THIS IS NOT CHASE. I received a voice message from this number claiming to be 'Chase Fraud'. They left a message for me to call a different number. I called the number on the back of my Chase card. Chase reviewed my recent charges and identified a fraudulent charge, and cancelled my card immediately.

It is a scam! 1800-955-9060 is NOT Chase! I reported it to Chase after receiving a letter. The correct # is the one on the back of your card 800-955-8060!

This is a legitimate number for Chase. I called the number and the number on the back of my card. Customer Service, from the number on the back of my card, confirmed the Fraud Department had called me. My CID did show a call from Chase, even though it was not the same one given in the message. When I spoke to the person in the Fraud Department, he told me the charges that had been made to my account. I was looking at my account online at the time. He went through them and asked me to verify if I had made them. I confirmed that I had. He explained that some establishment, where I had used my card, had reports of unauthorized activity (he said he could not be more specific than that). In order to safeguard my card, they will close it and reissue one with a new number. When I called Customer Service, I verified that the card has been closed.

That's Chase Fraud Prevention Department. Caller ID shows up as 847-488-6000 and they ask you to call them back at 800-955-9060. For me, they asked me to verify some charges. I live in CA and there were a couple charges made in Moscow Russia. Also other charges made from an INN and a Motel. Thank goodness for this department or else these charges would have gone through.

Most definitely is. I called it after a rep left me a voice mail.

After entering my account number they asked a security question (machine knew the answer going in...presumably)

Then when I spoke with a rep they had me confirm my birth date.

Afterward the rep started listed off charges in the last week or so. A $1 "make sure the card works" charge set off the alarm. It was Square Enix for an online game you have to pay monthly for. They make sure the card works before you start playing and prorate you after the 30 day trial.
