They also call under 800-927-2291. It does no good to answer and tell them to stop calling. They want you to extend warranties on items you bought. They will bombard you about every 6 months. Eventually, the calls stop.

received call on 1/7/14 at 5:21pm Hawaii time. caller said my LCD warranty expired and wanted to know if I wanted to renew for 1 year. I said no if my tv breaks I would buy a new one. He said "right" and hung up. I felt that it was uncalled for and unprofessional. If he has that kind of attitude don't call any customer of Sears. It makes Sears look bad!

That rips it!! We go thru this crud several times a year from Sears extended warranty service. I think they must be outsourced from a foreign country or have wax build up in their ears, because they keep calling back after guarenteeing the calls will stop. They get downright snotty when you tell them not to call back, too.
Sears Corporation will be going out of business very soon, but we will get these calls long after Sears folds, because the warranty service has an independant life of its own.

I filed a complaint against Sears for these illegal and repeated calls with the Better Business Bureau. I then get a copy of a letter from Sears written by Dana Shoulders from 512-248-7740 with an email of Shoulders@searshc.com claiming that I purchased a extended warranty that expired 04/01/2013 and that I had purchased a TV in 2010 which gives them the right to call me at anytime they please.

The only problem is that Dana Shoulders is lying!

Folks, do not purchase from Sears!

They will violate Federal Laws and harass you over and over and over. Then their employees like Dana Shoulders will lie!

Here is a letter that I wrote 02/26/10 that shows just how rude and unprofessional Sears is... and make no mistake these repeated hangup calls are coming from Sears:

02/26/10

Sears Holdings Corporation
3333 Beverly Road
Hoffman Estates, IL 60179

847-645-4003

Attention: W. Bruce Johnson, Interim Chief Executive Officer and President

Re: Rude Unprofessional Telemarketing Calls

To Whom It May Concern:

As you read this letter, please keep in mind that the company who installed our Sears Water Heater, had to come out twice because the installation was done so bad that it failed the county inspection. Keep in mind that the installer actually stole parts to our water heater timer rendering it unusable!

(I actually watched him throw the parts into his tool box… not realizing what he had done until I went to use the timer several weeks later!)

Today, I received yet another rude unprofessional telemarketing call from Sears about renewing a worthless Sears Extended Warranty Service Contract. The call came multiple times from (800) 827-6655, (which has hundreds of complaints posted on the Internet.) The second time they called today, I ended up speaking with a person called Mike, who kept interrupting me. At which point I asked to speak with his manager.

When the manger came on the phone, he identified himself as Mr. Mike Burger. I found his conduct to be rude, unprofessional and condescending. In fact, he was so argumentative, that I even commented that if he continued, I would send off a complaint letter to the Sears Holding Corporation. His reaction was to place the phone on the desk as I listened to him talk to his employees!

I don’t want to ever receive another call from your unprofessional company again!

Sincerely,

Raven

Not only did the installation fail inspection... Parts to my timer were stolen by the Sears installers!

I have received calls from this number numerous times over the past three or four years. I never answer when the caller ID says the name is TOLL FREE CALLER. They never leave a message, which would be understandable if I owed them money. But i don't. And it is puzzling because, when Sears' call center in North Carolina calls me, my caller ID says SEARS. So, if they don't send their name along with the call, it's not because they don't know how.

Called several times in last week and weekend for several weeks now.
Last night about 9 pm.
Again this morning 3-13-2012, about 9 am.

caller ID always "Toll Free Call" 8009272291 or 800-827-6655 = same call and situation. Several times a day and week - weekend.
When I answered once a girl says calling my wife re a Sears warranty protection. We did buy some sears products last year.
Now we are really angry at Sears because of all these calls. If you search the numbers you will find a lot of complaints and upset people.

Do all you can to call Sears and report as well to FBI, FTC,FCC.

