It seems they keep changing the Caller ID. From this report they are up to no good. But when this number is called back it is indeed a legit Verizon Wireless number. How is it they are allowed to change the from number?

Verizon offering a $50 credit to my next months bill.
Recorded call at 2:00PM Sunday stating "You have been awarded a $48 credit to your account. Just log onto verizon48.com to redeem...etc, etc". Obviously a scam. I hate these people with a passion. Will turn them in to donotcall.gov, as if it'll do any good.
Got a call to my cell phone at 10pm, computer-generated voicemail message was garbled, something about go to "www.46verizon.com Simply log in your account to redeem your forty-six dollars. At Verizon we care about you. Thank you and have a nice day."
Scam. If it was a real call, it would show up as a Verizon phone number when I googled for it.
Voicemail recorded last part of a sentence "log onto your account at ... " something like att21.com to collect your $21. Logged into the real ATT and then realized the call from this number was phishy.
Verizon phishing scam for verizon51.com
said I had a past due amount of 84.30 and go to the nearest store and pay...but could not give me any information on the account
Two calls of unwanted advertising to my cell phone.
Received a voicemail twice this morning. The woman with an accent claims to be from Verizon with info about a $54 credit on my account. Scam. I hope they stop calling me!
7:30am Saturday. scratchy recording telling me to go to verizon54.com to claim my $54 account award.
Called us at 12:30 a.m.! Woke us up but we did not pick up.
The call came on my cell ph and just noise
Voicemail was cutoff but something about $44 credit if we log into a bogus Verizon website.
This is not Verizon Wireless. This is a scam. This is most likely someone who works / use to work at Verizon Wireless.
If you call the number back you will notice that the on hold music is an old ad.
If you wait long enough, someone from “Assumed Verizon Wireless” will answer.
If you ask for their name, they will say the name of person on the Verizon Wireless account.
Do not pay these people.
If you do, your Verizon Wireless bill wont get paid.
If you do get a call from 971-244-8247. you need to call Verizon Wireless and let them know about the issue.
By calling / contacting Verizon Wireless, this will make Verizon Wireless know about these people.
Below are the only numbers/ways you should call to contact Verizon Wireless.

Female voice message to connect to my45verizon.com to claim $45 credit on next month's Verizon bill. We do not have Verizon, we cancelled our Verizon service more than 6 months ago.
Recorded garbled call: "You have won a million dollars. . ." I hung up so didn't hear all of it.
Calls from a legit Verizon # but it's a phishing scam.

I received a call from this number the caller Id said technical support. I was not expecting any technical support from anyone so I did not answer. I have not done business with verizon for more than 2 years. They have no business to call me.

I picked up this call and Robocaller leaves a garbled male vouce message to log onto iamverizon.com for a $65 credit on my phone bill. Robocaller then said "Verizon cares about you". Needless to say, this is a scam, I didn't log on, and have blocked the number, so my information should be safe. If it's too good to be true.....

This number is texting me about renewing Verizon services I never subscribed to and state I need to call another fraudulent number to cancel the service. The number they ask me to call is 1 800-922-0204
. I looked up this number at it was used by Verizon but is no longer. People report if you call the 800 number they will ask for personal bank information and charges will begin appearing.
Robocaller leaves garbled male voice message to connect to www.my45verizon.com to claim $45 credit on next month's Verizon bill. All of our Verizon Family Plan phones got this "offer" last month and again today (11/30/2013). Phone number is spoofed from Verizon Wireless Customer Service but website only has one purpose; it's certainly a PHISHING scam to steal Verizon account info.
someone is spoofing the verizon wireless toll free number for fraudulent purposes.
This keeps popping up on my smartphone as an alert. It tells me to call this number and error code 1001.and you can not close it out you have to hit home for it to go away, just to pop up again in a few minutes.

