I have an unlisted number - owe no money and this appears to be a phishing scam from icor to con money out of unsuspecting individuals - keep ignoring them - when I tried to find out more about the company - they identified themselves as a Government Agency - which is a BIG FAT LIE. They are not connected in any way to the Canadian government.
Get their fax number and fax a request to stop calling. Legally collection agencies have to hault calls after this point and can only postal mail you from then on.

I forgot to say that I was told that my cell number was taken "off the list" so I expected no more calls. That same day I got a call at 6:30 am and I told the guy, who I might add could not speak very good english, that I was told that this number was taken off the list, he had no clue as to what I was talking about. So I had to call and have my number changed...no more calls. I didn't know who they were until I looked up the company name. I am wondering if it is a legitimate company. Made me very suspicous and I had no financial dealings with them. I am sorry for those who have to deal with them.
They called me three times a day, on my new cell phone. I told them that the person they were looking for no longer is at this number. I had to call the phone company to have my number changed. I was told the cell number I had belongd to another lady who they were looking for. Even after I explained to them that I had just got this number they still called three or more times a day. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with them for any reason.
I have been getting these same phone calls and as many of you stated.....they are not for me. These people even had the nerve to say,"well get him and get him to call us or we will keep calling." If they call one more time I will take legal matters. They call from early morning to night but unlike most of you, they do not leave any messages I just have them on my caller ID. Today, I was home and received a total of 11 calls and it is not even 5pm yet. I am soooo pissed off and will get this to stop one way or another.

I received a call from this company the first time on a Sunday night around 9:00 PM. At first I didn't recognize the address they were speaking about with respect to Hydro Ottawa but told the person I was speaking to that I would contact Hydro Ottawa and get back to him with three to four days. I received the second call the following evening and when I explained what I had said the previous evening, the women on the phone verified the notation but was calling because they hadn't heard back from me. I explained that I now recognized the address but wanted to contact Ottawa Hydro before paying because the service to date was four months after I had moved from the residence and had hydro in my name at the new residence. She asked me why I had not responded to their letters from 2007 and after she verified the mailing address, I explained that it was wrong and she told me that was not her problem. She because very ignorant and yes I became angry and demanded to speak to a supervisor. She refused and we got into a screaming match when i demanded a supervisor and she hung up on me. I called back three times that night and was told I could not speak to a supervisor and was hung up on each time. I didn't hear from them again until two weeks ago when a woman called me again and I asked her to send me a letter so I could verify the billing and settle the account and she agreed to. On March 12, 2010 I received yet another call from a man and he verified that she had never put in the request for the letter but he would put in the request. He then informed me the file needed to be settled by today. I explained that it obviously not be settled by today but as soon as I received it I would send a cheque for the amount and then continue with my negotiations with Hydro Ottawa. I received a call from this person again today and told him I had not received the letter yet he then told me that it needed to be settled today and I again told him as soon as I received the letter I would send the cheque. First he agreed to it and then began to demand that I go to the bank and pay it directly. When I refused to do that and asked to speak to a manager he became very aggressive and repeated telling me he would not let me speak to a manager and why. I told him that he didn't have very good customer service skills and at that point he told this wasn't a customer service line this was a line to collect moneys owed by people like me. Finally he transferred me to a person who claimed to be a manager and I explained the whole story to him and also that the account was in my maiden name and that I would appreciate it if they would call me by my married name.. He immediately began to repeatedly refer to me as the debtor which I found to be very insulting, and addressed me by my maiden name. When I said that wasn't my name anymore and please address me by my proper name, he said that was the name that was on his file and that was what he would call me because I was a DEBTOR. I began to ask for his name and operator number repeatedly and he began to repeatedly accused me of refusing to settle the account and hiding from them. When I denied this he asked when it would be paid and how. Every time I tried to explain that I could not give him a date since I didn't have the letter yet, he would say "Do you want me to put in the notes that you are refusing to pay?". I would say no and he would again demand a date and method of payment. I became so upset I asked my husband to take the call and he told him that if he continued to use that tone with me, not only would he not cut the cheque but he would have our lawyer investigate them. He then passed the phone to me at which time the person became aggressive again. I again asked for his operator name and number which he said very quickly and then told me he had already given to me. I told him he hadn't and he said he had and the reason I didn't hear him was because I didn't have very good listening skills. I was fed up by then and told him that as soon as I received there letter I would settle the account by mail and then promptly hung up the phone.
I have received many phone calls from this number and it always goes to the answering machine, saying it is very inportant that you give us a call at icore Canada. I never call them back I am glad that I never do. I am glad that I got the notion of checking the internet and the phone number, and foundall of teh information on not returning the calls.

