Definitely sounds like a scam. Never give credit card info over the phone.
I told them I was too busy and asked for a number to call them back. The number they gave was 1-800-943-3250.

All have appeared on my cid in the last year.Normally, I do not answer long distance numbers like this, but one day this winter my DUMB fiancee answered it and they claimed that I owed them a cell bill from Rogers Wireless, which was cancelled more than 5 years ago after a service and billing dispute, which i thought had been cleared up since. The "lady" was quite rude and started to rant at him on the phone, demanding me. When I took the phone, I just listened for a min and heard her continue to rant.It made me sooo mad!! I told her to F#@% off, and to not call here anymore,I do not owe!Since then, they call me EVERY DAY, SEVERAL times a day from these different numbers, never the same one twice in a row. From what I have read they are considered scam artists because people who have never had the service, or, like me, do not owe on a previous service, are also being targeted. The numbers seem to all go through an Ottawa relay # 613-567-3100.They have a history of changing their company name, thus collecting the aforementioned phone numbers, but it is all the same company. They also try to tell people that they are a risk management company, and claimed a couple other company titles as well..IT IS A LIE!!They apparently also seem to be violating several laws regarding debt collection. If you are forced to talk to them for any reason, tell them you are setting up a call trace through your phone company.Request that they do not call you back, but, if they do, then you are going to record your conversations.Try to get a name each time they call, then tell them to send a letter requesting the collection to the address they have listed.. DO NOT GIVE THEM AN ADDRESS IF THEY ASK!!If they argue, say that if they really do have a bill, then they have the info already!!Calling on Sundays is also illegal.Whatever you do, DO NOT VOLUNTEER ANY INFO WHATSOEVER!! I cannot emphasise this enough! Then go through with your threats. It may cost a few bucks, but if they are a shady company, they need to be shut down!Trust me, the harassment will not stop by ignoring them! They do not abide by the collection laws! They also seem to enjoy harassing people. No joke. They will threaten you. They will be abusive and rude. They are persistent. They do not care that it is 7 am and you have small kids, are very ill, that the person does not live in your household,or is dead,or that you do not owe.The only way to get rid of them is to follow the steps above..do not be afraid to threaten them, they are menacing and threatening and harassing YOU! You should not be stressed every time your phone rings. You have the power to stop them if you fight back.Good luck!I hope I can help someone out there, and if we stand up to them collectively, we'll get rid of them!:)
P.S.- I have also called Rogers to complain. They said they would get back to me,and follow-up calls to them have not produced tangible results as of yet..it has been over a month since I started THAT phone chase, so, while I advise you to call, and you may get different results, depending on your situation,it may not stop them either. Also, if you call them back, or if you are on hold YOU ARE CHARGED long distance!!

Disturbing Sexual Harassment Call!! On March 2, at 3:42 pm, I had a call recording asking if I wanted to lower my credit card interest rate. This same place has called several times before so instead of hanging up, I pushed 9 as requested to speak to someone. I asked the man where he was calling from and his name. He had a Middle Eastern accent and said his name was Ronnie Garcia, and he was from Mutual Consolidated Savings. I asked what # he was calling from and was given 800-943-3250. I asked him what state he was calling from and how the weather was there, he told me Detroit, and it had been raining. I live an hour from Detroit and knew that wasn’t true, and told him so. I then told him that this was some sort of a scam, why was he calling, we are on the Do Not Call List, and don’t want to be harassed by their calls anymore.
He got upset and said to me “Oh did you call me because you wanted to such my cock.” I got really upset and was trying to tell my husband what he was saying. I don’t have speaker phone, and in the meantime this man was going on and on. When I put the phone to my ear again he was saying something about “you want me to eat your pussy.”
I was very upset and asked to speak to his supervisor, who told me his name was Sam Raz. He asked me to repeat what the other man had said to me, so it could be recorded. When I asked why he replied, “so we can kick his ass.”
Our caller ID shows the call came from Orlando, Fl. and the # was 407-999-8888. When I called it back a recording says it is disconnected or no longer in service.
I am very upset about this terrible incident and I still am still traumatized by this experience. I am just in disbelief that this happened and can’t stop thinking about it. How many other women have experienced such verbal sexual harassment from MCS and are afraid, embarrassed or don’t know how to report it? Something should be done to stop this whover they are, they should be able to track them down to where the calls come from. Why doesn't the real Mutual Consolidated go after them?

