Bought a web camera the other day. Anyone knows a free site where I can talk to people?
Thanks in advance, please answer me in this thread or PM me.

Houses and cars are quite expensive and not everyone is able to buy it. However, http://lowest-rate-loans.com was invented to aid different people in such kind of cases.

Same as all the other reports, they keep calling and claim they have the last 4 digits of my credit card number. My question is do they actually charge your credit card?? Anyone know?

Thank God for google! These people have been calling me nonstop for the past week, 5+ times a day. I have not yet answered the call (only because I am usually at work & my phone is on silent) I'll answer it next time and let you know what is said. Definitely scammers. I tried calling the number back and got the "out of service" Verizon message. The number calling me is 813-541-0001

They have called me at least 15 times in the last 72 hours. I answered, they said they were giving away free stuff and I asked how much does it cost. She said $8.95. And I'm thinking, yeah, then you'll charge me monthly for more. I said I wasn't interested in there $1000.00 shopping spree and not to call again. They called again and I told them agian a 2nd time not to call, and he said that's a shame, you will miss out on free stuff. I said DO NOT CALL AGAIN and humg up. They of course called again and I said I told you people to stop calling me. And he said, Can't help it and hung up. How do I stop these people? I there anything that can be done? This is downright harrasment! Any ideas, anyone!

This number has been harrasing me none stop. They have read me off the last digits of my old debit number. I had to shut down my debit card and get a new one becuase of these people from this certian phone number. They keep harrassing me trying to get my new debit number. They call me twice daily now. This morning when they called I held the phone up to my stereo and turned the music on high, then I waited for them to hang up which didnt take long. I traced the phone number then I got a police report done. All I know about this scam is that they are from Tampa Florida. I want to find out what their address and name of business or their names. I plan on pressing charges for harrassment. I have read the comments and I can clearly see that I am not the only person these people are attempting to scam.

This moron is the worst scammer ever. But i like catching him off guard when he calls. Its funny to listen to this scammer stumble over his words when i answer the phone {city morgue} or other creative ways. Ooh yeah try going to www.ebaumsworld.com and use the voice soundboard to talk to him in different celebrity voices that is also great. I almost feel bad that im messing with him so bad but its too funny he keeps calling. Also if you tell him your gonna put him on hold while you get who he's calling for this idiot will hold for an extended period of time. He should at least learn how to scam better than this.

I spoke to a representative for the second time today and I specifically asked if they were a telemarketer and the rep who was a man claimed that he was and I asked what his name was I think it was Matthew?; then I asked if he can remove the number from the call list, the person only replied by hanging up. I called back 3 times and kept getting hung up on... Mind you I live in San Diego, CA.

Called again this morning. I started asking questions this time, and the idiot actually tried answering me. He didn't know who he was working for, he and his supervisor claimed to never have heard of United Marketing Group or that they went to court in Oklahoma. I told them I reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and so on. And then the "supervisor" got on the phone as the bonehead who was taling yelled across the room at him. He said that they weren't trying to sell me anything and hadn't offered anything (this time because I talked first). I asked about the phone number being a verizon wireless number no longer in service, and the super said that it was a computer and I can't talk to a computer, (despite the message saying that it was out of service!) He went on to give me the customer service number which I will post if I find it and told me of some discount shoppers club that they worked for. He said that I didn't have a choice and their package was coming regardless because of my record with my card (BS). Then he said they would put me on their in house no call list and I haven't heard from them since...we'll see.

Got two more calls yesterday, I missed one and answered the other, I asked the dumb as* why when I called the number on my caller id back, it said the number was not in service. He just hung up. Why are there NO agencies to bust these guys? This is beyond ethical. The companies selling our information should be put in prison. We've got to do something!

These guys have now called me twice and won't remove me from their list. I got nasty with the last bozo that called me and he started talking about my "mama". I informed him of what an idiot he was and he said that they are going to keep calling me and then hung up. This is the edited version of course, but what can we do to get these guys to stop this BS?