I used a airhorn every time they called and after about 10x they stopped calling
These guys called me last week saying I need to pay my bill.
I havent had a letter sent once from them.
They have no idea about your record history. I have already made a payment of $500 to them! What a scam.
My number is unlisted and they still call!
The City sent my info to this collection agency by mistake and now they call 3-6 times a day despite the fact that I took care of the ticekt with the City. Today I call back before reading all of this and he asks me to fax my copy of payment, but the number he gives me (and which is also on their letterhead) is Rogers credit something or other. A bogus fax number? really.
Don't worry guys, I have reported this number to the RCMP. Royal Canadian Mounted Police Crime Branch, they can deal wid these bastards

Icore Canada keeps calling about a rogers bill. I called rogers about this bill. Rogers claims there is no record of a unpaid bill and advised me not to pay Icore Canada
and also told me to have them call rogers. I called Icore Canada back and told them to contact rogers. When I talked to rogers 3 weeks later no one from Icore Canada had contacted them. At that point I had Rogers send me E-mail stating that I have no unpaid bills with rogers but ICore Canada keeps calling.
They've been calling me...so i googled "fdcpa" - this will tell you your rights when it comes to collection agencies. I immediately found that ICOR had violated 2 of them in the first phone call. I left a message at the number they provided and told them this...i have not heard from them since.
i want to know how this company got my new unlisted number i pay for my number to be unlisted so dont i deserve that privacy i am sick and tired of these calls i also get calls from this credit card company also my childrens phone line gets the same we do not own a credit card i informed the company on a few occassions but still have not stopped calling what can i do
It is ICOR CANADA. If you owe money then you owe money. Pay it off!! It doesn't go away til you pay. Mine is for a University Bill I still owe. I will just have to payit I guess.

at 8 i get a phone call. thinking it's something urgent, i pick up to hear the same voice ive been hearing since i got my first cell phone.

All have appeared on my cid in the last year.Normally, I do not answer long distance numbers like this, but one day this winter my DUMB fiancee answered it and they claimed that I owed them a cell bill from Rogers Wireless, which was cancelled more than 5 years ago after a service and billing dispute, which i thought had been cleared up since.The "lady" was quite rude and started to rant at him on the phone,demanding me. When I took the phone, I just listened for a min and heard her continue to rant.It made me sooo mad!! I told her to F#@% off, and to not call here anymore,I do not owe!Since then, they call me EVERY DAY, SEVERAL times a day from these different numbers, never the same one twice in a row.From what I have read they are considered scam artists because people who have never had the service, or, like me, do not owe on a previous service, are also being targeted.The numbers seem to all go through an Ottawa relay # 613-567-3100
.They have a history of changing their company name,thus collecting the aforementioned phone numbers, but it is all the same company.They also try to tell people that they are a risk management company, and claimed a couple other company titles as well..IT IS A LIE!!They apparently also seem to be violating several laws regarding debt collection.If you are forced to talk to them for any reason, tell them you are setting up a call trace through your phone company.Request that they do not call you back,but, if they do, then you are going to record your conversations.Try to get a name each time they call, then tell them to send a letter requesting the collection to the address they have listed.. DO NOT GIVE THEM AN ADDRESS IF THEY ASK!!If they argue, say that if they really do have a bill, then they have the info already!!Calling on Sundays is also illegal.Whatever you do, DO NOT VOLUNTEER ANY INFO WHATSOEVER!! I cannot emphasise this enough!Then go through with your threats.It may cost a few bucks, but if they are a shady company, they need to be shut down!Trust me, the harassment will not stop by ignoring them!They do not abide by the collection laws!They also seem to enjoy harassing people.No joke.They will threaten you.They will be abusive and rude.They are persistent.They do not care that it is 7 am and you have small kids, are very ill, that the person does not live in your household,or is dead,or that you do not owe.The only way to get rid of them is to follow the steps above..do not be afraid to threaten them, they are menacing and threatening and harassing YOU! P.S.- I have also called Rogers to complain.They said they would get back to me,and follow-up calls to them have not produced tangible results as of yet..it has been over a month since I started THAT phone chase, so, while I advise you to call,and you may get different results, depending on your situation,it may not stop them either.

1-800-281-9643: An employee by the name of Tom Damata called for someone of the house hold. Even yelled that I did not get out of bed to get paper to write down a message....at 0815 am!. Who calls this early? Oh yea, some wise guy. What is that ole say'en.....wise guys oways get pinched.
I told him he calls back everyday at this time as he said he would, I'd get his info and hook up on connects and arrange a meet with him 1 on 1, just for a talk.

I have been getting the same calls and I have reported them to the fraudbusters.com where they will look into it and they said that they are trying to sell your information so it is all a scam do not even pick up the phone if you have caller I D right down all #s and call your local authorities and they will direct you to the proper agenvies to help stop them....good luck everyone there real a-holes be patient I know its annoying and I'm still dealing with the calls myself........GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
I called them back after I was totally fed up with all the evasive messages they would leave. Someone that hardly spoke a word of english picked up on the first ring began to ask me when my birthday was, what my postal code was..etc. I stated that I simply wanted to know why they were calling and I was not going to answer that! I finally got some info about a supposed amount that I owe to VI Fitness for a tanning package that they went and automatically renewed even after I contacted them to advise them that I was moving from that city! They continued withdrawing a monthly fee until I changed my banking info. Now they expect me to pay for a service that I was not even using and they are using these half wits at ICOR to try and collect it.

