I don't have caller ID, so I can't report them - and is this just one of many similar numbers. I'm getting about 1 call a week and it is very annoying. After hitting 1 to schedule a cleaning they hang up when I ask to be removed from the list. So I've decided to start messing with them. The next call I get I'm going to schedule a big cleaning - except the address will be bogus. IF THEY WON'T PLAY BY THE RULES, BURN 'EM!

Company Names They Use: AAA Carpet Care, Allison Carpet Care, Best Carpet Cleaners, Best Carpet Care, On-Time Carpet Cleaning, Pro-Carpet Cleaning and Infinity Carpet Care.

How They Operate: They are probably a carpet-cleaning referral service and they earn commissions by finding clients and then referring a local carpet cleaner to their home. Likely, they have a VOIP service which allows them to spoof a number different from their own so the number that pops up on your caller-ID is not really their number and it’s useless to call back that number.

Current Phone Numbers: 888-279-6049, 888-279-6050, 888-279-6051, 888-279-6052, 888-279-6053, 888-279-6054, 888-279-6055, 888-279-6056, 888-279-6057, 888-279-6058, and 888-279-6059

Old Phone Numbers: 800-376-1983

Spoof Phone Numbers: 213-221-1021, 310-388-8021, 310-421-9121, 562-433-3521, 650-898-0321 (There are probably more, but this is all I could find)

Possible Addresses (These may be fake like the spoof phone numbers): 14709 Vanowen
Van Nuys, CA 91405; 6803 Cedros Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91405; 1400 Huntington Drive South Pasadena, CA 91030; There are numerous more based on web searches of their 888 numbers.

Call them at their local number: *67 (this blocks your own number from being recognized by caller id for this one call only) 213-622-3404 (previous number has been changed - see above message). You will likely get "Wendy" who also answers the 800 number. When you ask Wendy for the local Name and Phone number and Supervisor you get bogus info. And, keep reporting to: www.donotcall.gov

Got 2nd call in 2 months. I asked "Wendy" to give me their local number then to put supervisor on phone. I was disconnected and the local number was bogus. I called 800 376-1983 that I saved from a previous recorded message 2 months ago and guess who answered?... "Wendy". She gave me the same bogus local number when I asked for it again and told me the supervisor (David Rozco) was at lunch (at 4:45PM). Google search shows the number to belong to "On-Time Carpet Cleaning" in Van Nuys, CA. These blatant violators and liars deserve to be cited and fined.

I am on the FTC 'do not call list' and I just got a call from this company. I called the 800 number back and the representative had the audacity to say "There is no FTC" and called me a "tattle tale" when I said I was reporting them. I called back at least 10 times before I got a barely-English speaking man who claimed to be the manager, who REFUSED to take my name off their list. I am reporting them to the FTC and the BBB, and anyone else I can find. Jerks!

Every time you call a toll-free number, they get a record of your phone number and the name on your ophone bill, regardless of any privacy measures you can take, so I never call back unknown toll-free numbers.

I got a prerecorded call from Allison. I pressed a key to identify the company. Xfered to Mark. Steam cleaning a room would be $42 for the first, $22 each additional. Claimed to be Carpet Care A+. I asked for a telephone number and got 800-376-1983. Mark said he was aware that prerecorded calls were illegal, but all he would do is take me off the list. He would not let me record the call. He hung up when I asked his address.

Got a recorded message saying they had a special on carpet cleaning - push 1 to schedule an appt; press 8 to be removed from the list. Of course I pressed 1 to see who had the cahones to be calling after so many years of the DNC list being in place. The girl was sweet until I told her I wanted to know who they were and I wasn't going to supply my phone number to her.
