207-614-6174 is back at it again on,and other classified websites, fraudulently 'selling' RV's, Cars, Trucks, SUV's, 4 Wheelers, etc. None of the items they claim to be selling do they actually own. It's nothing more than a Wire Transfer/Western Union money scam. They respond with info about it, but claim that it's located in another state and that they'll have it delivered to you via a shipping company and that you'll have to pay for the shipping. IT'S A SCAM! Don't fall for it. Accounts Receivable Management is a collection agency that has been in business since 1975. Accounts Receivable Management is headquartered in Thorofare, New Jersey, and has offices in Louisville, Kentucky, and Midland, Georgia. Accounts Receivable Management collects on debt originally owed to credit card companies, retail stores, hospitals, auto finance companies, and student loan companies.

According to its Web site, Accounts Receivable Management’s “commitment to service and excellence is second to none.” However, according to its track record, Accounts Receivable Management’s collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The FDCPA has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collects can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.

According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), Accounts Receivable Management has been sued over 100 times in the last 3 years for debt collection harassment. It does not get any better for Accounts Receivable Management on the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau has processed over 70 billing/collection issues, and over 85 total complaints, regarding Accounts Receivable Management in the last three years.

Accounts Receivable Management has several telephone numbers it places debt collection calls from. Since it was a holiday, I was actually there to answer the phone when the scammer called. The scam originates from India, but he gives the company name and address as "Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, 8900 Sree Bond Parkway, Irving, TX 75063". (He spelled out the name of the road.) The caller gave his name as "Steve Jones", which I presume is not a very common Indian name. I don't think that the address is likely to be in India, either. It is an obvious scam. Presumably trying to get credit card numbers. They have now called seven times. (Of course, he denied having ever called before.) Apparently they are part of a ring of scammers that has called more than 400 times in the past three years, trying to collect fake debts owed by a variety of fake names. (We have no debts; they always ask for random names of people we have never heard of. This time [the 7th call] it was some vaguely Asian-sounding name, but he refused to spell it out and I couldn't even begin to guess at the spelling, with the scammer's accent.) The scammers also use the names NCO Financial Systems, Inc., IC SYSTEM, Portfolio Recovery Associates, Allied Interstate, M S Gerald, Accounts Receivable Management, Bureau of Collection and Recovery, Inc., G C Services Limited Partnership, NCC Business Services, Midland Credit Management, Capital Management Services, Inc., United Collection Bureau, Inc., Valentine & Kebartas, Juniper Apple Credit, Chase Student Loans, and Nelson, Watson, & Associates. I have reported this scam many times to the FCC, the FTC, and the Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation. Only the Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation actually does anything about them. The Feds don't even try to enforce the laws. These calls are illegal under the Federal DoNotCall list and (since they are repeatedly calling third parties) the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a.k.a. FDCPA. Of course, running a credit-card scam or an extortion scam also violates Federal and state laws. This particular caller did not seem to understand any state or Federal laws.

This cannot be a legitimate collection agency. It is some kind of scam. We have no debts and we have had the same phone number for more than ten years. They and at least a dozen other "debt collection" scammers working with them have called our house more than 400 times.

Keep calling everyday looking for someone that had my phone number before, tell them nobody here by that name and still calls back in less than an hour.

Calls to let you know your payment is late beginning a day after 30 days past due, they actually give you great amount of time before they begin to call.
 Jul 23rd, 2010
Calls every day between 7 and 7:30 a.m. at my work. I know I do not owe them--I have never financed anything through anyone, I pay cash or take out personal loans from relatives. I have called several times and the customer service people tell me they cannot help me because my name is not in their system so my phone number must mistakenly be in their system. Therefore they cannot take me off their list. They have been calling for about 50 days straight.
