Received a call saying my ATT account was suspended and as soon as it asked for the last 4 digits of my social, I hung up and called ATT to verify that it is indeed a scam!
Called at 3:05pm. Said Att account suspended, hung up before giving info. Sounded like a scam.
Call received today at 11:05 am. Caller Id showed Customer Care as if I saved this number. Did a Google search and found that it is an Att customer care number. No message left and I have not called Att (my cell provider) for any reason.
Voicemail left stating my AT&T wireless account will be suspended for verification to reactivate contact them.Scam.
I got a call saying they were AT&T and my account was temporarily suspended. press 1 to re-activate or 2 to speak to a representative, I pressed 2, and first thing the robo voice asked for was the last 4 digits of my Social. NO WAY, hung up!! must be a huge scam!
Got a call telling me my Verizon account was suspended. (My credit card # was stolen 2 weeks ago and used at a Verizon store...so I thought related.) The recorded voice asked for my pin and last 4 of social. I gave fake numbers; voice said they would call me back in 35" due to volume. I called the number back myself: AT&T. SCAM SCAM SCAM
Got a call at 2:30 AM. Did not answer and because it was an 800 number calling at that hour I blocked it. They left no voicemail.
I received a call at 1am. Left a voicemail that my Verizon account has been suspended. I haven't had Verizon for almost 2 years, so how is that possible? I'm not calling back, but blocking
These people are scammers. Said they were from AT&T calling about my account that was suspended pending verification from me. First, if my account was suspended, how was I able to call? When I connected with a "Representative" the first question I asked was where the AT&T headquarters was located. That's when she got unpleasant with me stating no information would be given to me until I provided my number and account number. At that point, enough was enough and I hung up. BLOCK THIS NUMBER.
Called stating they were AT&T and I was getting a $49 rebate on my phone bill. Then asked for my pin. I told them the kiss my pin.
Claimed to be from Verizon Wireless and said my account was suspended and I would need to reactivate the account using the automated system. It said press one to reactivate or 2 to speak to a rep. I press 2 both times and it disappeared.
They called at 11:00 PM. I think that eliminates any legitimate company or person. I blocked it
dont answer its a scam and never give them any real info not even your real name
Who is this number?
California Nov 02nd, 2017
Not sure why but my phone identified them as "Legacy Mobility". Not sure if that's helpful but I'm glad I didn't answer it. Lol
Received a V-Mail Message that was an Automated Call asking me to select which option, I would like. I called back. Woman who answered said she worked for AT&T, but they only send text messages, she could not provide any information about the call. Advised I would end call and report the incident.
I also got a call claiming to be Verizon and my acct had been suspended. I knew that to be false. I hung up and contacted Verizon directly. Do not share any information with them.

They say they’re AT&T but they definitely aren’t. I blocked this number
They call multiple times everyday. It's the AT&T number, but it's not AT&T. Do what I did and block them
It's a fake. AS the caller was talking I heard a baby crying in the background. I TOLD THEM DON'T EVER CALL ME AGAIN.

No ATT said dont give them any info. It could be an ex employee.
Its ATT, but I really wish people would work on their English.
Said that my phone was being accessed by someone in Dallas. They asked me if I recognized the name and I told them NO and then he asked for my PIN; I got nervous because the person calling was from India and it sounded rather loud and unprofessional to be an AT&T center; Googled the number 800-331-0500 and read it was a scam... BLOCK THE NUMBER!!
Called after 8pm with a robo message from ATT stating that my phone wouldn't work and that I must go to an ATT store to upgrade my phone to LG 3 and or 4. Not sure if this message was a scam or legit.

Some dude with an spanish accent called promising a 20 dollars gift card after a 3 question survey for ATT. I immediately replied that it was very extrange for him to call me since I had never done business with ATT. He hung up.
Be aware of scam! Never ever give your credit card information through the phone.

Received call from 932-618-1585. There was no answer except for a 'beep' then automated voice said "goodbye" and disconnected. Called number back and incoming calls were not accepted. Message said to call 800-331-0500
, which I called and it turned out to be AT&T customer service. I spoke with Mark and he advised no AT&T calls to me had been made and there were no issues with my account. He researched number and determined it was from a number registered to Reliance Communications, Ltd. which I researched further and found same info indicating it was a mobile number with some search results turning up info about India. Bottom line: it's a scam and don't speak with them should a live person reach you.
AT&T Billing Department
Call is legit
Had a charge from Feb ,2014 on my credit card for "telephone services". I called credit card company to dispute. Looks like they are moving from mobile phones to hacking credit cards now.
I did not answer. Cell phone caller ID said it was from NJ,USA. They did not leave a message.
When I called the number back, the automated voice said, "You are not authorized to call that number from this phone. Call 611 for customer service or call 1-800-331-0500
from a land line phone.
received called from this number... weird
belongs to AT&T supervisor following up on previous interaction to conduct business
This is AT&T customer service for their GoPhone service at least and possibly for other services/plans they offer. I know this because I have a GoPhone account.

This is a scam. Report to AT&T customer care immediately if you gave scammers any of your personal information.

