Randall: Try to wring a business name from a caller if you happen to be home. The rep cannot refuse to tell you. Given the age of this thread, I don't doubt it's AI pestering you. Since you're not the target of the skip trace, send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one.
Brookwood: Collector phrases like ''important personal business'' and ''important business matter'' are typical when trying not to break the privacy regs within FDCPA. Your verbal no-call demands will likely be ignored. See my response to Randall if you're certain no debt account can be attached to you. If you're not sure, wait a few days for the required dunning letter and dispute in writing, requesting debt validation and any restrictions you like on phone calls.

I just called this number 8009553103 and they said they are "Allied" so I asked if it was a collection agency and they said they are "calling about a matter" so I told them not to call this number again.I don't know when they called, but I had 3 missed calls from them, and returned a call at 2:44pm.
Multiple calls from this number. Never leaves voice mail, but always calls during normal business hours when many people are not at home, but instead at work.
Based on comments I'm reading here, it's probably a collection agency calling, and they want to talk to the people who previously had my home phone number.
So Chris, this Allied rep now thinks he has a permissible purpose to invite your entire extended family to a skip tracing block party because you won't confirm identity. I don't think the FTC would see it that way, which permits limited skip tracing for determining "location", not indirect harassment. Read the laws and give Allied your own "good news" by Certified mail.

I have been receiving calls from this number for about 4 weeks now. They usually leave a message from Ken Bush, asking me to call back. I answered the phone on this date when "Ken" asked me to confirm my name, address, phone, social security number, bank account number, etc. He told me he had "good news" for me - all I had to do was confirm that it was me. I did not confirm that it was me, and asked him to stop harassing me and to remove my number from his database. I am not interested in his "good news." He told me he would not do that and that he would continue to call. He accused me of having something to hide - because that would be the only reason I might not give my personal information over the phone. He has now also begun to call relatives and who knows who else. That is unnacceptable.
If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the Federal law which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.
From the rise in recent complaints, I see Allied Interstate has been quite busy hustling accounts. In October 2010 they racked up a $1.75 million fine, the second largest for the debt industry, for chronic violation of the FDCPA. Allied execs must reason that they should pay their bill with your money instead of theirs.
Both Bob and Fred have reported punishable offenses by Allied, indicating "business as usual" and an ongoing need for complaints to the FTC and state attorneys general. If a critical complaint mass is created, we can have another Camco-style house wrecking party for Allied.

They Knowingly were calling about a debt a person who does not reside at the number they called. I spoke to them several times and informed them of this. Reported them to the FTC.
I just called the main headquarters 800-955-3103
and they gave me another number to call and get my name off the list 866-396-7769
(866-396-7770 never answered when I called) I was told my number was already off their list but they were looking for someone named Alicia.NOT ME but a weird answer...dont you think?
So here is to hoping I am really off the "list"
God almighty do we live in America? Harrassment, govt agency of do not call list that doesn't work, invasion of privacy, yada yada yada. Now some stupid debt collection by the name of Allied calling every day as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 10:30 p.m. Who needs this s**t?
ALLIED INSURANCE - 10:06am; 10/22/2010 said they
would remove the number from the list. They were
looking for a person that didn't even reside at the
number they called so many times.

I think they are collection agency as the person they asked for left a lot of unpaid debts - we used to get calls daily about them. (They had this phone # 4 years ago.)

It is Allied Interstate, a collection agency. They have multiple clients including progress energy. I am not working so I told them I'm not paying yet. We made arrangements but they still insist on calling from random numbers like no one uses Google. I hope this helps someone out.
This person keeps calling for a person who never had my phone number now ever lived at my address. Asked to
be taken off their calling list and was told it would take 48 hrs. This same call has been received numerous
times about a yr. ago asking for the same person. I have had numerous people tell me they have received the
same call for the same person. Is this some company one who goes through the phone book and calls anyone looking to find a person. This should be looked into.
Rec'd a message to call 'Allied Interstate'...the woman asked me for the number I was calling from, which I gave, though why she doesn't have Caller ID like I do, who knows. Asked to verify the name of a "Warren Wright" whom I do not know. She stated she would remove me as a contact for this person.
Not very forthcoming about details as to why my number was called in the first place and when I asked why I was contacted she said for "debt collection".
Called my cell twice and did not leave a message. Call the number back and was only told they represent a number of companies and could only tell me who was calling if I gave them my number. Of course I am not going to do that. Filed a complaint with the FCC here https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/1088gform.do
No company provided, called for a name that did not reside at our number, and would not identify themselves, but wanted to verify phone number, then hung up when asked who they were!
This number calls constantly. When someone speaks, they ask for a name that is never mine. Sometimes, no one speaks, but you can hear a machine. I found these calls disturbing, so am delighted to have found this site. I feel better now that I know the identity of the caller, and am confident that the calls have nothing to do with me. The fact that they block their identity should not be allowed.
They call and hang up...
Don't know who this company is...but if it is Allied Interstate BEWARE...
These sites can be very HELPFUL...
I've only had this cell phone for 2 weeks and this number is constantly calling. I believe it must be Allied like the other people on here mentioned. Same results of not leaving messages and calling at strange hours.
Called at 8:15 on Saturday morning. After 3 requests, called identified company as "Direct Energy." Asked for person with same first name as mine, but different last name. Said she would mark our number as not belonging to the person she's looking for. Same number called us multiple times 3 years ago so I guess we've been lucky not being harassed again until now.
Caller identified herself as being with Direct Energy. Have called my home and cell many times.
Allied Interstate will not stop calling me...even after I told them I never heard of the person they asked for...Ive had my cell number for over 10 years!
In one day Allied Interstate called me from 866-396-7770 at:
And that was after telling them Saturday (July 4th) that the female name they were looking for is not and never had my number (i'm male btw).

This bottom-feeder, Allied Interstate, is a third or fourth level collection agency at:
Allied Interstate, Inc, 3111 S. Dixie Hwy., Suite 101, West Palm Beach, FL 33405,
, Fax: 561-671-6040
. They buy-up old collection records and try to collect on them. Since the accuracy of such records is always questionable, they often call looking for people you've never heard of. They will threaten you, cuss and swear at you and call you at all hours of the day and night. A company like it was featured on 20/20 awhile back. The only people who are lower than these are the 419 Nigerian scam people. The caller ID number is routed through several different exchanges through different states. Calling the company number gets you nowhere, as they won't fess-up to being financial sucker-fish. Someone should speak to them manually as electronic communication is completely ignored.
Called on my phone as well 2wice by now.
No Idea what is that...
Calls and hangs up when I answer - no message that I remember getting. The reason I found out about the company is because I searched the number on google.com. I thought it was my ex-husband or a friend of his before researching on the internet.

I get these calls at all hours of the night. They never leave a message and I have told them they have the wrong number several times. They keep calling.
I have received numerous calls from this number - on my newly acquired cell phone - I don't answer and they don't leave a message.

They call every night. I started receiving calls from this # after I visited a car dealership. They never leave a message.