I tried to return the call today from a land line and received a message saying that the phone was not in service. I think that if this were a Verizon caller, they would have left a voice message.
Left a message saying to go to www.mysixtydollarbonus.com to get $60 taken off my unspecified phone bill.
This is the number VZW CS dials back from 800.922.0204 to continue support without wasting phone battery (sitting on hold)

By your logic, Simons, if you hide from a gunman behind a small bush you should not feel any bullets. Like all such measures, the federal DNC registry has limitations and exemptions. You were supposed to read all about them when you signed on. Here they are again:
Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
Rhode Island Sep 23rd, 2012
This caller seems to be a telemarketer; however, my cell phone is listed on the national do not call registry and I should not be getting calls from telemarketers to my cell phone.
I received a call from this number two days ago from a woman claiming to be from Verizon. She asked if I wouldn't mind taking a short survey in order to receive up to $40 off my next bill. I was in the middle of something and feeling impatient and explained to her that I am not the one authorized to make changes or decisions about our account but told her my mom could. I didn't think anything of it at the time because the call didn't strike me as suspicious. My phone hasn't been working for about 20 hours now and I was notified through email by my mom that someone out of Cuba hacked our family's account and they would remain locked until they could control the situation. Lucky for us, Verizon removed all the charges that were made by the scammer, but my phone is still out of commission. BEWARE of this caller!!!!!!!!
Yaeh, I just got a weeeird call from that number, it sounded like a automated recording, but I remember thinking Verizon had hired a real creeper to do their messages, but anyways, it says something about me being credited $100 dollars, and told me I could find out more by going to what sounded suspiciously like "www.ilovecock.com", and then instantly disconnected. I suppose I might have misheard the name of the website because the connection dropped right after he finished saying it, but I have the feeling it was a very bizarre crank call.

This is most definitely a SPAMMER. I just changed my # early this morning around 6am. At 11:05am, I received a call from this number. I called back, and it was an automated system asking for my telephone number. HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS!!! They called again at 5:26pm, I could not answer but saw the voicemail half an hour later. No message was left, just dead air. I called Verizon Wireless at 800-922-0204
, and asked if there were any alerts on my account, as my account was paid in full and paid early 2 weeks ago. There were NONE. The rep also verified that this number WAS NOT A VERIZON WIRELESS PHONE NUMBER, and to block this number from calling me. A report has been made via Verizon Wireless, and I will also be reporting it to the FCC.
Funny how prior to changing my number I had never received a call from this number, this supposed "Verizon" asking me to pay my bill.
This is a legitimate phone number for Verizon Wireless "Customer Service Representative"; however, others like collectors, hackers, and other criminals can use this number and disguise themselves. In other words, even though the number is a legitimate Verizon number, it does NOT mean that the call is always generated by Verizon. So, beware and do NOT give your personal information IF YOU HAPPEN TO RECEIVE A CALL FROM THAT NUMBER AND IF YOU HAPPEN TO ANSWER THE CALL. I called Verizon today, since I got a call from that number. Verizon records do NOT show that they generated a call to me!!
Disturbing thought, Watch Dog. Wouldn't be the first time a collector spoofed numbers or posed as an original creditor in an effort to dodge industry regulation. Learn how to exercise your rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot gov.
Rhode Island Dec 10th, 2010
This is a Bill Collector; they have found a clever way to disguise themselves. If they know your phone service is T-Mobile or Verizon for example, they use an ID faker to disguise their phone# and get you to answer the call and harass you. If your phone service provider needs to speak with you, they will leave a message or text you. You can also check you account on line.
If you talk to this bill collector, ask him/her to call the White House and ask for President Obama; may be he can bail them out.
I do not recall receiving a call from this # but it did appear on two fraudulent charges to my credit card, in the exact amounts of $300 and $400 on the same day. I am not a Verizon customer. The fraud department of my credit card company credited the charges and issued a new card.
Received a call from that number today. I agree with the earlier post below that it's connected to the suspicious text message I received about my minutes about to go over. When I got that txt, I didn't click through the link, but went to a separate computer to check my account online and they were nowhere near over! Something shady is going on. Been checking reports throughout various sites and it seems that once you give your name/pw, someone will change your password and charge a phone to your account. Be careful of anyone asking for password info!
California Nov 04th, 2010
call came in, and I didn't answer. No message left. I recently got a text message telling me my minutes are over the limit, but when I checked online, I was no where near over. I think the call was connected to the text message. Very shady.

