My Situation: I was forced out of work do to a serious medical illness, and went on federal social security disability, which makes me judgment proof while on long term SSD.

It does not matter to any collection agency about this, and they will goto great lengths to squeeze you for the last bit of pennies you have. I started fighting back now when I was screamed at by a collector that "they'll get the money when I'm DEAD! and asked when I thought that was going to be?!" Then they called my Mother at her home at an unlisted number to berate her about my condition, and about the money i owe people. All against the law, but continues to use this tactic as threats to me and my family nonstop. They called her again this time from a local number, and told her that the caller "Courtney Cash, is a old time friend of your son's and need to talk to him" Asked for a number for me... TIZZZ!!! RED FLAG!!! Against the Law to call family and friends to make collections on you!!!

Courtney Cash is a lying sack of @#$%

I suggest buying a "Advanced Caller ID with Ring Controller" from JF Tech Developing Co., in Norwich, CT.. Web site is www.JFTeck.com This nifty device is a Caller ID box as you would expect to find for around 60 to 70 dollars, and is worth every single penny! What it does is takes the caller ID that comes in and compares it to a list you enter of calls to block. Yes it really works! and all that happens is the caller only hears on their end of the call is a ringing forever up to 20 rings and then the phone company cuts you off anyway. What you hear on your end is NOTHING!!! Just Bliss!!! It shows who called, but never rings through to you. Now if the Collection Agency catches on to this they will starting calling from other exchanges like ex. 717-232-0001, 717-232-0002, 717-232-0003, 717-232-0004, and so on. The device has that covered too, and lets you Block as a WILD CARD, which means you can list all number to be blocked from the following number ex. 717-232-XXXX where the "X" mean any number from the exchange, or you can just goto the extreme, and Block as ex. 717-XXX-XXX then no more call from the area code of 717.

Don't trust URS for anything. They are bottom feeders. They use abusive language and will harass you at every turn.

Since January of 2009 they have had 26 lawsuits filed against them. Since August 2008 that number jumps up to 38 lawsuits filed against them. Most of these lawsuits are for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Then in 2004 they were fined $240,000 for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This company uses illegal tactics to collect a debt, they don't care about our rights.

My advice send a Cease and Desist letter now. And when they violate that sue them. You can get up to $1000 for every violation.

What Beware states is absolutely true about URS. In 2004 they were fined $240,000 for a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

It is that reason I won't deal with them. Citi referred my account to them two months ago and when I called URS to try and explain my situation and ask for a little time to get the money together they were absolutely rude to me. Pretty much I refuse to do business with them, if Citi won't deal with me directly then they won't get their money. I will just wait out the 7 years till it clears my credit report.

Received three hang-up phone calls from 800-658-2184. I decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and called them back three times and hung up. They answered the phone "United Recovery Systems" I googled their phone number and name. No results on the phone number, and many of the same name for diferent companies. They are bastards for intruding in and disturbing my privacy.
