Claimed to be business office of my local hospital... asked for personal info. I said no and called the actual business office of the hospital. I didn't owe money and they are not affiliated.

Recording for Cypress Fairbanks Med Centers' Billing department. Apparently someone whom I cant pronounce the name, gave MY CELL NUMBER when they were in the emergency room as THEIR CONTACT NUMBER. And the hospital's billing department was calling for THEM to pay a bill. After multiple times of this unlisted number calling me, leaving a message for whomever gave my number, I got sick of it and called back-They SAID that they will remove my number and I won't be called anymore. I explained ive had this number for eight years, so obviously that person knowingly gave the wrong number... Ugh!! So apparently after scrolling through this thread, it is a universal number for hospital billing, etc. Because ive never heard of the hospital's listed below, nor are some in my state. Hope this helps...

I just received a call from this number. I didn't answer, they left a 2 minute voicemail with complete silence.

I myself have had the experience from this "hrrg" with a rude Mr.kemet demanding my card number. My best advice is to get callers name, ask for their Supervisor and file a complaint.(keep in mind the call may have been recorded which can be in your favor!). DO NOT GIVE YOUR CARD NUMBER OVER THE PHONE!Nor any PERSONAL INFORMATION (DOB, SS#)!The hospital should already have the correct info. Get your documents, call the customer service number listed for hospital which rendered your service,(For example: Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta,800-346-0775, M-F), and discuss with them. OTHERWISE you can file a legitmate complaint thru your local Better Business Bureau, or if you feel there is a strong injustice on your behalf contact you local media(TV or Newspaper) and have it publicised thru there investigative reporters. I called this number back and was connected to a really nice CSR. They were calling in regards to a trip to the emergency room. I hadn't received any bills and thought my insurance had covered the costs but they actually had my address wrong. We corrected it in her system and she advised me the bill amount was not in collections and they would re-send a bill. There was no pressure, no attitude. I suggest calling back this number if they call you. This is not collections. Just a hospital billing department. They worked out a payment plan.