This number absolutely does not belong to Mutual Consolidated Savings. MCS explicitly presents our CID numbers as an actual working toll free 800 number that is answered by customer service or sales staff.

In regards to the comment from Chrysta, please be aware that contrary to what appears to be her irrational belief; harassing a legitimate business is no more legal than harassing an individual, and very well might incur unintended consequences by the individual conducting the action. It certainly won't help you, it's probably a waste of your time unless you are very bored, and finally, it's just bad manners.

You can read our compliance policy and access our internal DNC registry yourself at www.mcsdnc.com or if you're in need of help with your finances, are a customer that needs help, or just prefer talking on the phone, call us at 800.943.3250, and finally don't forget that you can visit www.mcsprograms.com and www.aboutmcs.com Thanks!

I have received many of calls from this company.

My dad has researched the number and found out that it is a company called Mutual Consolidated Services. He has a very effective way of getting these calls to stop.

1. He calls their 800 # 877-891-1348 or 800-943-3250.
2. He asks for Chris the compliance officer.
3. He tells Chris "Do not call my number! If you do, this is what will happen, for every one of your calls, I will call 100 times and bother you because you are bothering me!"

This is not illegal to do. It ties up their lines and it's makes him VERY angry! If he says he's going to call 18 division Police department, tell him he's full of it, cause there is no such thing!
And if you want to throw something else in there to make him know you're serious.
I have also emailed them this,
To Whom it may concern,

My name is Chrysta, number is ***-***-****. I will make you remember this number quite well if you do not take the following actions promptly! I have received many of calls from your company and I have requested to be removed from your calling list a numerous amount of times and really would like these calls to stop!

I WILL be removed from your calling list and I PROMISE you, I WILL take the following action! If I receive one more call I will email you my phone number 100 times because apparently you are unable to remember it.

Yours Truly,
Chrysta

they called me so I sent them this;

Apparently you didn't take my promise seriously. I warned you that if i received another call from your company i would email you my phone number 100 times due to the fact you can't seem to remember it. I have phoned you and emailed you and you didn't follow through....

So here we go!
...........
Needless to say, Chris emailed me back re-assuring me that he has removed my number from the list.
I informed him I follow through with my promises and I emailed him 100 times. I am sure he's not happy right now... oh well!

This is a very effective way to deal with this company because my dad is not receiving anymore calls!

Good Luck and have fun!!!

I am a recent former employee from Mutual Consolidates Savings. They are a complete scam. They engage in so much fraudulent activity it is only a matter of time before they are thrown in prison.

Their main number is 1-800-943-3250. This number will usually not be given to you, but if it is, IMMEDIATELY CALL AND REQUEST TO CANCEL, AND INFORM THEM THAT YOU WILL BE SPEAKING TO YOUR BANK TO FORCE THE MONEY FROM THEM BACK INTO YOUR ACCOUNT. They will try to convince you against your will not to do this or that you don't have the right to, or that you were recorded saying that you authorized the charge, but DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. recording will not hold up in court, and tell your bank that they promised other things to you that were not on the recording.

They contract out with companies in PAKISTAN, FLORIDA, and the UK to call AMERICAN AND CANADIAN CITIZENS TO SCAM THEM FROM THEIR MONEY.