As this looks like an inside job, i.e. an employee stealing credit card information, folk will switch carriers, Verizon should take note.
Personally I don't answer toll free numbers, because if they're genuine they'll leave a message.
Best advice is to add them to your address book, say with the letter 'S' for scammer, and set the ringer to silent. Voila!
I have around a hundred of these numbers in my address book, and they no longer waste my time, or leave me vulnerable to a scam.
I get a call from Verizon Collection Service each month telling me that my Verizon Wireless payment is past due. Problem is I do not have a Verizon Wireless account. So I called customer service @ 800-922-0204
and told them of my problem and they politely removed my number as the customer's home contact number. Hope this helps someone - good luck.
I received a call from this number with someone spitting in the phone. I have been receiving the same type of messages masked as friends in my phone book. This is the first time the 800 number came up. Looks like someone forgot to mask it this time. I've questioned Verizon about this. They have no idea what is going on and told me what is happening is impossible... yet, I am still receiving these calls.

I work for Verizon Wireless, This is our customer service centralized system number. If someone else is on your plan and they need to get the account verified and you do not answer the call, they do NOT always leave a message. Some agents refuse to, because that could lead to a potential of millions of calls a day because our network is over 80 million plus.
Appeared on my credit card statement after I paid my bill by credit card
Identity theft alert; fraudulent claims against credit card account are being credited by credit card issuer, and criminal prosecution is imminent.
Fraudulent representation as a verizon customer service representative.
I AM ALSO GETTING MANY CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ON MY CELLPHONE...VERY FREQUENTLY..NO ONE ON THE OTHER END AND I HAVE AN
ATT PHONE. I CALLED VERIZON, 800-922-0204
, TODAY AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWS THAT'S IT'S REGISTERED TO VERIZON. PLEASE CALL VERIZON FREQUENTLY ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. IF THEY CONTINUE TO GET LOTS OF CALLS FROM US, MAYBE THEY WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. ALSO, I INTEND TO NOTIFY WWW.FCC.GOV AND WWW.VERIZONWIRELESS.COM.
This # is a scam and I work for Verizon and their billing # is 1-800-922-0204
. This # just started calling me recently for what I will never know because even though I work for VZ I have never had a VZ cell phone. So there is no need for billing to be calling me and my co worker works in the billing dept which is not in TN. Also I don't answer calls I don't know, I just *67 and dail the # back to see who it isand it said VZ financial which is BS! This # does not exist in our directory and call the 800 # above and they will tell you the same!
I contacted the Verizon number 800-922-0204
. Got nowhere, of course, but she did suggest that we go on the Verizon web page and use the Contact Us link and submit it to Resolutions. That a group of those complaints all in one place might get them investigating it. The following is the email I sent using Verizon Wireless website https://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/contact/email.jsp (I used "Other" as I didn't see Resolutions.
There are several (154) complaints, including mine, on the whocalledus.com website about the Verizon Wireless number 310-429-5382. They call at all hours of the day and night and when you answer they hang up. When you dial that number back you get a message from Verizon Wireless saying the number is changed, disconnected or no longer in service.
Many of the complainants say they have contacted Verizon with no help whatsoever. The same for me.
Since it is a valid Verizon Wireless number and a Verizon recording when you call it back then the question arises - Why is Verizon Wireless not helping with these complaints? And why, since the calls are being made from this Verizon number, does the Verizon recording say it is not a good number?
