This is Verizon’s number however some scammers hack into the system and mask themselves with this number claiming they are indeed Verizon. It’s a scam that preys on the elderly. They stole $6,000 from my grandparents.
New Hampshire May 03rd, 2019
I have received scam calls from both this number as well as from Verizon’s other main number, 800-922-0204
. Be aware, scammers can spoof these numbers to lead you to believe that you are actually receiving calls from a legitimate Verizon rep. I’ve reported to Verizon. If you receive a call from someone who claims to be from Verizon, offering you a rebate and requesting that you provide your personal information, hang up immediately; this is a scam.

They called my cell phone but did not leave a message. The number is very close to Verizon's 800-922-0204
Customer Support number.
Have read enough to know not to answer calls from this number
if you don't recognize the number, don't answer it
LOOK! Bottom Line:
If it's an INCOMING call--does NOT matter from WHOM it appears to be coming (Verizon, Chase, AT&T, Donald Trump, IRS, The US Government)--DO NOT EVER GIVE INFO TO INCOMING callers. I'm 69 and have had a 40 year career in Enterprise IT. I know better but the scammers are getting BETTER. I'm really tired of hearing hand wringing stories of how "Vulnerable Seniors" are being Scammed everyday.
SMARTEN UP PEOPLE! If you're actually in a state of advanced alzheimer's try to get a court order in place, before you go under, to legally have yourself declared as Legally Non Compos Mentis. That way you'll save yourself and your loved ones a lot of potential hassles.
If you believe you're to young to be 'Non Compos Mentis' ---give that a rethink too. You're never too young! If you're on Heroin or MethAmphetamine--all bets are off re: Your Age.
These scammers could not prosper if the Population at large was more aware and simple exercised Common Sense!

I received 2 voicemails supposedly from Verizon saying my account is suspended but press 1 to reactivate. Funny thing is: I don't have Verizon!
My husband and I received calls at the same time from the same number stating that our numbers were suspended.
This is a scam. Do not respond to the called. I received a call from this number today, March 18, 2019 on my cell phone. The message said that my phone has been suspended. I knew this is a scam because my phone is working fine. The message instructed me to respond to speak to an agent. Of course I didn't. Phone company would never leave a message like this.
Just received this spoofing call.
Didn’t answer. They left no message.

Got a call from this number saying my phone was suspended. Pushed 2 to talk to someone who immediately asked for my account PIN to check my account. I told them they couldn't have it because I don't hand out information to people who call me. He said to call the customer service line or visit a store to get the issue resolved, and that he just needed my info to resolve my suspension for fraudulent activity. There's no issue. My line is not suspended. FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY! That's hilarious! THEY are the frauds! If you Google the number it comes up with several articles about how people calling from this number are scamming Verizon customers. If anyone calls you from this number and wants any of your information, hang up and call customer service to verify. The scammers are able to push their call through so it looks like it's coming from a legitimate Verizon customer support line. NEVER give your info to inbound callers.

I wasn't near my phone when they called, so they left a message. Stated that my Verizon account had been suspended and push 1 for...(they hung up). I got online with a Live Verizon rep to verify. Bill paid. No issues. They told me there was no recent time stamps on their end to indicate anyone had accessed my account so it was not a valid call.
Received a call indicating my account had been suspended. I initially hung up, did some checking and checked account. Bill was paid and up to date. Called number back and asked for a representative on an automated line. Since I didn't want to enter my account number they sent me a very believable confirmation text with a code. I entered the code they texted me and then I was holding on forever. Eventually I just hung up.
Received phone call stating my Verizon account was locked....they don't notify you with a phone call.

Got a call from a 'Verizon specialist' who said that 2 iphones had been ordered and asked to have them sent to another address up in NY state and to have our address changed to one in that state. He said it looked suspicious since we did not let them know that we'd moved, and so he asked us to wait 'til he verified our address and other personal information. He didn't have an accent, but when I heard a dog barking in the background(are dogs allowed in the office?!) I looked the number up on my computer and found it was a scam, so I just hung up. He never called back.
Just got a scam call from this number saying my Verizon account had been suspended? WTF ... yeah and I was born yesterday ya' stupid $#!t, checked online and my account is fine. BE CAREFUL this is an automated phishing call, they ask for your personal information, such as SSN etc, don't be fooled!

