I keep getting these calls from 1-800-825-4425 from Apellis from time to time,& this time was a lady saying her name was"Sunshine"that she wanted to collect on an un-settled debt!!!...REALLY!!!! "Freck'in scammers!!!

BS Collection Agency that HAS to identify themselves. Refusal violates laws.
Immediately hang up on them and send them a Cease & Desist letter (see
below) and if they keep it up - get a lawyer and sue them for $1,500 a call.

Hello Everyone. I understand your difficulties with this number.. I have experienced the some of the same things.. I am not the person they were calling for (more the twice daily). But since my house phone is pretty much my cell phone, I decided to take care of this so that it wouldn't be a problem for my mother who is extreamly busy. So here is my short experince of what happend today with this number:
I was on the phone and I recognized the number (because they call daily). When I picked up, once again, they said nothing. So I called the number back and a machine said all of the reps. were busy. Then they hung up. I called 3 times with the same result. Then I called a final fourth time and as soon ass the "all the reps. are busy" message was over, I said, "Hello?" I got an answer and I told him that this number had been calling my number and I wanted the calls to stop because they wouldn't say anything.. He asked for the number they were calling.. I told him and he said they were trying to get ahold of (my mother's name) and asked me if I was her.. I told him no and he said that he would make a note that they had the wrong number and he would make sure that people from his office wouldn't call me again.
So basically.. Just call their number and ask for them to stop.. No one had gotten rude with me so you should be safe from that. I hope I helped some of you!! Thanks.

What a little snot .... "Are you sending a check", indeed! ATX, the collector cannot refuse to give you a business name and address. Pretending to take another call doesn't cut it. If they're certain you owe something you should see a dunning letter within about week of that first call. If they're just skip tracing and you're not the target, it's cease-comm time. Document all calls, record them if feasible. They've already already lost some trust points.

I receive 3-4 calls daily from this company. I answer--say HELLO--then they hang up. Today I called the number back and waited for a representative. She and I spoke briefly then hung up. I then called back again to get their Name/Address--I asked the rep for information, she was talking over me stating who they were contacting, I repeated I wanted Name/Address, she said "Why are you sending a check?" I repeated for her to give me Name/Address--she said "I have someone on the other line, hold on." Then she hung up on me, so I came here. Thank you for the useful information about the company.
Okay RB, we get it. You're getting many calls, and you don't have anything new to report. There is already a call summary field above. Instead of taking that noise for four months, you could have done something more direct by now.
Everyone should study the comment from CY back in February 2010. Very good and reasonable questions were asked of the collector, and the only game they have is getting pissy and making illegal threats. Verbal sparring won't get you anywhere with rogue collectors like this, except maybe to gather evidence of Federal violations. The FTC and many consumer groups explain the best ways to respond to these calls, through Certified mail.

Still more robo drama. I wish that these calls would stop. They call several times a day yet leave no messages.

These folks called my house againd and did not leave a message. I wish that these calls would stop.
They called my house again yesterday and did not leave a message. I do not answer unknown, no number available calls, or 800 numbers that I do not recognize.
I've recently received numerous calls from this company, Appelis, which leaves a message for me to return their call at 1-877-825-4490

When calling the number to request that they quit calling my cell phone, which costs me money- while I am using a prepaid phone, I am redirected to a voice-mail box for a man by the name of William. Whether a collection agency, a scam, etc..., the calls are repeated, inopportune and redundant. My thoughts, "Yes, I've received your message, the first time that you left it, as well as the third, fourth and fifth, so... if I wanted to conduct business with you, then I would."
Either way, I wish everyone luck in finding a solution to this problem.

scammers, rude, knew too much about our personal life...hubby position as exec work, father wealth , my jewelry, told me to sell it, i only got a letter in mail...i yelled at her, she demanded i stop interrupting her, yet i called her every interruption....she threaten lean on house,isaid how u gonna get that one from irs...lie lie, she say for me get job, and i say hipa law b--tch, i cant even drive...etc etc..lie lie...till finally i tell her retired atty and im taping all her felonies...plus this bogus call i taped for fcc...she shutup and hung up, never to b heard again...till today got daughter manager on his private line..never spoke to her, say represnt us bank...pres of bank friend..again bogus...soooooooooooo...as an non practicing attorney, im making them my target as a hobby.....quit to raise kids....they just didnt do a long enough background or updated check...oh and new job is taking us to their headquarters area..lol cant wait

