Tried calling the Verizon Unlawful Call Center 1-800-518-5507. They referred me to National Do Not Call Registry 1-888-382-1222. Filed a complaint with them and referred to this webpage for additional information. Hopefully filing a formal complaint will get us somewhere! The daily calls from this company are getting old!

Was called at 0900 Easter Morning, as well as twice a day for the last three weeks. Actually spoke with someone yesterday, he said he wanted to thank me for our donation to the Fire Fighters Fund. I complained about it being a religous holiday and he said "Fine then" and hung up. Every time I call back the number is disconnected. I tried calling the Verizon Unlawful Call center # at 1-800-518-5507 and was directed to try and call the FTC at 1-877-382-4357.

They been calling me for 8 years since I got this new ph number. They ask for a woman who I do not know. I told them to look up my ph number and they would see that it is under my name...they said they didn't have a computer or internet to look it up! gee golly, how you runing that business without computers! paper pencils and phones?

Originally they said they were trying to collect debt on the woman, one time they went from trying to collect debt on for mentioned woman and then tried to sell me a second mortgage! I have asked them each time to take my number/me off their list as I consider this harassment and I am on the "do not call list" (donotcall.gov)

I just called my phone co, they told me to press *57 after hanging up with them, after 3 calls from them and pressing *57 each time,

I should then go to the local police and open a case number,

Then I am to call the "unlawfull call center" at 1-800-518-5507

This number (973-360-2026)has been attributed to Kushner Companies. This number DOES NOT BELONG to this company.It has not belonged to them since August of 2002. The annoyance calls that have been made from this number have been made from something called a "PREDICTIVE DIALER" and is currently being investigated by Verizon. If you receive calls from this number please contact the New Jersey Business Unlawful Call Center at 800-518-5507. Please cooperate with this investigation and bring whomever is responsible for these annoying calls to justice.

I keep getting calls from this number on both of my lines and it is getting on my nerves. I call the number back and its busy, but I have been able to get through and it just rings, rings, rings, non stop. Nobody picks up.

These calls come from Coronado California. It is a Verizon phone #. The Coronado police department # is 619-522-7390 fax: 619-435-1329. They will not take a complaint unless you are from their town. They ask you to call your local police who will take the complaint and forward it to them. It is the only way we will get these people stopped.
Once you have a police Complaint #, call Verizon abuse depart 800-518-5507. They will pay attention if you have a police Complaint #. Good luck

How to use Call Trace (from Verizon's website)


Use Call Trace immediately after a call. It will trace the last call you received.

After receiving a call you want to trace, hang up the receiver to end the call.

Pick up the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
You must trace the call before another call is received.

Press (rotary phones dial 1-1-5-7) and follow the voice-recorded instructions.

Stay on the line and listen for a recording that tells you if Call Trace was activated and if the call was successfully traced.

Once you have successfully traced the required number of calls (differs by area), contact your local law enforcement agency and obtain a complaint number.
Note: You must repeat these steps each time you want to trace a call.

Taking further action by establishing a case

Some states require you to trace two or more calls in order to establish a case.

If you want to establish a case, call the Verizon Unlawful Call Center at 800-518-5507 (TTY: 800-254-5959), Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. with your complaint number to open a case.


If you want to hear a recorded message about how to use Call Trace, call 877-TRACE4U 877-872-2348) at any time.

Verizon will store Call Trace information for 90 days. You will be notified within 30 days if there is enough Call Trace information to be sent to a law enforcement agency. The action taken by law enforcement may vary by area. The records of all traced calls will be released to a law enforcement agency only.

it's a place called Cheap Travel.com - another said:
their phone service is through Verizon. I called Verizon, they were helpful. They said call my local police dept ,make a formal report and get a report number. Then call Verizon back at 1 800-518-5507 (UNLAWFUL CALL CENTER). My police dept said they would look into it so I am doing that first. Everyone who has a problem should report these people so they will know they cannot get away with these tactics.

I followed "another number" and "CJ" advice about Verizon and Alltel. Well Verizon answers and tells me that they can't even help me unless I'm a Verizon customer. He transferred me to the Unlawful Call Center 800-518-5507. They said that these calls are not agains the law and will not be investigate. However, when I filed my complaint to the FCC they said that it would be investigated, and if it persists, and they can prove my case, the company calling will be cited and fined. Enough fines, they should back off. I did also take the advice of "bnrmiller" as well. And when I finally got them to give me the recorded message again, I listened to the entire message and pressed 9 to be removed. It said I'd be removed, but we'll see. By the way, I sent an email to Alltel, I haven't gotten a message yet.

Verizon refers callers to their unlawful call center, either 800/518-5507 or 800/257-2969 only to say that though the call comes from a Verizon customer Verizon can't do anything. They suggest calling your state's attorney general. Verizon representatives seemed to be annoyed at having to be bothered, they were rude and generally not only unhelpful but annoyingly so.

JUST TALKED TO VERIZON'S ILLEGAL CALL DEPT.AND WAS TOLD TO USE *57 RIGHT AFTER I HANG UP FROM THIS CALL. THIS IS FOR CALL TRACE. HAVE TO CALL TRACE 2 OR 3 TIMES AT $1.00 PER TRACE THEN CONTACT MY LOCAL POLICE AND FILE A REPORT.
AFTER CONTACTING POLICE AND GETTING A COMPLAINT NUMBER, OFFICER'S NAME AND MAILING ADDRESS OF THE POLICE DEPT. I AM TO CALL THEM BACK AT 1-800-518-5507 WITH THIS INFO AND THEY WILL PROSECUTE THE COMPANY.
