They call themselves "professional account services".

This is their toll free #

Brentwood TN 37027.

Per a search of that name.

Yeah, thanks ''Gram''. You're such a peach for giving shills like Becca something to do, mainly trying to cover for the many reports from PASI call recipients of sloppy skip tracing, abusive call center reps, and illegal tactics.

Medical billing in America is besides such a model of dysfunctional corporate behavior that hospital accounts handed to a third party collector need to be disputed on principle. You do not ''settle'' with collection agencies which deny your rights. You make them work to prove claim, gather evidence of violations, and sue them when you have a case.

The homework begins here:

The comments from "got it wrong" in Nov. 2009 are mostly correct regarding your options. A few modifications:

In August 2010 the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that single party consent is just peachy for recording the phone person-to-person, so long as your intent is not in some way criminal or malicious. Sure, you could hedge your bets and announce recording, but this often causes the rep to either refuse to continue, or grudgingly switch to Very Best Behavior. I say let the collector decide how far to stray from FTC regs, and let a judge or arbitrator decide what's admissable.

Debt validation requests are your critical first line of defense if a collector's claim on you could be valid. If 100% certain you're not the target of the skip trace, send a cease-comm notice. Send either notice via USPS Certified with card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how and why to draft them. Such a response could have made David's ordeal from last summer much shorter than five months. Very likely he and Bea took behavior which was not merely rude but in violation of the already discussed FDCPA.

Callers who sound evasive are pussyfooting around a conflicting mandate within the same law. A collector must make "meaningful disclosure" of its identity yet respect the privacy of whoever is named on a debt account. Collectors are in constant fear of lawsuits arising from talking to anyone but the named account holder. Of course, being shadowy works in their favor to make call targets anxious.

Start learning your rights at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.

They called me this morning. No message was left. I called them back. Put the last 4 of my ss# in and was transferred to a rep. They asked what # they had called. When I gave them my # they told me who they were trying to reach. This is a new # for me. I explained that & they said they would remove me from their call list. I am so glad to not have the horror stories most of you have had.

This caller called for my Dad and would not disclose why he was calling. My Dad cannot hear well enough to talk on the phone which I told this man and he asked me if I had power of attorney. That is no one's business except mine and my Dad's.

This number showed up on my new phone everday for 3 months. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. I had been trying to
answer to tell them that this is a new number for me but only got air. The two time I did get to talk to someone, I was called a liar and then they attempted to give me a lecture on being responseable and paying my dept. I kept trying to interupt to tell them I was only 15 and had no dept. Finally just hung up on them. 2 months later still getting calls from them. I told my parents about it and they had our attorney call them. Have not received a call since. It took 5 months to get them to stop call a minors phone.

The number belongs to Professional Account Services, Inc.

Someone called me from this number, very nasty to me demanding personal information. When I asked who they were they said it was for student loans. When I asked how much the debt was for they stated the wrong amount. I had paid over a third of my loans off the previous year and they had not factored that in. I still had not given the woman any information. I was in a grocery store and told her so. It was 4:30 PM She threatened me by saying that if I didn't call her back before 5PM she would have to take further action to collect the debt. She was so nasty to me that I hung up on her.

These people call all the time and let me tell you it's so annoying! They are a debt collector for some medical company and I have no idea why they are calling me!

They are a collection company regarding Doctors and Hospital Bill Collector. Don't answer.
 Feb 09th, 2010
They got it wrong with my number too. My name is similar to someone else they are trying to collect on and I get a lot of calls from different collection companies. They just don't listen and assume you are lying and keep calling and call repeatedly each day. Don't just file with the State Attorney General. You can also file with the FTC. They are also only allowed to call once a day. If they call repeatedly each day for several days you also have a case to hire an attorney and file under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You can get up to $1,000 but they also have to pay theirs' and your legal fees. You can drive those up for them by having your attorney subpeona each and every person that has called and left a message, called another person, called your child, subpeona their telephone records if you don't have records from your telephone provider of incoming calls, their IT or programming people that set their auto dialer to call you repeatedly to show it's policy for them, etc. The more you can drive the cost to them up the more willing they are to give up, especially if they've got the wrong person and keep calling.

You should also send them a validation letter via certified mail asking them to show that the debt is legitimate, it is yours, that they are legally able to collect it for the original debt holder, etc. YOu can find examples of validation letters online. Also include the above in the letter and a request to cease and desist calling until they have responded to and proven the info in the request to validate and given you adequate time to verify their information. If you request in writing that they stop calling legally they are obliged to for this period.