Verizon scam offering me a $99.00 credit on my account for being such a great customer. Asks for PIN # to my Verizon account. Told the lady with strong Indian accent that I was well aware that it was a fraudulent call and I would never give that information out. She tried to give me her Verizon Employee ID and I told her I would just give a quick call to my local Verizon rep, who is a personal friend, to verify and she hung up...go figure. I get this one a lot but from different numbers. They have a script with different answers for everything you say.
Received call twice in last month from this number matching Verizon Tech support already in my contacts. I never answered call but did a reverse phone number look up and found phone number matching a private party located in Murfreesboro, TN. Google mapped the address and it was at a home in a sub-division. Never give any of your information out. SCAM

08/28/2018 Just got a call from this number. The # is in my contacts as Verizon customer service so I answered. The man said someone had ordered and iPhone X from my account and asked if this was me. When I said no, he asked if I recognized some phone numbers the order came from. After some confusing conversation I said this sounded fishy and he hung up. I immediately dialed #611 and talked to the real Verizon. Today they've had numerous calls from customers getting this scam call.

I got a call asked to be removed from list and he said no and hung up. Indian fraudster
It's not Verizon, beware. The Indian guy asked to connect to my computer so he can install some updates, I'm not stupid. The real Verzion numbers are 800.225.5499 and 800.922.0204
Caller said he was helping to prevent a fraudster on my Verizon Wireless account and to read him back a 8 digit number he txted me...Phisher smelled too Fishy for me.
I received a call from this number. He said I was overcharged by $25 on my last bill. He asked for my pin. When I told him I didn't feel comfortable giving information to an incoming caller he began trying to convince me he was legit by telling me my name and SSN. also a Verizon number but Google states its a ping number. We are not making or receiving any of these calls. Recently our Verizon cells were hacked by these numbers. Crashed our phone 3 months in a row. FRUSTRATED, AGGRAVATED!!! Maps on our wifi from California in a Roberto, James and Veronica Garcia, aka: Jones, Long, Rodrigues. 800-922-0204 "Sam", from "Verizon Wireless", calling to tell me he's sorry for my calls being dropped and to call him back at 800-922-0204. He actually left that message on my voice mail. I already know calls for phone issues NEVER work that way. Stupid isn't located at the answering end of my phone number, but apparently IS located at the caller's end.

Verizon offering a $50 credit to my next months bill.
Recorded call at 2:00PM Sunday stating "You have been awarded a $48 credit to your account. Just log onto verizon48.com to redeem...etc, etc". Obviously a scam. I hate these people with a passion. Will turn them in to donotcall.gov, as if it'll do any good.
Got a call to my cell phone at 10pm, computer-generated voicemail message was garbled, something about go to "www.46verizon.com Simply log in your account to redeem your forty-six dollars. At Verizon we care about you. Thank you and have a nice day."
Scam. If it was a real call, it would show up as a Verizon phone number when I googled for it.

This is not Verizon Wireless. This is a scam. This is most likely someone who works / use to work at Verizon Wireless.
If you call the number back you will notice that the on hold music is an old ad.
If you wait long enough, someone from “Assumed Verizon Wireless” will answer.

I received a call from this number the caller Id said technical support. I was not expecting any technical support from anyone so I did not answer. I have not done business with verizon for more than 2 years. They have no business to call me.
Robo call so garbled I couldn't make out what the robot was trying to tell me.
I picked up this call and Robocaller leaves a garbled male vouce message to log onto iamverizon.com for a $65 credit on my phone bill. Robocaller then said "Verizon cares about you". Needless to say, this is a scam, I didn't log on, and have blocked the number, so my information should be safe. If it's too good to be true.....
This number is texting me about renewing Verizon services I never subscribed to and state I need to call another fraudulent number to cancel the service. The number they ask me to call is 1 800-922-0204
. I looked up this number at it was used by Verizon but is no longer. People report if you call the 800 number they will ask for personal bank information and charges will begin appearing.
Robocaller leaves garbled male voice message to connect to www.my45verizon.com to claim $45 credit on next month's Verizon bill. All of our Verizon Family Plan phones got this "offer" last month and again today (11/30/2013). Phone number is spoofed from Verizon Wireless Customer Service but website only has one purpose; it's certainly a PHISHING scam to steal Verizon account info.

I tried to return the call today from a land line and received a message saying that the phone was not in service. I think that if this were a Verizon caller, they would have left a voice message.
Left a message saying to go to www.mysixtydollarbonus.com to get $60 taken off my unspecified phone bill.

