I just received a call from Great Lakes, one of many that have resulted in me having to call them back and tell them I'm not a man named Gregory. Because of their slip-ups, I know a perfect stranger that went to Iowa State University and is now in default with his student loans. Because I received an automated voicemail a few times, I know his full name is Gregory Bryant. They have called from several different area codes, but today it was this 800 number. They asked for my social security number, and I told them I wasn't going to give them that because I know I have no business with them. I work with Sallie Mae directly, and there's no reason for them to have a third-party calling me up for "insurance" purposes. The lady was very nice and apologized for the mix-up, but I requested that my number be removed. If I receive another call, I'm going to the next step and filing a complaint. I don't know how much good that will do after reading the posts on this site. Mr. Bryant, my phone number is not yours. Give them a current working number so they will leave me alone.

I can't afford to pay my school loan so I just let these a holes call and hang up.
They call everyday and let the phone ring 2 times and then hang up no message. Very annoying
They call here every day, sometimes several times a day, and it is very annoying. They even called on Sunday. They will be reported.
No one here has a student loan. We are retired. Duh.
Some jerk gave them MY phone number so they call every day. I've never even HAD a student loan!
They call every day around 3:30, and I'm never home. They want somebody name Megan, but nobody lives here by that name. They never leave a call-back number.

My student loan is paid OFF so they have no reason to call.
They call ever single day. I have no idea why and it's annoying.