Those companies are: JPM, Accelerated Financial, AFC, Home Lenders Group, Dequattro Marketing, and a few others. AGAIN, REQUEST THE MAIN NUMBER FOR MUTUAL CONSOLIDATED SAVINGS, LLC AT 1215 Earnest South Brazil in Tacoma, WA, (or Google them) and GET THE MAIN NUMBER OF 1-800-943-3250 and AND TELL THEM YOU WILL NOT ACCEPT THE PACKAGE, ASK FOR A REFUND, DO NOT LISTEN TO THEIR EXCUSES, and then IMMEDIATELY CALL YOUR BANK AND TELL THEM YOU DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE CHARGE AND YOU NEED THEM TO FORCE THE MONEY BACK INTO YOUR ACCOUNT (some banks call this a "chargeback" request).

Again, I am a recent former employee of this company. In fact, not just a former average joe working the phones, but a RECENT former employee with high-level access to almost EVERY piece of information at this company. Before I begin snitching these people out, I have to tell you that every single person at this company uses fake names over the phone.

The parent company of Mutual Consolidated Savings is United Savings Center. They are owned by a man who calls himself "Paul Thompson." This may or may not be his real name. His cell phone number is 253-224-9500. He is an ex-pimp and drug dealer who may or may not be using this fraudulent business operation to wash his money from a prostitution ring he is running in Tacoma, WA.

His wife and co-operator calls herself "Jessica Buzzard". Her real name is Jessica Sewald - again, this may be false information, too. Her cell phone number is 253-224-0200. She assists her husband Paul (they're actually not even married, but have been together for some years) in running the prostitution ring and in putting out the fires (by lying, of course) caused by the fraudulent operations they engage in.

The "Ops Director" if you can call her that, calls herself "Rachel Derricks", but her real name is Amanda Cavender - and even that may not be her real name. Her cell phone number is 253-228-3266. She assists in stealing money from customers' credit card accounts by ensuring that, if a recording of a customer authorizing the charge can be construed as such, the money can be either double-charged or taken out the very day of the phone, even though the customer may have been told the money would NOT be taken out for some other length of time.

The Compliance Officer is Christopher Trescothick. This may or may not be his real name. His cell phone number has changed since last I knew about it, so it does no good to list it. He assists partially in running some aspects of the various websites the company operates, as well as in deflecting complaints from customers they have called who are on the National Do Not Call lists. He is also responsible for contracting out the various other telemarketing call centers who perform the majority of the work for this company.

One of the "customer service supervisors" at this company is a boy who calls himself "Armand Avery." His duty here is to take over calls for telemarketers and convince people to buy the product by lying to them, and to recieve calls from people who want to cancel, and tell them they cannot, for any reason. He was recently arrested and convicted for Possession of Stolen Property (he helps run the drug-dealing and prositution ring with the owner and older employees), Theft of Means (stealing a car), Sales Of A Controlled Substance To An Undercover Officer, and Possession and Distribution of a Controlled SUbstance. He has been convicted and is awaiting sentencing. While he awaits his sentencing, he gets paid to help this company steal money from Canadians and good hard-working Americans.

If convinced to buy into this scam, you will be told that a "Specialist" will call you to go over your debt. These "Specialists" are in a room run by a woman who goes by the name "Joanne." SHe's supposed to be the "supervisor/manager". Her duty is to ensure that when a customer who calls in after never being contacted back (as they were promised), they are given the run-around by being passed among different people and "departments" until such time has passed that the client may not have a claim to a refund.

Customers are told that there is "no cancellation policy", meaning that once they steal the money from your account, they won't be giving it back. Ever. For some odd reason, there is a "cancellations" Department (even though there is a "no-cancel" policy, for customers who call back to request their money back. The purpose of this department (actually four girls) is to flat-out deny the refund request, unless a customer says, "I AM TALKING TO MY BANK ABOUT THIS" or "I AM INITIATING A CHARGEBACK." Once they cancellation agents hear these words, they attempt to convince the customer to accept a PARTIAL REFUND. IF THE CUSTOMER ACCEPTS A PARTIAL REFUND, no matter how much or how little, THEY ARE NO LONGER LEGALLY ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND. If you are a customer in charge-back proceedings, DO NOT COOPERATE WITH MCS,LLC on any terms, and ONLY TALK TO YOUR BANK. Do not accept ANY MONEY BACK FROM MCS, LLC - ONLY TALK TO YOUR BANK, who will get it ALL back forcefully FOR YOU.