It is now blocked automatically by my computer with phonetray software (get it free) and by my panasonic caller id blocking phone - but I still get the calls and it shows up as a blocked which always automatically hangs it up after the first ring - yet they keep calling- this is intentional harassing and disturbing - a violation of Ca law and Fedaral law for harassment. Next I will go the law enforcement agencies because my computer logs all calls, time, number and caller Id "Toll Free Call". 8009272291 or 800-827-6655 -- So the more they call the more violations, more fines, penalities.

If we get more calls we will have to check with class action lawyers.

Also call SEARS to complain and write letters.

Go to SEARS dot com and complain if necessary.

I got the call today Sears, as I usually do every years about this time. They are calling to extend the warranty on the products you bought from them. I am not a fan of telemarketers, but this is something i welcome because appliances never seem to break down until after the warranty and the money I would have to pay for repair services alone more than covers the warrant fees I pay. Answer the phone if it is Sears and let them know you want it or you don't, at least the will stop calling.

If you go to the Sears web site (sears.com) you will see a partial list of companies owned by Sears listed at the top of their home page including K-Mart, Lands End, etc. When you click on "See All" you will see even more. So you can reasonably assume that if you do business in any way, i.e. in-store, on-line, etc., with any of these companies you will be added to their call list IF you provided them with your phone when you made a purchase. I took the advise of another poster and called the Sears' customer service number (1-800-469-4663) and asked to have our number removed from their call list. The rep was very nice and said we would not get any more calls from 800-827-6655 starting immediately. So far, we have not received any more calls.

Caller identified himself as calling from Sears regarding a "Kenmore" furnace I had purchased and Sears had installed a year ago. Message was that the warranty is ending and did I want to renew it?
Two problems (1) Furnace was not a "Kenmore", and (2) furnace has a 10+ year warranty! DUH!
Probably the call was from someone who has access to public records (there was a permit pulled for the installation) and they were just guessing that I (a feeble senior citizen) would fall for this quick line and qive them a credit card number to "buy a warranty extension". I said for them to simply mail me a copy of the warranty extension to me to review.
Not only will they not want to expend the time and effort to send me something to actually review (assuming they actually have something printed), but when they mail it, they will be risking violating federal laws about fraud by distributing it via the US Postal Service.
This means they won't do anything except remove my name from their calling list.

This telephone number, 800-827-6655, has been calling just about everyday, sometimes more than once per day and at times twice within the hour. Tonight they called at 7:55 PM with name as NOT PROVIDED. Since so many of you have said it is Sears calling I called Sears.com and spoke with a woman who said Sears did not that kind of stuff. I referred her to this website and began reading her off some of the comments to see if I could make a believer of her. She either got pissed off or tried to transfer me off to someone else but the line disconnected from her end, not mine. Then I called my local Sears store & asked for management. They are gone but will return at 10:00 AM when I plan on calling them again to tell them about the never ending nuisance calls, the many complaints from the people at the receiving end of the unsolicited calls and to refer them to this website in case they deny it like the woman at Sears.com tried to do. As for me, I will never buy anything from them again.

Annoyed: It's just as I said here in April, you might have to turn up your volume on paper, sent to Sears or its warranty provider via USPS CMRR. Thereafter no excuse for future calls will fly. Once the mint green card returns, you can answer the next call(s) with a summons for TCPA violation.

What many don't realize is that the ''established business relationship'' callers like this wave in your face can be overcome. Under the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) you can revoke call permission anytime, whether you're still a paying customer or not.

I have called this number back and requested that the calls stop, and I was told all calls would cease. After about a month of no calls, they started up again. When I called back, I was told that they had put a block on "one part but not the other". Again I was reassured that the calls would stop. Tonight another call came in, and when I called back just a minute later, I got a recording that said their offices were closed. I will call again in the morning and also report this on the national do not call list, again.