Verizon has told those of us who have called that there is nothing they can do. But your own "Our Rights to Limit or End Service or This Agreement - (f ) "spams," or engages in other abusive messaging or calling" seems to make that argument void.
Which makes it seem that these annoying phone calls are allowed to continue with the complicity of Verizon Wireless.
I am also lodging a complaint with the FCC and encouraging the others on the whocalledus.com and other websites to do the same.
The only real problem I see with that link is it requires your cell number. I don't know if it will take other providers numbers or how you would complain if you don't have a cell number but I'm sure there is a way. The FCC web site for complaints is http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
Hoping enough complaints will get someone moving on this.
I received this call (I am not the primary account holder), called the ACTUAL Verizon Customer Service number (*611 from your phone/800-922-0204
from a landline). According to Verizon, this is NOT their number and they would never call your secondary lines...
ATTENTION EVERYONE!!! THIS IS 100% POSITIVELY A SCAM! I CALLED FINANCIAL SERVICES TODAY WHO INFORMED ME THAT 1ST OF ALL THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE A CONTACT NUMBER THAT WASNT TOLL FREE. SECONDLY, WHEN YOU'RE A VERIZON CUSTOMER-ANY INCOMING CALLS FROM THEM SHOW AS 'VERIZON WIRELES!! IF YOU ARE TRULY BEHIND ON YOUR BILL YOU WILL GET A TEXT MESSAGE TO CONTACT FINANCIAL SERVICES, AND IF YOU'RE EXTREMLY BEHIND THEY WILL LEAVE YOU A VOICE MAIL SAYING TO CONTACT FINANCIAL SERVICES TO AVOID INTERRUPTION IN SERVICE-I KNOW PERSONALLY CAUSE I ALMOST ALWAYS PAY AFTER THE DUE DATE AND AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH THEIR BILL COLLECTING PRACTICES-THE GENTLEMAN I SPOKE TO TODAY DIDNT EVEN MENTION MY PAST DUE AMT WHEN I CALLED-WHICH IS USUALLY THE FIRST THING THEY MENTION WHEN YOU'RE BEHING- AND EVEN OFFERED TO BLOCK THIS NUMBER FROM CALLING MY CELL...THINK ABOUT THAT...WHY WOULD THEY OFFER TO BLOCK THEIR OWB NUMBER WHEN ITS OBVIOUSLY SO EASY TO PROVE IF THEY START CALLING AGAIN WITH ALTERNATE ONES SUCH AS FUTURE FAMILY FILMS!! ANOTHER ANNOYING SCAM COMPANY.. SO IF YOU'VE POSTED THAT YOU TRULY BELIEVE THAT VERIZON IS CALLING YOU THEN YOU ARE EITHER GULLIBLE AND HOPEFULLY NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFO-OR YOU ARE WORKING FOR THE SCAM COMPANY THAT'S REALLY CALLING US AND ARE TRYING TO MAKE THEM SOUND LEGIT!! IM POSTING THIS ON SIMILAR WEBSITES IN HOPES TO GET THE WORD OUT SEEING AS ONLY HALF OF YOU ON HERE KNOW THE TRUTH..SERIOUSLY CALL FINANCIAL SERVICES..ITS 1-800-922-0204
...THE SAME NUMBER THAT CALLS ME WHEN I REALLY AM BEHIND!!
866-284-4578 - I called this number back. It is Verizon with a promotion in an area that does not even have Verizon land line service at this time. We use Verizon for the cells phones and Verizon apparently is drawing upon this customer list for these calls. I was told to call customer service at 800-922-0204
to have my home telephone number removed from the call list. I called and was told that I needed to call 866-271-4795
to get my home phone number removed from the internal calling list for Verizon. JW/Houston,TX
s previously reported by others, the calls are from a third party agent for Verizon Wireless. In my case they have been calling 3 times a week since I started keeping track on Feb. 20, 2009.
I contacted Verizon Wireless (who I do have an account with) at 800-922-0204
and told them the issue. They placed me on there do not call list and said it would take 10 min. to be active.
since that call I received two more calls from their agent (the ones who keep calling from the 866 number) and I called them back.
Them: May I have your phone number
Me: Why do you keep calling me three times a week.
Them: Is this Mr. xxxxx
Me: See, you didn't need my phone number
Well it went down from there. I told them I had already contacted Verizon Wireless to complain and be placed on the companies do not call list. The 866 person claimed it would take 30 days I said Bull I was told it would take 10 min.
I told them to google their own number to see the number of complaints they are generating.