THe "Specilaists" who handle your account are actually local prostitutes, drug dealers, and street thugs (I kid you not, I could not make this up, I swear) from the general area of Tacoma, WA who are in a bad spot and need some extra cash. NO SPECIALISTS AT THIS COMPANY have legitimate degrees from any reputable schools, let alone financial or legal degrees. NO SPECIALISTS AT THIS COMPANY have legitimate certifications for anything in the financial field.

NO SPECIALISTS AT THIS COMPANY are licensable or bondable.

ALl AGENTS AT THIS COMPANY have criminal backgrounds in everything from POssessin Of A Controlled Substance to Fraud.

When convinced to buy into this scam, you will be told that you will recieve a package containing a book, CDs, and some forms to fill out. The book is titled, "Talk Your Way Out Of Credit Card Debt". It's full of advice like, "buy cheap groceries and buy cheaper gas. Ask your bank representative to lower your interest. Cancel your credit cards if you do not want to go into debt." THE BOOK AND CDs ARE COMPLETELY WORTHLESS AND ARE ONLY SENT TO YOU TO PROVE THAT YOU HAVE A PRODUCT IN YOUER HANDS, AND THEY WILL FORCE YOU TO PAY TO HAVE IT SENT BACK, and MAY CLAIM YOU NEVER DID, IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL. If you are in the process of recieving the package, DO NOT ACCEPT IT WHEN IT ARRIVES AND ASK THAT IT BE DESTROYED. GET THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE COMPANY DROPPING IT OFF AND CALL THAT COMPANY AND CONFIRM YOU DENAIL OF ACCEPTANCE OF THAT PACKAGE.

DO NOT FILL OUT THE FORMS. Filling them out will further bind you into this scam by giving these people the authorization to work with your financial accounts.

Any information this company recieves from you is sold, multiple times and in many ways, to anyone who wants to buy it, for any reason.

There is no Privacy Policy at this company (well, they are a scam, you know).

Everyone at this company does MASSIVE amounts of drugs. They are given only enough information to make them sound legitamate to the CUSTOMER, but any bank rep will know they are full of boloney. DO NOT LET THEM HANDLE YOUR ACCOUNTS BECAUSE THEY MAY DRIVE YOUR INTEREST RATES UP, not DOWN.

You will be told that working with them to lower your rates will not harm your credit - BUT I ASSURE YOU, IT WILL.

It will result in higher interest rates and loan denials.

If you want to do this yourself, there is plenty of free information out there on how to lower your rates yourself, and doing it yourself or with an CERTIFIED, REPUTABLE company will not harm your credit. But these guys are known all throughout Canada and the US as a scam, so banks will usually NOT talk to them.

If you have been suckered in, I'm so sorry..you may or may not ever get a call from their quote-unquote "Specialists".
Begin loggin every phone call back and forth from these people, and begin talking to your bank and ask your bank to GET YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE YOU NEVER AUTHORIZED THE CHARGE.

YOU NEVER AUTHORIZED THE CHARGE. If you are told that you were recorded saying that you did, THIS DOES NOT HOLD UP IN COURT. ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK IMMEDIATELY.

Log your phone calls and ask your phone company for a record of the calls, and present this record as proof that you called for a refund.

SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION
Washington, D.C.
Litigation Release No. 17220 / November 6, 2001
SEC v. TIMOTHY S. VASKO, EDWARD B. WILLIAMSON, AND MICHAEL J. SCHUCHARD, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, C.A. No. 00-M-2593 (December 29, 2000)

SEC SETTLES FRAUD ACTION AGAINST TIMOTHY S. VASKO, FORMER CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF VIP GLOBAL CAPITAL, INC.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that it has settled its civil injunctive action against Timothy S. Vasko, the former chairman and chief executive officer of VIP Global Capital, Inc. The Commission's Complaint alleged that Vasko made materially misleading disclosure in VIP's filings with the Commission, particularly with respect to VIP's credit arrangement with its major source of financing; that Vasko, along with Edward B. Williamson, a stock promoter who published an investment newsletter, engaged in a scheme to tout VIP and manipulate the market for VIP's securities; and that Michael J. Schuchard, a former senior vice president and member of VIP's board, who also worked as a registered representative of a broker-dealer, fraudulently sold securities of VIP to his brokerage customers. The SEC settled with Williamson and Schuchard at the time it instituted its civil action. See SEC Litigation Release No. 16855 (January 5, 2001).

Vasko, without admitting or denying the allegations of the Complaint, agreed to a settlement whereby he would be permanently enjoined from violating Sections 10(b) and 13(b)(5) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 ("Exchange Act"), and Rules 10b-5 and 13b2-1 thereunder, and from aiding and abetting violations of Section 13(a) of the Exchange Act and Rule 13a-1 thereunder. Vasko also paid a $40,000 civil penalty pursuant to Section 21(d)(3) of the Exchange Act. The U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado entered the order of Final Judgment against Vasko on April 17, 2001.

If you take a few minutes to search on the Net about this topic, you can quickly realize that the Credit Card scam related to gifts and/or low interest rate offers has been going on since at least, 2003. I've read enough on this subject to come to the conclusion that these call centers (wherever they are located in the world) operate without any fear of being caught. They cause hundred of thousand dollars losses daily to the credit card companies and guess what? The credit card companies pass their losses to the users who are…you and me. As of today, these pirate call centers are still operating in full force across North America. They have found the loophole for escaping from FBI and RCMP. The typical “model citizen” usually reports the fraud to the attorney or local police. I have news for you. You can file as many complains as you want to the authorities, they just can’t catch them! You can threaten of reporting their annoying calls to the phone companies, you can swear, being rude, vulgar with them – They are the ones controlling the game. They just hang up (laughing) until they receive a call from the next gullible person (and the wheel keeps turning). Whatever you do or say, you won’t be taken off their automated calling list. The heads of these scam acts like a computer virus. They are very much up to date with the changing law enforcement techniques and like a moving target, they disappear in the field. You can find numerous blogs and discussion forums related to this scam (this one is one of them). For every thread on the Net that exposes their illegal activities, they have members posting a message denying complains of people who got ripped off. They introduce contradicting information in blogs in order to confuse people who are unsure about the legitimacy of their offers. They have fake web sites, fake names, fake addresses, etc. Based on these facts, I think the only thing that can be done is to interfere with their practices. How can this be done? By “putting a stick in their wheel", hitting the weakest spot – their need to grab personal information from you. I’ve been practicing for quite a few times now and you’d be impressed by how patient they become when they feel that they have you as a fish on their hook. Again, the only power you have over them is to spend as much time as you can to waste THEIR time. This time you spend with them is time that they can’t use for screwing other people. I've learned a lot from reading in threads on the Net. Here is what I started doing: the principle is to play the game of being interested by their offer, providing fake information, pretending, acting, and creating delays. I hear you say that you don’t know how to reach them because whenever they call you because your call I.D. shows: 123-456-7890 (or any other spoofed phone i.d.). Didn’t I tell you they were smart? Here are a few numbers that still work as of today: 1 800-501-0100 (to reach the vacation trip scam) | 1 888-786-6201 or 1 800-943-3250 or 1 800-961-9830 (to reach the MCS credit card interest rate scam). If you need more numbers you can with a little effort “google” the name of the organization along with in the search field and it should pull more numbers to call to. Finally, here is my recipe for a great "obstruction" session upon these scammers: 1) take a hands free phone (portable is even better as you can still conduct you home activities) 2) get them to go through their entire sales pitch by encouraging and acknowledging every once in a while 3) make it last as long as your time permits (they are the one assuming the charges of the “1-800” communication). 4) When you feel that they suspect your “game” (or when you’re bored whichever comes first), find a nice and polite way to tell them that they've just wasted 15-20 minutes (sometimes more) of their precious time stealing other gullible people. I guarantee you that you will get some reaction at the other end of the line. Give them a ride and flood their phone lines! Make their life as miserable as they do to us. HEARING THEIR FRUSTRATION IS A GREAT REWARD AND PURE PLEASURE. Don’t be intimidated if they threaten you of anything, they are totally harmless.