The risk with this is if you owe the debt they could respond to the validation letter and also file a suit. YOu can only legally sending them a validation letter binding on them within 30 days of their initial dunning letter informing you they are attempting to collect a debt from you. If they sent no such letter you can file complaints about this as well but the courts generally assume they have sent the letters.

It also helps to record their calls if you live in a state that allows people to record their own conversations. If not, respond to them only by leaving messages after hours if you choose to speak to them at all and let them know you will communicate in no other manner unless they give you permission to record which they never will. This way you will have a recording of everything they say to you.

It seems today nearly everyone has to study up on their rights under the Fair Debt Collections Act and learn how to protect themselves even if they have good credit and owe no debt. It's a sad state of affairs. We need to learn how to fight back and get everyone doing it.

It would help if you live in a state that does not allow you to record your own conversatios you should contact your legislators and demand they change the law. There are only 11 states that do not allow it. Mine, PA, is one of them but there is a bill being introduced to change that. It is an especailly good idea because it protects people in other ways such as other kinds of fraud. Examples might be promises made by people you do business with, any kind of threats of any kind made against you and many other things that happen in the greedy and angry culture today. So if you live in PA write an email or letter or make a call to your legislator and let's make it one more state where the individual can better protect him or herself.

This is a medical collections service when you call it states so but could not get assistance.

Repeated message and over saying it was not a sales call and too hold for operator. Did not reference which company, etc... I have no medical debts or collections accounts
 Sep 21st, 2009
When I called this number back, I learned that someone gave my number out stating it was theirs, I'm assuming to avoid collections. After talking with them for a bit, they agreed to take my number off the list. They were very accommodating.

Collection agency for medical billing. Sunbury Hospital was told by my health insurance to NOT bill me for a $50 co-pay because my husband was admitted to the hospital. Sunbury won't waive the fee because they ended up having to LifeFlight my husband to Geisinger because they couldn't handle his situation and now want the emergency room co-pay of $50. I've been dealing with them for 5 months and then they sent it to this collection agency, Professional Account Services, Inc. I owed Sunbury Hospital other money and paid that off, so now it's just the disputed amount. I'm about ready to just pay it because I'm tired of the phone calls over $50.
 Aug 25th, 2009
lock haven hospital set up payment arrangments with there billing and still had there collection unit calling they explained to me that anything after 30 days is turned over to them even if your on arrengment which makes no sense
 Aug 25th, 2009
Medical debt collection agency. I'll add it to my list of 5 that are trying to get my broke self to pay money I don't have.
 Aug 12th, 2009
They are calling you
A. Because you owe a bill and it has been turned over to collections, because it has been around 90 days from the date of service, even if you are paying on it.
B. Because someone gave your number out, in which case you ask them not to call
They aren't going to steal your identity or hunt you down.
The best thing to do is to answer the phone, be honest, and don't hang up on them, because when you hang up, they will call back the next day. There are laws. They aren't calling more than once a day, because it is illegal. If they are, it is an automatic dialing system...there is no reason to be afraid, just call and tell them they have the wrong number if so. If not, try setting up a payment plan to pay the debt they are calling you about and they will stop calling. Simple. People like to release all their anger onto collection agencies. That is why the collectors are rude. Talking to defensive angry people who need to learn where to direct their anger and control it.
 Jul 28th, 2009
First of all, they never say who they are or who they are trying to reach. This is required. Don't answer any call that does not reference the person they are trying to contact or give evidence of the nature of the call. Most important, never give out any personal information to them (or anyone else).
 Jun 24th, 2009
This number called me incessantly a number of months back and leaving messages at all points of the day. When I returned their call they were rude, arrogant and hung up on me. Before doing so, they told me they looking for a neighbor that used to live across the street. Asked me if I had a new address for them. I was furious. They are calling me about a neighbor? I asked them what authorized them to call me looking for another person. I have a published number and address. They clearly knew they were not calling the person they were looking for. The calls have started again. I can only wonder what this will be about. I am under the impression they buy old debt and try to collect on it. They use unorthodox practices and in my opinion are not ethical . They are the scourge of the debt world.

1-800-755-5152 calls at least 3 times a day 24/7 and ask if Terry is home...this is a joke and they were very rude insisting I was Terry and needed SS# or CC# to verify that I was not Terry.
 May 15th, 2009
The hospitals charge so much that insurance does not cover it all. Then when I pay them $25.00 per month on a $600.00 bill that is left the just freak out and turn it over to a collection agency. They will get their money when they damn well get it. I ain't freaking rich.

