BCR called me 12 times from 2 numbers 800-831-7311 for the first and last calls, 952-259-1101 for the rest of the calls) between 12-1-09 and 3-31-10. After a flurry of calls in 12/09 and 1/10, they averaged one call every 2 weeks. They never left a message on my answering machine so I don’t know who they were looking for.

Whenever I have a caller ask to speak to the 'man of the house' (or some variation) I always say 'This IS the man of the house. Would you like to see my…(I think you get the point).' Of course, they hang up. They don’t call back either.

I give up on these guys. My number is a new number and I've told them over and over they have the wrong person. I just call them back, do not press any keys on the phone pad and just put the head set aside and let there recording play over and over (ALL DAY). It will run up their bill and maybe they will remove my number some day.

This number called me on 1/12/10 and tonight 1/13/10. Both times they asked for a person that does not live here, nor do I know who the person is that they are trying to call. Both times I told the woman on the phone that I have had my phone number for more than 7 years and asked them to stop calling.

They do not say who they are however in reading comments I believe they are WAMU Washington Mutual Credit Card as we are very much past due. Tough times financially nothing we can do. They call as do all the other debt collectors starting at 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. eastern time. My phone never stops ringing. I can do nothing as we took at hit just like many others in the country. I can not pay what I do not have. Wish someone would bail me out like they did Wamu/Chase now.

I believe it was BCR collections because I do not know anyone from Port Saint Lucie, FL with this phone number and then BCR also called from 800-831-7311 and do not know who they are either.

If you try to go to their website, they took it down I think. Just a blank box comes up. I'm having the same problem. They are looking for someone at my HOME NUMBER that does not live here. I have told them a zillion times that there is no one here by that name and they have the wrong number..... no one listens. I did send off a nasty letter to the company stating that they have the wrong number and they need to stop calling me or I will notify authorities. We'll have to see where that gets me. Sometimes they call 4-5 times a day.

Received 3 different calls using 3 different phone numbers to my home phone since 8AM this morning. Creditors/Debt collectors start calling shorting after 8AM and don't stop until 9PM on the East Coast. The numbers are identified as "Out of Area" on my caller ID, so used my cell phone to try to see who they were. Numbers being used to call, thus far, are: 800-831-7311, 866-395-5011, and 412-533-5064. Did some web searching and BCR is designated as being a debt collection agency utilized by WAMU (Washington Mutual Credit Card)and recently named their "Agency of the Year". I've been unemployed since 12/2007, surviving on unemployment since January; however, have had contact with several creditors due to inability to be bills. Some have been really nice and have worked with me to lower payments but, personally, I would rather deal with the creditor than their debt collectors as they can be a little more civilized! I'm tired of listening to people who can't speak English, can't pronounce your name, or want your personal banking information to accept a "check by phone" for the full amount currently in arrears. They just don't get it! If you don't have the $$ coming in to cover anything but the necessities (phone, electric, heat, food) and have gone without health insurance (praying you don't get ill or injured all winter)while trying to keep the mortgage paid and a roof over your head --- how the HELL are you going to pay credit card debt. I'm doing the best I can with what I have.

They call all the time . I do not answer my phone I have caller ID; All they do is full up your message services so you can not get call from others that matter. I am thinking of another way to stop the messages. If in fact they are debet collectors at some point people did pay their bill, are they looking at the news people are loosing their homes, cars life insurance and retirement funds. I dont care how many times they call me.
i do not care

It's BCR - they call for T-mobile collections - even when you talk to them, they're very hard to understand and they say they won't call you anymore but the calls keep on coming.....hour after hour, day after day...do they leave a message? No.

This is an easy one. Document, Document and Document. Keep a diary of the dates, times and any conversations you have. Once you receive your phone bill if it shows incoming calls copy it and attach it to the log. Always ask for the person's ID Number, and ask them for their full name. Make them spell it out. Then ask them for their fax number, send them a stop calling letter. Keep a copy of it in your log, then if they continue to call, and you have kept the paper work, just walk into your local court and file a small claim for 1,000. chances are if they fail to show up, and fail to show that they did not violate any FCC rules well you can go from there. You need to read the Fair Credit Reporting Act there is a ton of information there that will assit you in any problems with bad phone calls.

They have been calling for over a year for whoever used to have this cell number. They keep saying they will remove it from the list but they don't. I have registered the number on the Federal Do Not Call list and have sent an email to the COO. I am now preparing a list of the calls we receive from this point on and am requestoing a list of our phone records over the past year to prepare to go to file harassment charges with our local police.

Thank you all for the info.
I do, in fact, owe money, but have been out of work for 8 months- applying for jobs everywhere- and believe that my age is at least a factor. However, I tried to offer them- several times- a small consistent payment per month to show I'm trying to honor my debt. But they refused, saying they could not accept anything less than $650 to initiate a "hardship" payment of $55p/month thereafter. They wanted me to borrow money from my relatives and, at 61, I have already maxed out this "alternate solution" in order just to live.
Perhaps if they gave me a job doing what they do, I could make the payments they demand from me. Except...the demands of this job would create yet another employee removed from the focus person who is trying to meet their obligations.
I do not answer any of their calls now.