I have received many of calls from 213-537-1095, 234-567-8900 and also from another number 000-000-0000 which also appears on my caller ID, it's all from the same company!
Tell him Mike said HI!

This is a very effective way to deal with this company because my dad is not receiving anymore calls!

Good Luck and have fun!!!

So, you got a call from the # 1-235-567-8900.
Well these people claim they can help you reduce your credit card rate.
The problem I had with this is I've never had a credit card in my life.
I learnt there are a number of other toll free numbers you can call to have this stoped. Mutual Consolidated Services is a scam probably working for
Collection Agencies and Telemarketers. The numbers to have them stop calling you are as follows: 1-877-891-1348, 1-800-943-3250, 1-888-878-1014.
But be very careful if you call one of these numbers.
I DIALED *67 (TO HIDE MY #) BUT THAT DID NOT WORK.
I FOUND OUT THEY HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO "OVERRIDE" THIS.
AFTER I USED *67 THEN DIALED THERE #, THE WOMAN (IN A RUDE MANNER)
TOLD ME THE NUMBER I WAS CALLING FROM (MY #).
THEY AND MANY OTHER CO's CAN OVERRIDE *67, SO BE CAREFUL NOW!!!
JUST USE A PAYPHONE WHICH COSTS NOTHING FOR TOLLFREE NUMBERS!
Drive them crazy, just like what they do to us.......

I USED TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. YOU NEED TO CALL 1-800-943-3250 AND ASK FOR PAUL, MANDY, OR JESSICA BUZZARD. THIS COMPANY USES OUTSIDE CALL CENTERS TO CONTACT YOU, FROM FLORIDA TO PAKISTAN. THEY DO NOT REGULATE WHAT THESE CALL CENTERS SAY TO PEOPLE, BECAUSE THE OWNER, PAUL, BELIEVES THAT THESE CALL CENTERS ARE WHAT BRINGS HIM BUSINESS, AND THAT THEY SHOULD DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES. ONCE YOU FALL FOR THE CALL CENTERS LIE, THEN YOU WILL SPEAK TO THE "WELCOME DEPARTMENT" WHO THEN TELLS YOU A LITTLE BIT OF THE TRUTH, BUT LEAVE OUT OR RE-WORD THINGS IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CLIENT HAPPY. AND THEN IF YOU TRY TO EVEN CANCEL, THEY MAKE IT ALMOST NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO DO. *NOTE* - FILE A CHARGEBACK WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY OR BANK BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING AND YOU CAN GET YOUR MONEY BACK.
NO ONE THERE HAS MUCH EXPERIENCE IN THE FINANCIAL FIELD. SOME HAVE EVEN BEEN SEEN DRIVING OFF AT LUNCH TIME TO GO AND SMOKE MARIJUANA OR SOME FORM OF RECREATIONAL DRUGS. IF YOU LOOK AT THE WEBSITE, NOT A SINGLE PERSON LOOKS OR DRESSES LIKE THAT AT THE COMPANY. AND IF YOU ARE AN EMPLOYEE AT MUTUAL CONSOLIDATED SAVINGS, AND YOU STAND UP AND SAY THAT YOU FEEL SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT, MANAGEMENT WILL MAKE THINGS TOUGH FOR YOU THERE UNTIL YOU QUIT OR DO SOMETHING TO GET FIRED. AND THERE HAS BEEN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY AMONGST STAFF. NEXT TIME YOU CALL, ASK AN EMPLOYEE WHY DID A GIRL BY THE NAME OF WENDY GET STABBED BY ANOTHER EMPLOYEE.

