This is the second time I've received a call from "MCM Midland Credit Management". The caller has a clear accent, but presents a very American name, this time it was "Martin Helm" (the last call, the person claimed to be Shawn Hamblin). The call comes into my work place and they ask for my boss claiming it's a personal business matter. They previously have called in from 1-877-365-9452
but also gave me the number 1-800-265-8825
extension 55090 to pass along to my boss.
Spam to the max.
I have told these jerks three times that they have the wrong number now I am taking this to the fcc and suing them, they call all hours other day and night
Midland Credit Management!!!This company has many different #'s. I block the number and then they call from another one. They never leave a message and when you do pick up they ask for people I have never heard of!!!. You tell them this and they harass you more!!!
If Midland Credit Management reads this take the hint, I am not John, James, Ruth, Jesus or any other name you want to ask for!!! Tell your "Skip Tracers" to stop calling wrong numbers and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP CALLING!!!
STOP CALLING Dec 07th, 2013
They always call at 8:00am and don't even wait for the machine to pick up. I used to work for a real collections agency and this is not proper conduct. The $16,000 lawsuit is applicable here. Have a field day if you have time!

I have been getting at LEAST 3 calls from these people, 7 days a week, starting at 8am and going as late as 7-8pm at night. I have answered several times, repeating the SAME thing over and over.
It's for an T-Mobile old bill, that per my records was less than 500 when they sent me my "final notice" (I'd lost my job) and that they were sending me to collections. MCM is telling me I owe over 1000 dollars now.
If the calls and the bill weren't enough, I have told them over and over, that I am a student, I am living off of the good graces of family after losing my job, I do not have unemployment or any income that I can use to pay. Their response? "Ok ma'am, I see that you have said before that you are unable to pay due to no work and no money, and you have told me today you are unable to pay due to no work and no pay. I am going to put this down as a refusal to pay."
Really? Refusal to pay? I'm seriously ready to block this number.
I received a phone call too this morning around 8:00 am on a Sunday. I didnt answer, since I do not know this number and have no debt either. This people should be sued.
This number called, it said bill collector from Midland Tx. We have no bills & owe no one. This call was made on Sunday the 20th-2013.To my understanding even if there was such a
bill, they cannot call on weekends and after 9:pm @ night. This was a call on Sunday @ 8:29 a.m. This is not right& I could NOt speak to anyone, since it was Sunday, on Sundays people sleep in, this place is rude & this not the time to call, especially someone that does not owe, anybody. I want this turned in immediately to whom ever needed. Someone needs to take care of these wrong numbers for bill collectors & especially calling someone that knows nothing about it on A Sunday morning @ 8:29 A.M. I will pursue this until it is resolved, so if you can help please do! We have NO idea who this place is nor what it pertains to, since we owe no one! Its going to stop!

The best solution to all these annoying calls is:
Yo can block whole area codes, like 800, 877.... etc, and individual numbers. Your phone never rings on blocked numbers. The caller is answered and then immediately hung up on. Peace and quiet!!
SailingCyclops Oct 18th, 2013
Nobody on the other end of the call.Caller ID says it it MCM.
Called cell phone @ 6:05 PM, 7:05 PM & 8:05 PM ...male with heavy accent left one message...
Mario DiLeo Oct 17th, 2013
Calls 3 to 4 times per day and never leaves a message. We do not answer 8xx numbers nor do we call them back if no message is left. Finding this is MCM and possibly scammer, we are glad not to call them.
We are are the Do Not Call registry.
This phone number 800-265-8825 is owned by karen Chuley 25 Clintin St Seneca Falls , NY. This is getting annoying, please stop calling my number.
I talked with karen chuley and told that I reported her to the police and to stop harassing people. Maybe we all should call her and tell her to stop calling over and over.
