2/12/2012 - Received call on cell phone from 800-568-0399 that I did not answer; they left no message. Quickly found that this is United Recovery Systems, a debt collector.
Two hours earlier I had received a phone call from 319-242-7344
; a male asked for Jeff. Since I know no Jeffs, I said no one here by that name. He said OK and hung up. Searched and found that CBE Group is also a collection company, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, that has several phone numbers sequential to the second one. No way to know for sure if connected, but likely they are looking for the same Jeff.

Someone called my cell phone 2/10/2012 and asked for Jeff. He did not mention a last name. Since I don't know any Jeffs, I said no one here by that name and he hanged up saying only "OK".
Based on the fact that CBE Group owns several adjacent sequential phone numbers, this is extremely likely to be CBE Group.
Two hours later I received a call from 800-568-0399
but I did not answer since I did not recognize the number. They hung up without leaving a message. The 800 number belongs to United Recovery Systems, also a debt collector. Since my credit score is way above average and I have no alte or missed payments, I am assuming that someone gave my phone number as a random number to whomever was asking. Anyone else had calls from these two companies? Maybe we can triangulate to figure out what they are looking for.
More calls for the freeloader...
An annoying collector looking for my deadbeat sister. Keep calling idiot. She doesn't live here, I taped the conversation where I told you this, four times already. I have a feeling you are going to owe me more than she owes you when this is over.
So KEEP IT UP!

Called at 0825 on a Saturday morning looking for someone I've never heard of! No real person to talk to, just a robo call!!
i see from ur comments these idiots r a collection agency...the problems is no one in this household is behind on any payments, therefore they r barking up the wrong tree.i am also on the no call list, they r looking at a law suit i guess, see how they like it when the tide has turned!!! JERKS...
These fucking idiots are just that !!! (Fucking idiots) They have called me for months now and still cannot collect the debt. They rely on intimidation and threats ...DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU- They are just a bunch of punks warming a chair and getting their paychecks. If you give in ,you lose...Plain and simple. P.S. Happy Holidays to all !
Don't trust URS for anything. They are bottom feeders. They use abusive language and will harass you at every turn.
Since January of 2009 they have had 26 lawsuits filed against them. Since August 2008 that number jumps up to 38 lawsuits filed against them. Most of these lawsuits are for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Then in 2004 they were fined $240,000 for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This company uses illegal tactics to collect a debt, they don't care about our rights.
My advice send a Cease and Desist letter now. And when they violate that sue them. You can get up to $1000 for every violation.
Called me today on my cell, when asking who they were he said "we're a business company and that's all I can disclose". I laughed, told him that was the dumbest answer I'd ever heard and hung up.
Called during dinner asking if someone was my neighbor. I asked if it was a PI or a collection agency, they said their works code of ethics said they couldn't answer that question, but it was about a business deal. I told them that was unfortunate as my ethics didn't let me help them. They started getting really pushing, insisting I tell them and take down their number and give it to the person (who I don't even know). I hung up. F*****s need to learn to do their own work and not harass the rest of us.
I'm getting HARASSED by this number. They call and hang up when I answer. Looks like a collection agency, but they have the wrong number. When I try to call it back, it states, "All agent are busy."
Called & asked for my son (a minor) said they were offering a business deal.
All collection agencies must follow the law under the Fair Debt Collection Practices act. If you do owe a debt, you can tell the collection agency to provide you with the proof that you owe the debt, including the contract that you signed, what charges were made and when, etc. If they can not prove the debt then they have to drop the matter. Or even better if this collection agency is saying that you owe a debt they must tell you who the original creditor was. When you have that information call the original creditor and talk to them about it and find out if the debt is even legit. If it is see if you can arrange a re-payment with them and avoid a collection agency all together.
Now if you are being harrassed by a collection agency for a debt that is not yours or they are looking for someone that does not reside at your phone number, you can send a Cease and Desist letter to the agency stating that they have the wrong number/person. Make sure that you send the letter return receipt requested with signature receipt. If you do not send it this way the agency can simple say they did not receive a letter and you have no proof that they did receive it. State in the letter that they are to stop calling immediately or you will force the issue under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
For a copy of the letter and more information go to: www.budhibbs.com
When you know the law and the collection agency knows that you know the law, they will back-off or they will follow the law and provide you with the proof that the debt is truly yours.
My 80 year old Mother in NY has been receiving calls from this number for several months. How can it be stopped?

this number calls two to three times a day, and hangs up when I pick up the phone. Noone leaves a message when machine picks up.
One of several numbers used. I now have received a letter stating that I owe money to American Express, when I do not owe any money!
This is from United Recovery Systems. They are a collection agency. They haven't typically left any messages but you will receive letters eventually.