My husband's parents keep getting calls from this number over the past year. Today my mother-in-law finally got man (Bill Johnson) to tell her what the collection was suppose to be for (of course illegal since she not my husband) it was for a Huntington Bank line of credit that he supposedly opened in 1980 (that would make him 3). They told her if the money was not paid by 4pm today both my husband and father-in-law would have legal action taken. My husband called they would not connect him to the person his mom spoke to. The girl(dont know her name) then told him it was a checking account over drawn amount needed $1100 but if he paid today it was only $700. Husband told her he was told that it was a line of credit. She said she was not able to tell what type of account it was since she did not have clearance to see it and Bill was a manager. Husband told her never had account she got rude, he called huntington they had him in the system as having an account that was acquired in a bank merger that had been closed, but that was it. The bank rep said that Apelles should have all info and be able to provide it. (Since this took place when he was 3, we are worried about identity theft). Called Appelles back husband told them he wanted a statement sent that showed the details of the account because we think it's ID theft. The man (lamont) told him he needed to pay the account immediately regardless he owed $1100 but if he paid today it would only be $700. My husband said he wanted to see details on the account, including copies of his signature page (again,since we think it's id theft wanting to protect ourselves). Lamont kept repeating he needed to pay immediately, my husband said he would not pay anything until he was able to see details in writing to try and sort through this with our family attorney. Lamont hung up...
So is it ID theft and a legit but rude collection agency or is it a "boiler room" (I know wrong industry, but don't know collection lingo)collection agency giving enough info hoping you'll just get too scared to question and pay up without looking into details?
This is abogus collection agency...they will try people who live in your area to find a person they are looking for. The best thing to do with this company(if you get a rep) is tell them to remove your number from their database. If it continues, then report them to the general attorney in you state.
They have been calling for my father for several months. He does not answer unknown, no number available calls, or 800 numbers that he does not recognize. Today they called me on my cell phone asking for my father. I asked several times who they were, what they did, and what company they represented. The woman refused to answer my questions, insisted I put my father on the phone. She got very rude and eventually hung up. As far as we know he has no bills that are past due so no reason for any collection agency to be calling. If they call again I will file a complaint with my state attorney general for harrassment.
They were looking for my friend Kati to collect a debt and somehow got my number and asked me if i knew where she was. They were very rude.
Appears to be a collection company. Agent was not willing to transfer me to Tiana Booker, who is the person that originally called. He said she was gone for the day. My Number did not come up in their data base, because I am an attorney and my client says the debt they are claiming is bogus. The agent was not willing to leave a message for Tiana Booker.

i get a recording then they hang up. i tried 3 times calling back and they do the same thing. please hold on. then they hang up on you. got a person then he hung up on me. before i could say really anything.
This phone call comes in 3 to 4 times daily. It reads unknown on caller ID with 000-000-0000
as the number. It is rather annoying and I'm not calling back. I think it will only make them call more. Problem is the call rejection feature on my phone service won't reject it with no number. smart alecks..

Went on vacation and had my ansewering machine blow up on me with messages from appells. Called them back and they said my number was not in there data base. Does any one know what this company is really doing?

. I just had to call them to find out just who they were. A person will answer the telephone and begin by asking you questions. Such as; Did you receive a call from us? Did someone ask you to call us? Say that you dialed their number by mistake. They are not going to give your any info on who or what the company does. So just say that you called them by mistake. They did give me the correct spelling of the company name 'APELLES'. Do a google search. The companys' website tells it all. Apparently, some company or firm has hired the bounty hunters and unleashed the bloodhounds on you.

Calling on my cell phone. Absolutely no idea how anyone got that since only immediate family has it. Never had any dealing with this company ever. Don't know why they are calling. The number that came up on my phone 000-000-0000
but asked me to call them back at 800-825-4425. If they are legitimate and have legitimate business to conduct, why mask their phone number?
has called six times in the last two weeks, saying to call back "this is not a sales call." When I called back they refused to say who they were. In googling their number, their business is located in Westerville, Ohio. Their website implies that they are a debt collection agency. I recommend anyone interested to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

I called back and they were trying to get ahold of my son regarding an outstanding debt.
Company = Apelles collection agency.
Asked to be taken off the list.
I received a call from "614-000-000" on my caller ID that had a recorded message from Apelles saying to call "800-825-4425". I called the number to ask why they've been making unsolicited phone calls. The gentleman said they were trying to reach someone that doesn't live at this number. When I asked what phone number he was trying to reach her at, he gave me a number that was not my home phone number. I asked to be removed from their database and he supposedly complied.
Recieving a recorded message about 2 times a month. Havent returned call
got recorded announcement on my CELL PHONE.. I hung up.