 Feb 25th, 2009
They keep calling from 800-755-5152 when I tell them that I never heard of the person they are asking to talk with. I have told them at least 8 times and they keep calling. They are a collections company from Tennessee called Professional Account Services. I have just reported them to my state's attorney general for harrassment.
 Jan 28th, 2009
800-755-5152. These people call everyday including Sunday. I tell them I never heard of the person they ask for, but that must be too heavy for them to remember. I am on DNC lists and will write to the Tenn Attorney General's office today and the FTC. If you ask them how stupid they are - they hang up. Google them and they are collecting medical bills as Professional Account Services. If you call them back they put you on hold and never return to the line. RUDE PEOPLE!
 Jan 13th, 2009
1-800-755-5152. Pick up calls and get dial tone or nothing (dead line). Then click and dial tone. Never left a message. Very annoying people.
 Jan 09th, 2009
1-800-755-5152. Call multiple times a day and I get nothing but dead air when I pick up the phone. I even pick it up after 2 rings and again dead air. They never leave a message even on the calls when I might not be home. I do not know who they are other than annoying.
 Jan 08th, 2009
The hospital told me this was professional account services- "in-house" collections.
 Dec 09th, 2008
Get on the internet and Look up "collection laws" or "collection agencies laws for you state", Don't let collection agencies bully or badger you. You will be surprised what you read when you look the laws up.

 Oct 21st, 2008
It's 12:30 PM, on Oct 16, 2008. I have already received NINE, yes NINE calls from 1-800-755-5152. I think my X did owe money to an area hospital. I have delt with collection agencies and I cannot say anything nice about them--- none of them. Yes, I could pick up the phone and answer it, but I chose not to. I am under severe pressure and don't need to get upset anymore.

Yeah, I've recieved a call from this number three to four times a week. It's starting to make me mad. I never answer but they ALWAYS leave a message saying, "This is an important message for you, please call 1-800-755-5152" Well, if it's that important then tell me on the message otherwise, heh..I'm not EVER calling you back.

Sorry, needed to vent. I'm a college student and I don't appreciate turning on my phone and thinking my family has called me only to find out that it's the same 800 number as before.

This DEFINITELY is a debt collection agency from TN. They are very annoying, and do specialize in medical bills. You have certain rights, ie there are certain things they can't do or say, like call after 9pm, or threaten you with jail, if they have, talk to a lawyer. Would any of you be interested in signing a petition on making it easier to file for bankruptcy exclusively b/c of medical bill debt please post your email address.
 May 22nd, 2008
They called me on my cell phone every day for weeks. I never pick up unless I recognize the number or caller ID. Ever since the first time I got the recorded message on my voice mail, I just hit the "ignore" button when I see that number. Funny, but they haven't been calling as often lately..........
 May 17th, 2008
They left a message on my voicemail on my cell phone saying to call back at my earliest convenience. When I called back, they asked for my personal information without identifying what company they worked for. If this is a debt collection agency in Brentwood, TN, I have no idea how they would have gotten my number because it is an out of state number and I have no outstanding debt whatsoever. I would be careful before I gave these guys any personal information.

This is a dept collection agency.

I've been receiving some calls from them too, they call me early in the morning, and late at night. Weird thing is, I don't have any debts or medical bills. At least not outside of my student loans through another company.

I talked to Erica from this company who was rude as hell. She told me to google the information that I needed. How stupid is she to think that I am going to pay her for anything when she can't tell me what I am paying for. Do yourself a favor and pay the money to who it is owed to.
 Jun 19th, 2007
i have been getting these phone calls from this number too. i have an answering machine and this is the message they left "We have an important message for you, please call 1-800-755-5152 at your earliest convenience".

Person called me at my job, saying it was a personal business matter to contact-Lorenzo at 1-800-755-5152 ext.8732 at my earliest convenience.
 Jun 07th, 2007
It is against the law for them to identify themselves as a collection agency on an answering machine. I've had calls from them too. If you cal back an politely tell them that you want payment arrangements, they'll work with you. I pay $10 once a month for my medical bills. If you don't their liable to find out where you work and garnish you wages.
 Jun 07th, 2007
Been receiving calls from them, appears to be a debt collection agency. When I informed them that the person they were trying to reach did not live at this number, they politely indicated that they'd stop calling. Will have to wait and see if they do.
 May 22nd, 2007
Their message stated "we have an important message for you, please call 1-800-755-5152 at your earliest convenience."

They WILL NOT identify themselves! Therefore, I WILL NOT call back.