This number is from Midland Credit Management. They will call at all hours of the day, including before 8 a.m. and after 8 p.m. as well as on Sundays...which is illegal. I finally answered the phone today (Sunday morning) and told the guy that I was recording the call and that he can't call on Sundays and if he does that I will turn them in for harassment. Haven't heard back from them! All you have to do is go on record of telling them that any further correspondence MUST be done by mail. If they continue to call, then you can get them in big trouble. They have already lost countless class action suits for falsifying original dates of delinquency for purposes of being able to file lawsuits for judgements. I have done a lot of research on consumer rights and believe me...I use that knowledge to aggravate them when I am in one of my moods! Have fun with them...I do!
Made an error in my last comment...(first line). It should read, "...notice of what you owe five days....".
I found out that they are supposed to send you a written notice of what ow five days after their initial contact. I have not received anything and I think they are a scam. I know I owe nothing and my credit report proves it. As for my credit card, I have all my records for the past few years to prove payments. I really don't want to answer these calls. On the other hand, if I do, and ask them all the relevant questions, they might realize that they can't rattle me (just annoy me).
I'm going to call Consumer Law Firm of Francis & Mailman 877-735-8600
) on Monday. This is the contact number I found on the site listed in my past comment. There are also comments on that site that show many other people are experiencing what we are.
Then I'll try the FTC...if they aren't affected by the shutdown.
I just learned that this organization keeps calling my 12 year old daughter over and over, even when she is in class. They know that she is a minor, there's no reason to call her whatsoever, yet they keep calling to talk to her, which makes me assume they're pretty sick. Based on some of the comments below it looks like I'm not the only one with this concern, and I'll be damned if I'm going to let some pedophile hiding behind the name "Midland Credit Management" prey on my kid. We're on the Do Not Call List (like that means anything anymore) and they've been told multiple times to back off. Next stop: police report.
Concerned Dad Oct 12th, 2013
The whole URL address didn't post in my last comment. I'll try it again. If you only see up to the .com, add /Midland_Credit_Management_Inc.htm
The FDCA can possibly help. I found the link below that outlines what these credit people can NOT do. If they are in breach of these rules, you can sue for $1,000...and that can be just for harassment. Keep a record of when these calls come in (date and time). Apparently, there are a LOT of complaints against this company.
I've been getting 3 - 4 calls a day and I am keeping a record (43 since Sept. 23rd). They all seem to come at the same times each day, give or take 10 minutes. I don't answer the phone. But I am thinking on doing so and telling them up front that I am recording the call. I made a list of questions...which I posted in here a few days ago. I'm sure they can't answer any of them. I'm just tired of them calling.
I used to pick up the receiver to answer and click the # pound 5 - 6 times and very quickly. If it's an automated call, I get "kicked out" and I don't get calls back...at least from that particular number. It didn't work for 800-265-8825. So it has to be some kind of other generated call.
My phone number is unlisted and with the DNC and I've had this number for about 7 years. Possibly the person before me who had this number owes a ton of money. Or maybe this Midland Credit is just making up numbers to see if they work. I've gotten calls from credit collectors looking for other people and they have been very nice. I'd ask them to take my number off their list and they all have done so.
Got a call from them yesterday. This is a new number we do not give out or even use. Hubby picked up the phone and told them it was the Butt plug help line. Told them the current one they had was probably too small and that they should go to the hardware store and buy a 2 x 4 and shove it up instead. Caller hung up on him. LOL I am going to let him answer all of these calls since we don't use or give out this number to anyone. We laughed so hard, I suggest you try it.
As other people have reported, they call and never leave a message. If the caller ID does not indicate who is calling, I just collect the numbers and report them to the National Do Not Call Registry. They may be ineffective in stopping the calls but it is my only way of fighting back.
We all need to check out credit reports for accuracy every few months
They only call early mornings every weekend and never leave a message! Very strange so I never answer for that reason. I do not owe Amy debt and I will never answer there calls they are wasting there time lol
keeps calling without leaving any message
While I'm home, I turn off my answering machine. I'm hoping that when this number calls and not even a machine picks up, they will stop calling. I'm not answering it. I have no outstanding debt and my credit report says so.
But I am thinking of answering the call and seeing if they can answer these questions:
What was purchased?
When was it purchased?
What is the amount?
What credit card was used?
What is the date of the purchase?
What is the exact name on the credit card?