I have gotten 3 calls in the last week from BCR. Today is Sunday morning and we immediately called them right back because they keep calling. It was another recording that doesn't allow you to actually get through to anyone. The #'s on my caller ID have been different each time. One was listed as unknown, another was BCR 202-607-2732 ,and today was 1-800-831-7311. We don't owe any debt to be collected. There is no reason for them to keep calling.

They keep calling me on a debt that I used to owe but have taken care of it a long time ago (hey that rhymed)!

The first time they called they didn't tell me who they were so I didn't know. They just wanted to call me. I never EVER answer a call that I don't already have programmed into my phone first so bill collectors are just stupid if they think people are just not available to take their call. It means that everyone screens their calls! I'm a big fan of doing that so I just didn't fall off the turnup truck - come on people!

So last night when I was knob di*king around on my phone, I discovered a Call Reject feature. So all these annoying calls I've been getting, from collectors or anyone else I don't want to talk to, then I add to the reject list. But my mother called from a new number I wasn't familiar with so I accidently added her to the reject list but I've corrected that. So be careful. :-)

Called me July 7 for the first time. From a static-ridden phone. I couldn't hear a damn thing. 2nd time, called. Good reception - no statics. Asked for someone named Jose Barraza. I politely told them no one lived here by that name. Apologized and hung up. And has now been calling me since. They operate under several numbers. 202-607-2749. Their ID reads on my caller ID as: BCR 888-714-2338. Sometimes calls from a blocked #. Once called me at 7:49 am - which is isane and violating most of the laws. Will be taking drastic measures with my attorney.

PCR 800-831-7311 calls me every damn day...and I'm sick of it. They ask for me and ask me if the address is right...and it's not...if the last four of my SSN is right...and it's not...and by the way I don't even owe the amount that they say or much less to the visa that they say. I keep telling them that it's not the right person... Just today I argued with one (he said his name was Robert) that suggested that he talked to me a few a couple of months ago and that it was me and I haven't even been in the country for months and then hung up on me...how dare he. I have been nice, and now I have no choice but to be mean and scream at them and complain, I am tired of telling them to stop calling me but nothing works. Help!!!

800-831-7311 Bureau of Collection Recovery, I think Cingular hired them to call me. Thing is, I have NEVER had Cingular Wireless, I noticed that Cingular pulled my credit report recently, did some homework, found out that this # is a third party collections agency that Cingular has hired. I just sent BCR a nasty email, stating that they'd better stop calling or I will pursue all legal options against them. I've never had Cingular in my life!

This is too good. BCR was calling me with full caller ID, and under a different number 888-714-2338. after many phone calls and several times of being told they would take me off their list, they stopped talking if I answer the phone. If I dont, , they leave a message. But its not for me or anyone I know. ( my phone number is new, and apparently the previous owner owes a lot of money )
Anyway, they wont talk to me anymore, just leave messages. And now they apparently are not using full caller ID anymore. But they are in for a surprise. I contacted my Attorney General here in Missouri, and they said they can help me because this violates many of their telephone laws, including the DNC...
I filled out the offical complaint for Friday afternoon. I hope to hear from them soon.

Collection Agency - called about a debt that I don't even know. Person on first call was rude, so I hang up on him. Second call was nicer. Nonetheless, annoying people - don't pick up.

They got hold of the number my teenage child uses and refuse to stop calling.

I urge anyone being called by them to file complaints with their local phone company then after documenting 3 or four calls take the complaint to your local police department. You have protections under state and federal law.

I haven't had the pleasure of actually speaking to them yet. But I think they are collectors because I get them often for a former user of my number. Maybe these collection agencies are good at finding deadbeats; but they never seem to know where not to find one?

This is an illegal operation - but they hire very stupid and insolent people. One guy whose last name is "Brown" (he's lying, I recognize the voice and he's called with other names before) refuse to get a supervisor on the phone (3 months ago they promised to take my number off their list since their target isn't at this phone) - so at this point we all recgonize each others voices and they're in it for the harassment value. This is a dangerous game they are playing because one day, someone else with a shorter fuse than mine (and I have a short fuse) will make the trip to show up at their location and teach them a lesson the whole industry has been asking for.

Okay, so this BCR place calls me with the usual 2 numbers showing up on caller ID 619-374-0125 and 888-714-2338) so I call them back at 800-831-7311 only to have them ask if I know a "Passion Jones". Who the heck is that? I say no and he says okay we'll remove you from our list. Wouldn't you think if I legitimately owed $$ for something they would tell me why they called? Also on the caller ID it did say something about Cingular Wireless but for some odd reason that seems to have disappeared - how is that possible? Since I have NO cell phone and never have had one I think they are actually calling us from bogus cell phones (?). What do you think?

I received a call from ID - BCR - 1-800-831-7311 and 619-374-0125. Called # back and they would not tell me who they were.

They call 20 times a day, listen to my answering machine and then hang up. It gives 2 numbers on the caller ID - BCR - 1-800-831-7311 and 619-374-0125.