By your logic, Simons, if you hide from a gunman behind a small bush you should not feel any bullets. Like all such measures, the federal DNC registry has limitations and exemptions. You were supposed to read all about them when you signed on. Here they are again:
Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
Resident47 Sep 23rd, 2012
This caller seems to be a telemarketer; however, my cell phone is listed on the national do not call registry and I should not be getting calls from telemarketers to my cell phone.
I received a call from this number two days ago from a woman claiming to be from Verizon. She asked if I wouldn't mind taking a short survey in order to receive up to $40 off my next bill. I was in the middle of something and feeling impatient and explained to her that I am not the one authorized to make changes or decisions about our account but told her my mom could. I didn't think anything of it at the time because the call didn't strike me as suspicious. My phone hasn't been working for about 20 hours now and I was notified through email by my mom that someone out of Cuba hacked our family's account and they would remain locked until they could control the situation. Lucky for us, Verizon removed all the charges that were made by the scammer, but my phone is still out of commission. BEWARE of this caller!!!!!!!!
Yaeh, I just got a weeeird call from that number, it sounded like a automated recording, but I remember thinking Verizon had hired a real creeper to do their messages, but anyways, it says something about me being credited $100 dollars, and told me I could find out more by going to what sounded suspiciously like "www.ilovecock.com", and then instantly disconnected. I suppose I might have misheard the name of the website because the connection dropped right after he finished saying it, but I have the feeling it was a very bizarre crank call.
This is most definitely a SPAMMER. I just changed my # early this morning around 6am. At 11:05am, I received a call from this number. I called back, and it was an automated system asking for my telephone number. HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS!!! They called again at 5:26pm, I could not answer but saw the voicemail half an hour later. No message was left, just dead air. I called Verizon Wireless at 800-922-0204
, and asked if there were any alerts on my account, as my account was paid in full and paid early 2 weeks ago. There were NONE. The rep also verified that this number WAS NOT A VERIZON WIRELESS PHONE NUMBER, and to block this number from calling me. A report has been made via Verizon Wireless, and I will also be reporting it to the FCC.
Funny how prior to changing my number I had never received a call from this number, this supposed "Verizon" asking me to pay my bill.
This is a legitimate phone number for Verizon Wireless "Customer Service Representative"; however, others like collectors, hackers, and other criminals can use this number and disguise themselves. In other words, even though the number is a legitimate Verizon number, it does NOT mean that the call is always generated by Verizon. So, beware and do NOT give your personal information IF YOU HAPPEN TO RECEIVE A CALL FROM THAT NUMBER AND IF YOU HAPPEN TO ANSWER THE CALL. I called Verizon today, since I got a call from that number. Verizon records do NOT show that they generated a call to me!!
Disturbing thought, Watch Dog. Wouldn't be the first time a collector spoofed numbers or posed as an original creditor in an effort to dodge industry regulation. Learn how to exercise your rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot gov.
Resident47 Dec 10th, 2010
This is a Bill Collector; they have found a clever way to disguise themselves. If they know your phone service is T-Mobile or Verizon for example, they use an ID faker to disguise their phone# and get you to answer the call and harass you. If your phone service provider needs to speak with you, they will leave a message or text you. You can also check you account on line.
If you talk to this bill collector, ask him/her to call the White House and ask for President Obama; may be he can bail them out.
I do not recall receiving a call from this # but it did appear on two fraudulent charges to my credit card, in the exact amounts of $300 and $400 on the same day. I am not a Verizon customer. The fraud department of my credit card company credited the charges and issued a new card.
Received a call from that number today. I agree with the earlier post below that it's connected to the suspicious text message I received about my minutes about to go over. When I got that txt, I didn't click through the link, but went to a separate computer to check my account online and they were nowhere near over! Something shady is going on. Been checking reports throughout various sites and it seems that once you give your name/pw, someone will change your password and charge a phone to your account. Be careful of anyone asking for password info!
Got one too Nov 04th, 2010
call came in, and I didn't answer. No message left. I recently got a text message telling me my minutes are over the limit, but when I checked online, I was no where near over. I think the call was connected to the text message. Very shady.
As this looks like an inside job, i.e. an employee stealing credit card information, folk will switch carriers, Verizon should take note.
Personally I don't answer toll free numbers, because if they're genuine they'll leave a message.
Best advice is to add them to your address book, say with the letter 'S' for scammer, and set the ringer to silent. Voila!
I have around a hundred of these numbers in my address book, and they no longer waste my time, or leave me vulnerable to a scam.
I get a call from Verizon Collection Service each month telling me that my Verizon Wireless payment is past due. Problem is I do not have a Verizon Wireless account. So I called customer service @ 800-922-0204
and told them of my problem and they politely removed my number as the customer's home contact number. Hope this helps someone - good luck.