I got a message saying "It is urgent that you call us back at this number..." and got put on hold. Why would they call about an "urgent" topic while knowing that the issue is years old; and, if they are going to call you about a supposed bill, why are they so evasive about who they are calling for and what it is regarding?
Same problem with me. I got a ticket and simply refuse to pay. Was in a drop off zone at a hospital. As my handicap wife walks slowly took some time to get back to car. Then parked in pay parking and after paying came out and parked again in drop off zone to get my wife out of hospital. Did this for a week as she was getting treatment. One time got a ticket. Offense was other, whatever that was. Anyway after a letter they gave the ticket to ICORE to collect. I have told various people calling that I will not pay and to put that in their computer and leave me alone. Last guy said they would bug me anyway. Lost my cool and used the F word on him. Anyway when I recognize number (call display) I answer and immediately hang up. If it is an unknown I do the same thing.. Do not blame callers as they are kids working for minimum wage in a call center and probably get a percentage of what they collect. Given all the threats, report you to credit bureau, tow your car if found in one of their lots again, impound your dog etc. etc. In addition a lot of people for whatever fall behind in their bills and the merchant as a last resort sells, yes sells the bill to a credit agency. Any way in addition to my treatment of my issue, suggest to all that the only way to hide from them, (I don't think they would send 'heavys' to your door,)is to change your telephone number. Which will not work as they will bribe someone in the phone co. to get it, so you have to pay the bucks and put your phone in another name (maiden, brother, aunt etc. if they will agree. They call themselves a collection agency, I called back one time and got a person, he told me I have a parking ticket some where in Vancouver BC in 2003. I don't know about any ticket, but if i did get one, 6 years later is a bit late to notify me. The daily harassment is making me very angry.
I don't want to pay for a ticket that I don't think I ever received, especially from a company that may not be legit. Any body have any suggestions

I was so glad to find something on this company in here. I am SICK of them calling for 4 months now every day for several months.
I'm in Canada and registered for Do Not Call List. So, I expect no calls from the company I have not business with. I already filled a compaint with Do Not Call List registry. Guys, please do the same, the more people complain, the better chance someone will take a serious look at this.

Some time in the spring, I suddenly started to get calls from different numbers...all of the recordings tells me "This is ICOR CANADA, It's really important you call us back! The number is ... ... ....".

Whoever they are, they call from early hours in the morning to late in the evening.
AND, every time they call, my computer shuts down. Don't know if that is because I'm on dial-up, but no other number shuts me down!
I don't know who they are or what they want, but I always pay cash and only have Hydro & phone bills, paid through the bank, so I don't owe them or anyone else money! I don't call them back but it's a pain in the behind when my computer shuts down while in the middle of typing something! I wish there's a way to harrass them they way they harrass people! Same thing with someone leaving the messages to call them back right away or I'll not be able to qualify for University..or student..loan! I'm 66 years old, have never applied for student or university loans! One day I just may lose my cool, pick up the phone and in no uncertain terms tell them what they can go do with themselves!

They're a SCAM! I just found out when you call them back they register your phone number then they sell it to other companies!!!! NEVER call them back!!!!
Call at all hours of the day and night...never anyone on the phone when answered....voice message says to call them back it's "very important". Call back and can never get through to anyone. Extremely HARASSING..!!! Have no idea why they are calling in the first place.
They call and say on a message that it is important to call them back, but do not state who they are calling for. When I call back they put me on hold for a looooonnngggg time. So I have no idea what they want. I can't even get hold of a real person to find out who and what they want and to tell them to quit calling. If they want to talk to someone (apparently it's sooooo important) then there should be a human being at the other end of the phone. I am sick and tired of them using up space on my answering machine and tired of not being able to reach someone to tell them to take a hike. Who else feels this way????
When I returned the call the voice mail said they were IcorCanada calling--no other information given. It was after hours, I guess, because there was noone there. They keep phoning and phoning, from different numbers. Who are they? and what do they want??

I think this company may be an outright fraud trying to pose as a legitimate collection agency. It seems there is no recourse against these people because if they aren't a legit company they are probably in some foreign country in which the law of civilized people has no jurisdiction. I actually recommend VERY CREEPY THREATS ; we probably can't do anything about these people but maybe we can make someone so uncomfortable that they quit or go home crying. Anyone who has willingly participated in an organization that harasses strangers repeatedly deserves absolutely no respect.

They keep callng here too..I've never bothered to call them back because #1, it isn't my bill they're calling about and #2, if they want money so bad from a collection they've acquired, shouldn't they mail something in writing to the person they want to collect from? How does anyone know if they're actually legit? I say we all gang together and file one HUGE lawsuit for harrassment. I also think by law they can't call before 9am or after 9pm but I might be wrong. They definitely canNOT call on Sundays.
This automated message keeps calling me and leaving a message on my voice mail. I have no idea what it is... It wont stop calling me.

this company has just started calling that must have it on an auto dailer as it calls as many as 4 times a day. as i work nights it is harassing to get phone calls an no message caller report gives the phone number...
its a collection agency that sucks. I paid of my debt 3 years ago. Now they have started calling me again saying that they never received any payments from me. These guys are dicks. They threaten you and everything even if you aren't being a deadbeat. I HATE THEM!
