I get this number calling and the voicemail tells me it’s from the social security Administration and that they will permanently block my number until I reach them!

This number called my phone an hour ago but did not leave a message. A quick search online indicates this might be scammers trying to pretend the US Postal Service is calling. Definitely beware!

Sept. 10, 2019: +1-800-742-5877 number was left on my cell phone, caller left no voicemail message. I looked up the number & sites show UPS . I see reports below, that it's probably scammers.

This showed up on my cell phone as a missed call from Elmhurst IL. I called the UPS 800 number (1-800-742-5877
) and they said 630-628-2346 is frequently used in fraudulent activity. The UPS woman I spoke to forwarded it on to their fraud dept.
It's UPS. It's their main office number. lol
I received a call today from this number. They were calling about jury duty summons and that we did not respond to them. They asked for my husband's and my workplace address and phone number to verify if we worked 40 hrs a week. Said that we could be exempt from jury duty. Is this possible?
some guy called saying he had a certified letter from UPS. This person actually called my neighbor to verify my address and see if I was home. When my husband called the number back, it was a UPS number. UPS had no record of any delivery to my home address. This 1=800 number called my husbands cell number as well. Very strange. Does anyone know why they are doing this? What is the purpose?
After a 4 1/2 month hiatus, it looks like these guys are back at it again. Based on what I've read, this sounds like a scam. One more call and I'm tempted to call UPS and report this...
Called at 8:41 this morning and didn't leave a message.
As this phone number is hitting my caller ID on average of 4-5 times per day (sometimes showing up as UPS and sometimes out of area) may I suggest calling UPS at this number and reporting that someone stole their CID (caller ID) and using it to call people's homes. UPS will in turn report it to their security department.
Skyped this number - it is for UPS (the mnemonic is 1-800-PICK-UPS like you see on their brown trucks). Possible that scammers could fake their CID to make it look like UPS is calling.
Called claiming to be a parcel delivery service, asked for information about someone else's house description in my neighborhood. very suspicious, man had a Texas-type accent. Gave no info.
Called UPS Customer Service (800.742.5877 - request "agent") and asked to be placed on "Do Not Call" list. They transferred me to UPS marketing folks and they promised no more calls from marketing. Time will tell...
Called the first time and wanted me to send them $1.98 in postage and handling for some kind of government grant information. I wouldn't. Every call after the first one goes dead after I say 'hello' twice.