If you purchased electronics or an appliance from Sears (anything covered by a warranty), then they will try to sell you an extended warranty, and the Do Not Call registry won't protect you because you 'did business' with Sears.

The only thing you can do is ask them to stop calling (be able to prove it) and sue them if they don't.

Ginger, the TCPA allows a daily 13 hour call window beginning at 08:00 in your time zone, and the sales callers don't get "days off". Only your state law might overcome this. I don't otherwise know where so many people get the idea the calling period must start later.

It should go without saying that extended warranties are really frivolous insurance creating pure profit for the issuers. When a retail drone dutifully tries to upsell me such worthless paper, I have one response: "If I thought the item was so unreliable I wouldn't purchase it in the first place."

I think rather than get into a call blocking arms race, I would tell the callers flat out they are not welcome, revoking the consent they have borrowed simply because I brought home a new fridge. As commercial entities they should be keeping internal no-call lists. If they won't obey politely, send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with card.

I have spoke with 2 representatives from Sears; after approx 2 weeks of their calling 3-5times a day. No message is ever left; and in googling I see a number of other complaints. My protection plan was expiring or had already; they are trying to renew; in all of the calls I received I was hung up on when I answered more than once and finally got frustrated enough that I called back to try and stop the harassment. I spoke with a representative and told her in no uncertain terms I was aware the protection plan was expiring and if I had wanted to renew I would have called them; that they were to take me off their list and never call again. I was stern but polite; that was 8:30pm on 1-14-2011; much to my surprise 8:35am on 1-15-2011 my phone rang again and it was them - I was irate to say the least; I again told them to stop the harassment and I was then told it is an automated number and will continue to call me for 30days...I have since lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Yep. Sears Protection Agreement. They call when you have a Protection Agreement that is about to expire. They want you to renew. I called back, extension 5, gave them information they already had but had to confirm my ID. I politely told them I was not interested in renewing my SPA. They asked, "May we ask why?" I just said, "We don't really think we need it." They said, "Thank you, sir," and that was the end of the phone calls.

They next day a person called from the number at 7:00am on a Saturday morning (woke everyone up) and wanted to discuss the answers my wife gave. I have been receiving about three calls a day from this number for that past month or more. I finally called the number, and discovered it was from Sears Protection Services. I have had my name taken off the call list. It has been very annoying, having to drop whatever I was doing to answer the telephone. I did not pick up, as I did not know who was calling. I was told that it would take up to 30 days before the calls cease entirely, as it is an automated system. Why that should cause a delay I do not know. It is a sure fire way to LOSE customers!

They called and I politely told them I was registered with the Do Not Call registry and asked to be removed - the telemarketer remained silent (I could hear background chatter from others) at which point I told her if she was just going to sit there I would file a complaint.

I called back their number once more and explained the situation to another one of their telemarketers who INTERRUPTED me to explain that they MUST have business with us. I told him that I would ask him once more to remove my number before filing a complaint and he interrupted me again... I promptly told him to eat a dick and filed my complaint...

I know the DNC does not resolve individual complaints but hopefully something is done about these guys... looks like I'm not the only one.

Not only am I on the do not call list (which doesn't apply in this case because if you buy a product from Sears, you've "done business with them" and they can call. But a month ago, I spoke to a supervisor who swore she'd take me off their calling list. All's been quite for a full month. Now the calls have started back up. Six a day starting at 8am and ending at 9pm. I suggest if you MUST purchase a product from Sears and have to have delivery - purchase a disposable cell phone first then have the number changed as soon as the item has been delivered, otherwise their warranty department will NEVER leave you alone.

I got calls last night from 800-927-2291 from about 8:00pm to 8:20pm. They called me SIX times in that short period of time. The first time, I let it ring, as I know if it's a toll free number calling me, it's a solicitor and I don't want to be bothered. I did not answer the first time, then 2 minutes later they called again. This time I just answered and immediately hung up to stop the ringing (as they let it ring 15 times or so), they called back after that about 4-5 minutes later, then another couple of times. VERY ANNOYING!

