This exact number for Chase Auto Finance calls the business I work for multiple times a day. (I'm talking like 10-15 times a day!) Anyway, the phone usually rings twice at the most; even when I pick up the call there is literally no one there (it's not a recording or anything, just silence). I think this is a "bot" calling. I'm not sure who to contact at Chase Auto Finance to make these stop...
So, I have my own game I play with Chase. I answer the call, mute them and walk away.
I think they really, really do not like me very much now.
They keep calling and calling...it is very easy for me to ignore them as they sit there trying to yell and make noises to get my attention.
And - you also can answer, mute it and put them on hold.
I'm not the one getting paid to dial for $$. If they want to waste their time phoning me, I'll help them waste more of it.
They've been calling multiple times a day for months. Last week I finally got fed up enough to answer. A recording asked me to press 1 if I was X or Y Johnson, 2 if X or Y Johnson were not available or 3 if they were calling a wrong number. I pressed 3, was transferred to a hold line and spent about 5 minutes listening to crappy hold music interspersed with "Thank you for holding!" messages. Finally had to hang up.
I, like others, have never had an account with Chase. So frustrating.
We do not have anything to do with Chase and do not have a loan through them. They call several times a day without leaving a message. We never answer Private or unknown calls.
they call and never leave a message, seams to me if they wanted something they would at least own up to the company which thay are calling from, acts like a low rate debt collector ,,, scum bags
Dont understand why a company this large, is hiding the caller ID.
Donald, your advice is mostly correct for most people dealing with third party collectors, but not if Chase is the original creditor. California uniquely has the Rosenthal Act, which I believe applies a clone of the FDCPA to all collectors. The rest of the nation (outside Texas and Wisconsin to a degree) is not so lucky.
Under Federal law a cease-comm does NOT prompt a collector to prove claim. That's a validation request you mean, which can contain a request to limit communication. A cease-comm is not a good move if the agency has a chance of proving its claim, for the only remaining options are to drop the matter or sue the consumer.

Start taking names and employee ID Numbers,They have them trust me. Log the calls and save the caller ID's and recordings on answering machines if necessary. If they get rude document it and if your answer is not good enough ask for a manager. Prepare a small claims court filing against them and copy them in writing of your intentions if they persist in being rude. The paperwork is simple or just search out legal helpers on line out of CA, They are great at beating up collection departments. One more thing don't forget the cease and desist letter sent certified mail to the collector which will and should act as a demand for proof of debt and cease all action from the collector until they respond properly and professionally. If they contact you more than 1 time after receiving it you can really nail them to a wall. Look it all up under Fair Credit collections act.
They call every day, at exactly 8:01. Then call 10 more times throughout the day - and no one is home. I know I am late, but geez.
They call me several times a day every time I'm late by even just one day. And I'm not really late since its a grace period anyway so why are you bugging me? You will get your money but there is no way you will get me as a customer ever again.
also shows up as 800 Service
chase auto calling me 10 times a day. i am late a payment and already set up plan with my personnal loan guy hans. Everytime i tell them its taken care of they get very, very rude. Don't the loan officers let them know that its taken care of? Geez first time in 3 or more years of having loan through them that I have fallen on hard times. And it will be paid with next due date...
I am late one day on the car payment and they call like crazy
keeps calling forever!
10 calls in one day! Jesus Christ.
I have been receiving calls from this number once or twice a day for weeks. No one is there if I'm home to answer. They leave a dead air message on the answering machine if it picks up.
Calls exactly at 8am every day and they call throughout the day. Nobody in the family knows who they are or has done business with them. It's very annoying to say the least.
Called at 8:00 a.m. sharp and again at 11:04. I didn't have my cell with me. I hope it's not Chase Auto Finance, they have my number belonging to someone else and they were supposed to fix the problem.
This number has tried to call me 6 times in the last 24 hours. I do not pick up calls form people or companies I don't already know, and they don't leave a message.
This number called at 8AM sharp. Caller ID has Unknown Name. I called the number and I get the message that it cannot be reached from my calling area.
