This number came up on our credit card with a $29 charge. We thought it was a scam, but when we called Tmobile they confirmed that we made a payment that day with that credit card and that 800 number, while it didn't call us and they couldn't explain why it was there written like that, it was indeed referring to that payment we made. It said "T-mobile postpaid TEL8009378997WA" and then the amount.

Well, it really is the number for T-Mobile Customer Service but that doesn't mean they necessarily use that number to call you. It's certainly possible that someone else is spoofing the number to appear legitimate.

Weird I haven’t called T-Mobile to warrant a call back, and it’s almost 10pm? I’m thinking this has to be a scam.

This number is from T Mobile. I had an issue they were trying to resolve. Once they determined the issue, they called me back. I didn’t answer the first time since I was suspicious, but when the call came in 10 mins later, I answered. All’s good with this phone number.

This is really a T-Mobile customer service call. I've made and received multiple calls with this number to deal with an issue with T-Mobile. This is not a scam number. They do outsource some of their customer service calls to other countries, so that may be why people are getting calls from people with heavy accents.

Yes, it's a scam. Do not answer. Any 800 number that calls at 11:14 pm is not on the up and up. Keep researching – you'll find articles about it.

The message left on Google VM said the call was from Tina at T-Mobile about my account. I don't have T-Mobile. The caller (or likely an auto-dialer) actually called both of my mobile numbers at the same time, both being VZW accounts. DO NOT RESPOND OR GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THIS CALLER. IT IS MOST LIKELY A SCAM/PHISHING FOR PERSONAL INFORAMTION.

Got two calls from this number February 9th and 16th on my cell phone number. Both times ignored it to voicemail and they left no message. Usually this is the signature of telestalkers, don't know who though.

This call came in at 12:34 Am. DID YOU SEE THAT? 34 minutes AFTER MIDNIGHT when everyone was in bed sleeping.

Not only should the caller ID be showing the true name of the caller but calling after midnight, really!

What kind of scum sucking pigs are these people?

For what its worth to you all... I found this page after doing a search on" CHECK CRD PURCHASE 12/23 T-MOBILE IVR PAYMENT 800-937-8997", which showed up on my bank statement. I was not called by this number, but MY BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT WAS COMPROMISED AND FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED BY THE ABOVE NAME, to well over $2k. On the same day, I had a personal credit card compromised for $1k, which had to be cancelled. So yes... beware of that phone number.... Bad juju and my banks say they are going after it.

This was a T-Mobile customer service number. When I called in for technical assistance, the recording said the wait would be up to 10 minutes. It gave me the option to leave a call back number so I wouldn't have to wait on the phone. They returned my call shortly from this number. Don't know why businesses have unavailable as their caller ID but Verizon is the same way.

I think this is a SCAM!!!! They have been calling me telling me that my bill is past due. The first time I got this call, an automated message told me I was $289.00 past due. I knew that was wrong. So I hung up and pulled all my bills for the year and verified that I didn't miss any payments. I was right, I didn't. So I called T-Mobile's customer service number (which is...1-800-937-8997) and they said my account was current and could not understand why anyone would call me and tell me that, especially when my account has never been over due for that amount.
I think the people calling from the 1-877-819-6042 number are phishing for information over the phone. The are finding people who are customers or former customers (they are probably not able to determine their current customer status), and they are calling people at random, knowing that it is very common for people to be late/overdue on there bills. They are getting information from some of those customers who believe it is T-Mobile. NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU(SS#, credit card #, banking info, password, ANYTHING PERSONAL!!!) even for donations. Call them back - take the time to look up the number for customer service yourself (ex. look on your bill). This may be a T-Mobile number but maybe these people have some sort of way of making this number come up on the caller ID as a number belonging to T-Mobile and the say they are T-Mobile but that does not mean they really are.