So, this morning first thing, I get a call from 800-827-6655, I did not answer it. I came online and found that BOTH of those toll free numbers are from Sears Protection Agreements. I called the 800-827-6655 and told them to remove me immediately from their calling list. The girl asks for my phone number saying she could put me on No Soliciting. Then after I give her my phone number, she states that she also will need my name and address. I said I did not know for sure that this is even really Sears and I am not giving anything other than the number they keep harassing me at. She said she could not do anything without my name and address.

So, I went to Sears.com and got their customer service number and was told to call the Protections Agreement people directly at 800-927-7836. So, I called them and told them to remove my phone number immediately. I also told them that I had received in the mail a Protections Agreement offer for a power washer I purchased back in 2005! Five years ago, I purchased this and they are calling me and harassing me like there is some kind of an emergency!

So, the man or lady that answered the phone (could not tell by the voice and name) is Jermayn. She said she would remove me and apologized. I told her that from a company like Sears, this is VERY unprofessional to call someone so many times in a 20 minute period then to start it right back up the next morning. I also told her that this is a common practice as there are many complaints online at many different websites about this issue.

Hope this information helps someone else.

Called every 40 minutes for several days until we finally got ticked and picked up. I've asked them repeatedly to remove us from their list. They say they will and then don't. They have other numbers, as well.

I received a call on an unlisted number I use for my office line. "Toll Free" and the number were listed on the caller ID. I didn't say anything, and the line remained silent until it timed out and disconnected. If it is Sears, I should not be getting calls from them on that unlisted number!

Not sure who it is but I have fun fucking with them...find a soundboard on the web....then when they call put the phone up to the speakers and let "Joe Pesci" answer the phone. One of the rants from him and they tend not to call back.

Called at 8:00am on a Saturday! Have received 5-6 calls. They never leave a message. Have bought several small appliances from them. I am happy with the purchases, but not about these phone calls.

This is the 2nd call today. They don't leave a message. It could be Sears as I recently purchased 3 AC from them. They usually call at dinner time

It is Sears who have called 6 times a day for the past 3 weeks ...I finally had enough and answered the phone and asked them to take me off the phone list. They are HARRASSING people who didn't buy an extended warranty at the time of purchase on household items and demanding to know WHY we didn't take out an extended warranty. They call from 9am -9pm every day of the week, Sundays included. They said it would take 30 days to remove my phone number from their phone list

Claimed to be Sears, asking about built-in microwave ovens. I neither have one nor do I want one.

They not only call to renew extended warranties, but also to try to get you to buy them. Recently purchased appliances at Sears, and didn't buy the warranties. So now they call. If I could get someone to answer me when I actually pick up the phone, I'd tell them to take me off the list. No-call list does no good whatsoever. If you buy something from them, you're fair game.

This was a "Sears Service Warranty" call attempting to renew an Extended Warranty. Totally harmless.

Sears selling warranty for garage door opener. It was a good deal. Verified caller by asking what repair parts were used on the repair.

After reading all these posts, I called the number, pressed 5, and asked to be removed from their call lists. They said they would do so and that I would stop receiving calls within 72 hours. I'll keep my fingers crossed (but won't hold my breath)!

Yep, good ole Sears warranty. My warranty on several items runs out in 2 weeks. They love to call on weekends.

Every day for the past 2 weeks, sometime twice a day they called. I answered one time and she asked if I wanted to extend my warranty on my refrigerator. I asked which one. She told me. I told her to let me check with wife and get back to her. She wanted to wait while I asked. I told her NO that I would call back. Week later received same call and I asked again which appliance she told me a Kenmore refrigerator that was bought in 2005 and do I still have the appliance and I said no!

I recently had repair work done by Sears at my home, and since then they have been calling every day. Sometimes they leave a message, sometimes (like today) not. Botheration.