"Jim", from "Your VISA card", called me saying that I am eligible for some rewards card. He was readily able to cite my name, home address, phone number, and the last four digits of my VISA card. He couldn't tell me what bank my VISA card was issued by. He couldn't give me a superior to talk to or contact, and eventually he hung up after 5 minutes of me insisting that he give me his superior's contact info.

I didn't have my phone with me but I listened to the voice mail message. It was some classical music (actually one of my favorite pieces) with people talking in the background. Then someone said something but it was really garbled. It went on for a while.

I've received lots of calls from 702-553-0594, 800-266-9420, 813-541-0001 and 800-871-0631 (as well as lots of restricted, unavailable & 000-000-0000 caller IDs.)

They all loop back to a few organizations: Adaptive Marketing LLC, UMG, plus a couple of others.

Their conduct constitutes violations of federal telemarketing laws (calling DNC numbers, concealing caller IDs or company names, etc.), harassment, intimidation, retaliation and assault (cursing at us when we don't buy their garbage). These violations are worth at least $10,000 PER CALL so get a percentage-based attorney and go make some money!

I have to add a side note: do not listen to any input from any person that fails to consider the legal ramifications of the actions and conduct of these organizations. I have to wonder about the motives of people who seem to believe it is legal for organizations to harass and intimidate people into accepting charges for services that we do not want and who also advocate that it is somehow legal for those same entities to blatantly ignore and violate the law in an attempt to increase revenues. It makes me think that in addition to being egregiously incorrect in their conclusions perhaps they also work for the same organizations that are harassing all of us.

54 calls from this number since 12-27. Kids and tv in the background on some occassions. Very persistant. Finally listened to the entire call. Sounded like an Eastern Indian accent(female). Leading questions to get me to say "yes" or "okay". Be careful and report these folks.

They kept calling me non stop for the past 3 or 4 days. They said that they wanted to send me $40 in gas, $1000 in an online shopping spree and 14 hours in long distance calling. I got my name removed but I think it's linked to Adaptive Marketing LLC and might have something to do with the Hulk Hogan grill I got my mom for christmas. Especially since thats the only place I bought anything with my cell phone number. Be careful what you buy online!

I talked to these people for a little while, they told me i was eligible to win a gas card and shopping spree for groceries and wanted to send me free info on some programs. When I asked what kind of programs i was given the run around and told i just had to pay for shipping on this free info. I was told i was being recorded about three times during the call but i repeatedly told they guy that i don't have a credit card and requested to be put on the do not call list. There is big money to gain by suing a company that harasses you over and over. I know!

I keep getting calls from this number at least 4 to 5 times a day, it has been going on for about 3 or 4 days now. Last night I picked up and it was a hispanic man, but I couldn't understand him so I hung up. When I try to call the number back it says the number is not in service.

Got them on hold...put them under the pillow...they've been under there for the past 34 minutes. These people have driven me crazy for DAYS. So now, it's time for pay-back. Not sure yet when I'll hang up...enjoying racking up their long distance bill for them. Wonder if this will cure anything. (update later...)

We had the exact same incident as Matt. They had the last 4 of a visa and an old address. So, I knew it was a scam from the beginning. Except I enjoy confrontation so I went along with the phone call. I told him I wouldn't verify any data but he could send me any free stuff to the address he had and the post office would ensure it made it to me. After I belittled the caller, his "supervisor" came on the line, then I insulted him and asked him to come by for a visit. He told me "whatever, I'll give the deal to the next caller" then he hung up on me. This was at 2053, 01/23/07. They called again this morning at 0953, 01/24/07. The funny thing is we dont have an active visa card :). Thanks Zen Girl, the scam site with the recorded phone call was very helpful. I called the IL number and they said they would remove my number from their list.

I got a call from this number starting 1/15, have family in Florida and answered the call thinking it was a new number. The number shows registered through Verizon Wireless and the caller ID shows it as a cellular call. They said they were from Visa and gave me the last 4 of my bank card number and address and told me they wanted to enter me in a sweepstakes. I told them I was interested and not to call back, they keep calling 5 or 6 times a day.
