for State Police and is to be used for work-related calls ONLY. I answered the phone while on duty and got an automated message (sales pitch), so I hung up.

Received call in afternoon, didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. Left the following message: "This is Chris St. James with BroadCom at 800-210-2892. I am calling regarding your credit card balances and the minimum payments that are going up."

Called but I wasn't home, so I tried to call the number back and got a "do-do-do" We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dial. Please hang up and try again or call the operator for assistance. However, it was very noisy in the background, like that may have been there own recording. What a joke!

Third!!!!!!! Dish Network illegal (pre-recorded) call TODAY. The first 2 were on my unlisted cellphone! See http://whocalled.us/comment/818-870-8183 and http://whocalled.us/comment/818-887-8183 (which was accidentally the wrong number entered into whocalled.us) for legal references, and URLs to information on the web. This time, I was quick to hit "1" when offered. I was congenial with the guy who answered, but insistant that I wanted to know if it was Dish Networks or a hired service FOR Dish Networks that he was working for. He insisted that it was actually Dish Networks, and then was immediately replaced with a recorded announcement that the number had been removed from their calling list. (I never got the chance to ask to be removed).

This outfit has called with recorded messages on my cell TWICE today, already. Not only is there nobody there, but it's a defective recording, and the only option is 1 to contract for Dish Net services.

I will NEVER purchase ANYTHING that I can tell is connected with Dish Networks! Such nuisance calls (and e-Mail spam before that) have been going on for YEARS! As far as I am concerned, they already owe me service (or payment) for HOURS of wasted time due to their unsolicited and unwanted contacts.

I was cross-eyed enough that it turns out it was 818-870-8183, not (818) 887-8183 but I don't see any way to correct it -- so see http://www.whocalled.us/lookup/818-870-8183 and http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-818-870-8183 whocalled.us won't take this full rant, anyways, on one listing, so part of it will go over to the RIGHT number.

The interesting thing is that I am in Wyoming, and Wyoming Consumer Protection laws FORBID this kind of call by any business, whereever located. Since Wyoming has one unique area code, and my cellphone is in that area code, the caller has no excuse to not know that. It's obviously a "recorded advertisement" business.

So, the state or some sharp lawyer could OWN these companies, just from the punitive damages! There is zero doubt in my mind that they use a sequential dialer, with NO checks for "listed" numbers, and that "discovery" would prove that.

Note also, that while "good faith error" is a defense for National "Do Not Call" list, it is NOT a defense for calling unlisted numbers!