I then informed them that if I am contacted again, I would file complaints with the FTC, BBB, State Attorney General, and contact Verizon Wireless saying that they will be losing a customer at the end of my contract specifically because of this agent.
We will see what happens.
I just called Verizon (1-800-922-0204
) and asked to be put on their do not call list. The gentleman was very polite and asked if I would like to opt out of the regular mail/emails/text as well. They really aren't a bother to me with those so I said no but the calls are driving me nuts. He apologized more than once and took care of it for me. We will see if it actually works! According to the website they do have 30 days in which to remove it so I will just have to suck it up for that time period and wait it out. It's worth a try!! :-)
I've been getting calls from this number for several days, many times per day. I finally called Verizon Customer service today at 800-922-0204
and reported them. The person I spoke to was not aware of this problem, but will speak to a supervisor. They also offered to BLOCK this number from calling me. Yeah!!! They said that Verizon will NEVER call you from anything other than the 800 number I've listed, and to NOT give out any information. It sounds like a phishing scam, so do NOT give them any information. DO report the calls to Verizon's Customer Service, and they will be happy to block the jerks from bothering you anymore. Yeah!
This Verizon wireless number 310-429-5382 had a payment of $160 bucks posted on November 5, 2008 and the payments go back to July 08 BUT yet it's "not in service", BULLSHIT!!!! This number has an active debt account and VERIZON KNOWS WHO HAS IT!!!!! Call VERIZON 1-800-922-0204
, input the number into automated system and you'll be surprised!!!
California Nov 20th, 2008
Just talked to Verizon Wireless manager Casey and he took the complaint and is handing it over for resolution.
The number to reach Verizon is 1-800-922-0204
....you can also contact your own carrier to have the number blocked.
I have received about 30 messages from this #. I just called Vorizon to complain. If enough people call, they should look into it. 800-922-0204
After receiving several calls from 866-799-1702, I verified the following by calling Verizon Wireless at 800-922-0204
The outbound number, 866-799-1702, is associated with Cellular Central, a Verizon Wireless affiliate that offers phones and plans. I am still suspicious of this number and affiliation. I recommend not calling that number or leaving any info.
The number you are told to call back, 866-312-7541
, is Verizon Wireless Marketing, which was verified by an independent Verizon Wireless customer service representative (at 800-922-0204
), who called -7541 and asked the marketing person for her ID and location. It turns out that they were in the same building in the midwest. The Verizon Wireless marketing rep wanted to let me know about special offers, which I declined and asked that my number be removed from their list.
The Verizon Wireless customer service rep (at 800-922-0204
) also made sure that I am on the "no solicitation" list and she cleared my contact info from the solicitation section of my account. She also added the comment "no solicitation" to the "hot remarks" section of my account, which will display when my account is opened.
Don't bother returning the -1702 or -7541 calls. Just call your Verizon Wireless rep and asked to be removed from any phone, text messaging, or email solicitation. They should go into your account and actually remove the contact info you have in the solicitation section. Have them add "no solicitation" to the "hot remarks".
Called Verizon Customer Service @ 1-800-922-0204
. Spoke with rep and he put a marketing "block" on my home telephone number from further telemarketers. Definitely understood the situation. Time will tell if this works.
When a Verizon Wireless Representative from a call center calls out, It always shows as unavailable or restricted. Usually they will leave a message, if you see this number and you have verizon wireless cell phone service it is save to call it back!