I'm writing from Toronto, Canada. Yesterday my husband got a call from "Logan Kelly" ext 500 at this number. He was offered a "deal" to refinance our mortgage (which has not yet fully been financed, even!) and reduce the interest rate to prime minus one on the repayments. This service would apparently cost $850 (unclear whether USD or Canadian - he did not know they were calling from the US). He was also asked to give up both credit card and bank account numbers. Luckily, he refused.

There is a 1-800 # for people to call:1-800-943-3250... Pacific times call at any day time hours and they will inquire... There is no fraud, We CHARGE MONEY, around $900 dollars, this service is NOT FREE, a person can NOT call your bank and deal with interest rates without your credit card number. Obviously you people are not getting it. Yes we take your money, everyone does, and if we were a fraud we would have been investigated and shut down. There is no Illegal matter here. When people have an Interest rate above 20%, MCS will most likely drop it, so that the person is paying less back to the bank... which then saves them money, often 10s of thousands by the time they die, because yes, the one time fee of our membership does last a lifetime. There you have your info, there is nothing els, what scares people is that we charge upfront,
and people don't see the savings for one until a week or two depending on when they make a payment- Kristopher Dail... Chief_kris@yahoo.com Thank you-

YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO FREAK OUT, PLEASE READ:

Same story as all of you, company calls with a recording, asks for all your info, etc etc... except I didn't lose any money or anything. I called my credit card company in a panic after reading this forum but they said (MBNA cc) that Mutual Consumer Savings is a legitimate company based out of the States. Yes, they ask for a one-time fee. This makes sense otherwise they wouldn't make any money from lowering our interest rates.

Nothing has been charged to either of my cards. They retrieve your information from the Credit Bureau, which is what the guy from MCS told me on the phone as well.

Possibly a scam company is piggybacking on a legitimate one, I don't know. Maybe someone else can elaborate? They guy I spoke to had a thick Texan accent and said he was in Dallas when I asked, he also sounded like a typical awkward but friendly minimum wage telemarketer (sorry for sounding elitist, but you all know what I'm talking about). Not a Pakistani one or whatever, and not in a room of other people you can hear... their website did not time out like some people say happens and is a scam... etc etc. I'm thinking a scam company is mimicking a real one?

Also, call all your card companies--many of them have zero liability where even if someone steals your card or wrongly charges you, you are not liable. If you don't have zero liability, GET IT! It's good for more than just avoiding scam companies.

Cheers
Eurassia

@TODD

I am posting here as I have no other quicker way (it seems) of addressing this matter. The information you have posted above related to Reva is totally incorrect. If you had done the proper research you would have seen (as posted above on this very same forum) that the alleged calls are related to MCS Program(S) and not MScPrograms.

MScPrograms (as in Masters of Science Programs)is a domain that our company owns legitimately. We are based in Georgia and have never conducted any business in the card services industry, neither have we ever made any unsolicited call to you or anyone pertaining to card services or any other matter.

It's very interesting that you had the time to conduct research but no time to clarify your incorrect findings with the principals of the company using the contact details you posted.

We ask, as as a matter of urgency, that you have your absurd and irresponsible post removed or edited to reflect proper research or we will be forced to seek legal advice on the matter.

They called with my 'follow-up' call today. I had already cancelled my credit card!!!(they didnt get a dime) I told the young lady on the phone that I found them on 'Scammers' today. Of course she said "that was the banks doing that because they dont like us they're loosing interest." They called me back 5 times from 5 different numbers...1) 866-664-6131, 2) 517-931-3213, 3) 253-572-1671, 4) 253-527-9611, 5) 253-572-9628. UNBELEIVABLE!!!

THIS IS A SCAM !