What are the last four digits?
What is your company name?
Who am i talking to?
What is your employee ID number?
Why don't you leave messages when you call?
What is the name of your supervisor?
Who or what company told you I owed money?
I'm not afraid of them because I have a clean credit rating. I'm just annoyed. It's possible that whoever had my number before me ran up a debt. Or someone has been giving a bogus number that happened to belong to me.
I figure and HONEST company will answer them all professionally.
Good grief--3 calls in less than 15 minutes. I do not answer calls from unknown numbers. I have voice mail. If you really need me, then use my voice mail and leave me a message.
Received 4 calls from them on Oct.2nd & 3 calls today, Oct. 3rd. Caller ID says Unknown. They will not leave a message. You'd think if someone calls you 7x in 2 days they're really wanting something. So why not at least leave a message.
I had a call from this number yesterday and again today. Judging form the comments, it is a good thing my caller ID took the call. Since my wife and I have an absolutely clean credit report, this would appear to be a scam or else, someone has used our number as a bogus reference number. At any rate, I will monitor my caller ID and not answer the phone. By the way, they did not leave a message either time they called.
They said the call would be recorded and asked if was home and I said wrong number because they didn't say where they were calling or anything caller I'D says toll free number....
NOTICED SEVERAL CALLS ON CALLER ID. LEFT NO MESSAGE.
BEWARE! Never answer a call from this number. These sub-humans are illiterate and inarticulate bottom feeders. When you can understand them, which is rare, their language and grammar is atrocious. Screaming and cursing you is their primary mode of communication. My advice would be to buy a whistle, pick up the call, do not speak. Just start blowing.

I blocked this name & number using CallClerk software. For almost a year, I have blocked 87 numbers with ability to block an untold number more. That way I will not run out of numbers I can block. Even works with a wild card to block numbers that show a name but no number or number but no name. It keeps a log so I can see how many times a number has called in the event I care to report them.
Voicemail - recorded female voice stated that all representatives are busy assisting other customers. A "representative" came on the line and said, "Hello? Hello?" and hung up. Apparently, this is Midland Credit Services and a ripoff or scam. I have excellent credit.
thay call me 10 times a day 7 days a week can i stop them???????
Answer to a "please hold your party will be here shortly". Did not wait,
They just called me, but I left it unanswered as I do with all the uninvited calls from 800 numbers after 8pm.
This number if part of Praxis collections and handle bills for Credit One credit cards... Go online to the BBB and put their name in and it will come up and from there submit your complaints, I have done so already and the BBB had responded the next day
Looking over my Google Voice BLOCKED & SPAM LIST for the day I see these idiots called again Yesterday @ 11:16 AM.
Caller: Midland Credit Management (MCM)
Call Type: Debt Collector
called at 8:49 a.m. left no message when machine picked up; caller ID showed "toll-free" and the phone number. I too am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. Call not legit or they would leave a message.
Reported as a violation of the DNCL.
These calls need to stop. I am on the do not call list and from what i have read on here it is all fraudulent.

I have been getting calls from "UNKNOWN CALLER" no phone number so I finally picked up and I asked what he wanted he said he needed to speak to me (asked for me by name) I said "she is not available". I asked who was calling and to leave his number as "she" will call back. He said his name is JERRY KINGSTON ( I see he changes his name like changing hats) and he is calling from MCM. Well I don't know any JK or anyone from MCM. He gave me a number to call back... 800-265-8825. He had an accent and I am guessing he is calling from INDIA. I am fed up as this person calls at all hours, everyday. I will block his phone number. Next time he calls I will pick up and put the receiver in the drawer. I have no intention of calling back or having any dealings. I think this is a scam and they buy the names, otherwise how did they get my name and number.
This guy called thomas scared our daughter to death saying if her mother didnt call him back she wouldbe in jail
have called consitantly at 9pm California time, no message, no call back #, never heard of them befor now, and located this site saying scam!!!!
Calls for random names of people we haven't heard of.
We get bunches of these, the folks who had our number (10 years ago) were deadbeats... last few years it's just random names.
