Uncertain as to the validity of the number or caller .... because
* Call rec'd 10/1/13 around 8:30am ... caller DID NOT identify "USAA" at beginning of call.
* Asked to speak w/my DAUGHTER ... who has NOT LIVED w/me or USED this phone number for years,
AND they used her FORMER MARRIED NAME (divorced a little over 5 years ago).
* When I told caller this, only then did she say it was "USAA Fed Savings Bank" and they would remove this
(my) number from record. (guess I'll have to see if the calls stop)
* I asked if there was any message ...caller said no. BUT caller also never bothered to ask if I had a number
(or any contact details) where they could reach my daughter.
* I don't know if my daughter has any current accounts (including cc's) w/USAA.

Got a call on the home phone from this number, lefy no message so called them back using Skype then hung up on them. Person answering said USAA, but other reports indicate this is a scammer.

It was a recorded message from USAA calling about my credit card. It says to call 800-531-0533

Received numerous calls from 800-531-0533. Twice voicemails have been left that do not identify anything about the origin company name or anything about me. Oh. I don't have any USAA credit cards or any affiliation with this place. The also leave a callback number of 800-292-8811 between the hours of 7am-9pm Mon-Thur, 7am-1pm Fri/Sat CST. Though 800-531-0533 seems to be traced back to USAA, I do not find any listing under the site for the 'callback' number.

This is a legitimite USAA phone number. They called me 9 times in 1 day and never left a message. I figured it was probably a collector because of how often they were calling and the fact that they were calling my cell so I reviewed all my bills and realized that I forgot to pay my USAA credit card. The day I made the payment the calls stopped coming.

If that's not enough proof, go to and enter the phone number in the search bar on the top right side of the screen. "Financial Help" comes up and when you click on it, it takes you to the credit card hardship information screen and it lists this number to call for help with your credit card payment.

It's not a scam. It's USAA calling to say I'm late with a payment. At the end of the day, after calling a zillion times, they will leave a message saying something like, "please call USAA. Your credit card account has changed status," meaning late.

Never leave a message.

They call quite frequently. Like up to 8 or 10 times a day. USAA is very persistent if your behind/late on a payment.

Brand new Verizon Cell and in less than one month I have already recieved more daily calls than ever from the "Unknowns". 877 553 3114; 406-545-3300; 212-920-8260 800-749-6434; 732-983-4740; 801-487-9899; 800-531-0533, 910-338-0672; 866-471-5508. I thought my landline was getting too many of these idiots who don't identify themselves. but this is ridiculous!

Legit USAA call.

These are criminals trying to get you to divulge your usaa member number, social security number, and other personal info. Sometimes they masquerade as USAA, othertimes as Citibank or another financial institution. These people need to be behind bars, the sooner the better. This is NOT USAA!

legit call from USAA
 Nov 13th, 2009
I can confirm that this was a legitimate call from USAA. There had been a problem with my automatic payment on my credit card account, and they wanted to inform me so I could bring my account current.

It is annoying how often they called, and the many times my girlfriend answered the phone they wouldn't identify themselves. When I mentioned that many people thought this was a scam call, they said they sometime ask for an account password if someone calls THEM to confirm access to the account.

Relax, this # is legitimately from USAA.

After many calls at all hours, which I ignored, they finally left a voice message claiming to be USAA Federal Savings Bank calling regarding our credit card account.

We have no relationship of any kind with this bank!