Identical experience to that described by Iggy 8/17/13
Called number and it was AT&T but woman advised I go to the web site and verify the number that really called me was 800-331-0500. I didn't give her any personal info including my phone number and only told her the guy had a few numbers mixed up - didn't spell it out. She was nice but I'm going to take her suggestion and go check my call record and see what is shows as the number that called me.

This person called my cell phone twice in a row, first time asking for Consuela. I told him he had wrong number, hung up and phone rang again. He gave me the number he was trying to reach which had the last two digits reversed. He apologized profusely but has me curious the purpose of the call - we've had this cell number 12 years.

Anyone else get this call after downloading an app? I rarely download from the AppStore but yesterday downloaded candy crush saga and a solitaire app then got a call from this number. I know apps can spam your phone so I'm thinking that's the way they get your number.
Called my son's phone saying his payment didn't go through and asked for updated information. He is NOT the responsible party in this matter. I am thinking that someone/something is able to call your phone from the ATT phone number to make you think it's them (although if I don't have it stored as a contact how would I even know -- it's an 800 number, afterall).
Bottom line is, I called the number back, it rings as ATT has the little tone and everything. I put in my real number it asked me for my password. I hung up. I also called back and spoke to a person this time. She asked for my password too. Sounded very legit. Could really be ATT number.. don't know. But I DO KNOW that my bill is paid up in full as usual, every month.
Something smells PHISHY.
This is an authentic ATT customer service number BUT it is not ATT. They have used an app that cloaks their real number with an ATT number in order to conduct a bogus ATT survey. I was promised a short 1-2 minute survey for a $20 credit. After the survey they got my name and zip code, then asked for the last four digits of my Social Security number for "verification" purposes. I asked why they would need that--they already have our account info. More gobbledygook explanations from the "surveyor." I said no thanks at that point.
Caller had a pronounced Latino accent.
When I called ATT to report this they verified this is their number but it is an incoming customer service number--they never use it for anything like surveys (which are all automated anyway). They are aware of this scam. Others have given up personal info and had their cell phone accounts hacked and hundreds of dollars of charges made. Scary stuff.
I had exact same situation as Nicole. Some Foreigner i Could barely understand asking to do an att survey for $20. $20 no way. too much. Sounded like a scam for information. I would bet its a scammer.
SCAM!! Some foreigner pretending to do a survey in order to receive a credit on my account. I could barely understand him and he hung up on me when I would not disclose my personal information.
Survey RE: ATT cellular service. Enticement: $30 discount off next wireless bill.

Claims to be ATT but I am not a subscriber. Suspected a scam.. so there you have it.
Have received this call before and called AT&T but they say its a scam and not their company
I received a call on a Saturday afternoon from this number. Many say it is AT & T but I do not have an AT&T account, so?
Not attcustomer Jun 15th, 2013
I don't have AT&T, but I received a call (no message) from them.
Appears to be a fraudulent spoofing of an AT&T customer support number. Beware. Don't answer any personal or financial questions.
Virtuality Mar 18th, 2013
Same thing happening to me. I answered and an Indian answered and blurted out a survey telling me if I answered 3 questions I could take money off of my next cell bill. He then asked 3 random questions about customer satisfaction and then for the 'money off' part...he told me I needed to tell him the answer of my 'last name' for 'security purposes'. I told him he called me...HE can tell me my last name because I wasnt buying that he was from AT&T. He guessed the wrong name and then when I told him he made some excuse about his supervisor making a mistake on his list and HUNG UP ON ME! LOL
It must be some sort of SCAM...but AT&T needs to get on this! Ive only been a customer with them for about 2 weeks! I never had calls like this from Verizon when I was with them; but actually they were ripping me off daily....so why would they need scammers?
ATT customer Feb 25th, 2013
AT&T DOING SURVEY JUST TALK TO THEM SAY WE DONT DO SURVEY
I had some issues with my internet on my phone so we were trying to fix it.
Here's what to do when you get the call.
Just hang up.
Then call ATT at 800-331-0500
during regular business hours and when prompted to enter your wireless phone number enter 817-688-7853 (assuming this is the cell number that called you). Speak to a customer representative and let them know that the owner of this cell phone account is using their services fraudulently, I believe phishing is illegal, and you just wanted to let them know.
PLEASE, do not abuse the customer service help, thank you. They are just like you and I, so be kind.
If you can't wait, you can contact ATT at their 24/7 technical support call center. Use the same 817 cell phone number when prompted and speak to their customer service.
Repeat, BE KIND! If you're steamed, vent appropriately. The pathetic excuse behind this is not the same person on the phone with you - unless you're a better sleuth than I am.
This effort is simply to EMPOWER you if you wish to take appropriate action, in this case being a bit-o-thorn in the call logs of ATT (in Fort Worth Texas) so they hurry and close this pathetic
I work for an at&t call center, and that is our number.
AT&T representative calling to find out why I had not yet activated my new phone/service from them.
Wile troubleshooting cell phone, (800) 331-0500 called my Gizmo at home so we could work on and reboot etc. my cellular phone. It's all good.
It is AT&T / Cingular wireless business center.