A "Pam West" from MCS...(blurred speech) called my 80 year old father-in-law in Niagara Falls & told him they could reduce his credit card interest rate to 5% but he had to tell them the number on the back of his credit card. He called me first ,fortunately.
What kind of a sicko would target an 80 year old with no legs who is confined to a wheel chair ? Watch out for the old people in your family & have them call you first.
He said " Pam West" had a very nice voice & convincing way.

I think these a..holes need to be a separate group on America's Most wanted. If that fails , get a picture of them & put it on the net!

After these people failed to leave msgs on my answering machine, I decided to answer today. I pressed "0" to speak with the representative hoping to have my number removed from their list, but decided to play along. The man on the phone says his name was "Trevor" *funny, I have a son named Trevor* and proceeds to ask questions about my c.c. debt. He asks for my name, I gave him a phony one of course, then he asks for my total amount of card debt. I gave him a phony number. Says interest rate has to be over 10%, I agree that it is...He then asks me for the card number to check the authenticity of the account. I tell him I no longer have it. He's perplexed. So I ask if I can call him back. He gives me 800-943-3250, but he doesn't stop there...he also gives me 407-298-9779 ext.108. Although, the number on the caller ID says Gerjenski Inc. 517-933-2087. All of these numbers lead to different places. The 407 area code is to Florida. The 517 area code is to Michigan and the 800 number is on the West coast. I spoke to the answering service at the 800 number because their offices were closed. I was informed there are other "satellite" companies that were open. I think this company is using a legit company as its springboard. If they can get your card # then more than likely they will run it up even more. Have any of you downloaded any new files on your pc? I think my computer may have been hacked into and these people are sophisticated hackers. peace.

Said his name was Micheal Cole, except he had a very strong indian accent and it sounded like there were 50 people in the background making the same calls. Started out as a recorded message and press 1 to lower your interest rate. They are trying to steal somehow. Also didnt know my name or what credit cards I have. Silly me gave out some personal information - i hope it doesn't come back to haunt me. Didnt give my name or date of birth. I will report to the credit card company and police.

TOTAL SCAM! I live in Canada. A guy with a strong accent called me from a number that came up as private, said he was from Mutual Consumer Savings and could lower my interest rate to prime or prime + 1% for the rest of my life. He asked me what was the balance on my credit card, I lied on the amount and was wondering why he did not know. He wanted by birth date and when I was unwilling he gave me the 18009433250 number, ext786,

Total Scam. When asked at the start of the call, the operator told me she worked for my c.c. company (bank). Lie #1
Promise you lower interest rates, debt relief (I don't have any debt - my bank would know that) all for no charge, "we do not require you to send us any money, cheques, or money orders" - True, HOWEVER, at the call "wrap-up" the operator (now transferred to someone new, with the exact same phone # - inc. extension - 1-800-943-3250 x 700)tries to sneak in (while recording the dialoge) "I'll just go ahead and charge to your "primary" card $500.00" U.S. I declined this, and asked for the paperwork to be mailed to me so I can better understand what I am being signed up for. The phone call ended 15 seconds later. Both "employees'" claim to be in Austin, Texas, but the call originated from Fla. - Contacts were "Cathy White", and "Mike Allan". 1-800-493-1304 is the company #, only allows you to leave a message for callback, www.mcsprograms.com is the web site. The fact that they ask for all of your info (d.o.b., c.c. #, etc.,which they obviously don't know, because I gave them an incorrect c.c #, yet the call went on) is reason enough to hang up.

"Larry Rice" from MCS Consolidated Financial, offering to lower my credit card interest rate if I gave him my balance and current rate etc. When I told him that I was not interested, his reply was rude ("What, your not interested in saving money ?"). The number is different, but the call back number given by someone here matches up 1-800-943-3250. A machine answered as MCS, I didn't check around to find out how to get a real person and tell them, AGAIN, to take me off their call list (I always press "1" just to take up their time, bark at them, and tell them to take me off the list).