Lee, the large volume debt collectors have been outsourcing to South Asia for years now. Some are owned outright by Indian firms.
I would really like to see where you've pulled your statistics regarding the most likely persons to pay fraudulent debt. The wealthy have no problem outspending their opponents in court. It's the middle and lower classes which are the low hanging fruit, who often don't know they have rights or legal tools to fight with. I can't go a month without reading about someone who paid off some debt they never owed simply because their credit report and a major purchase were being held hostage by a lawbreaking collector. Don't even get me started on the ''sewer service'' scandals like we've seen in Minnesota.
Here are guides to the federal laws which protect the rest of us who can't buy our way out of trouble:

SCAM ARTIST WATCH OUT !
I suspect MCM group is using low-paid foreign workers from India who could speak English. I suspect the Job of MCM is to keep calling the same number over and over asking for a Fake name or Non-Existing Person. This is a NEW kind of Making Money invented by the Chinese and India, the purpose of strategy is to bother people so they have to deal with the bills that they never owe to avoid being harassed, I suspect MCM group also using the other method is to report to 3 credit bureaus the deb that victims do not owe .
MOST of people in US don't pay the deb that we do not owe but estimate 02% of rich people will pay to this kind of threat to avoid being harassed or to face a bad credit reports .
The math is to make phones call to thousands people a month and .02% of rich people who will pay, as I suspect it is MCM group will Make A Fortune by using this criminal method. Recently, Vietnamese police arrested 10 Chinese doing this kind of business in Vietnam .
If MCM group is a legitimate collection agency , they will not have more than 1,000 complaints file in BBB website about "wrong number" harassment phone calls, false credit reports, also thousands of people report about MCM group on the internet about MCM group consistent with the phone calls to a "wrong person", "wrong numbers".
two three times a day no message left,or nobody there when picking up and saying hello
started calling a week ago as a blocked nbr from 8 in the morning til 4 7days a week never amessage. Do you think maybe people are working during those hours mon thru fri? Finally took a call and it was midland to settle a debt if we didn't settle today it would be a refusal to pay. Oddly enough both the person I spoke to and his supervisor had american sounding names but very thick east Indian accents
Caller asked for my brother who has not lived at my address for five years. I informed the caller that he only had a cell phone and was willing to give her that number, but was told she was not allowed to call cell phones. She than asked me if I could take a message for my brother and have him return her call, which I did, however, this phone call happened at 8:20 pm EST. When calling I believe that this company should be aware of the time zone they are calling.
They have called 15 times and it is not even for me or my wife, but her daughter. Who we have not given our home phone # to. She calls the cell phone, free minutes, mobile to mobile. I have gotten them on the phone only once, today. The phone is under my name, unlisted and unpublished. How did they get it? They also wanted to talk to my wife. Said no, not here now. 1 more phone call and I will ask for manager and send a complaint to the BBB. He hung up B4 I could ask to be taken off list. I emailed all info to the daughter. I never give out info to anyone unless they say I can. I also got a lot of hang ups when I did pick up. Tired of them. I just saw my cable info for my phone. According to my cable phone log, the first call from them was 17 Jan, 2008.
Caller asked for Julie. Julie does not live here. I wish to be taken off their call list. I asked them and they said they would do it.

These people are ridiculous they have been calling me for months trying to bully me into paying a bill for something that I do not owe. They were calling from the 555-555-5555
number and blocked numbers up to 7 times a day. On my cell phone. I sent them a registered letter asking for proof of the debt that they never responded to. It really doesn't matter since my phone is set up to send blocked and fake numbers directly to voice mail but what they are doing is in violation of the FDCPA if they have done this to you I recommend filing a complaint with the BBB and the California state attorney general. Until people stand up to these bottom feeding bullies nothing will be done about them. The one time I tried to discuss this on the phone with one of them he screamed at me and I hung up on him. I still have not received the information verifying the debt because it is obviously not real. If it was they would have no trouble proving it. After my complaint to the BBB the calls stopped. I recommend everyone who gets harrased by these losers file the complaints. Its the only way they will be held accountable.
i have been receiving calls from 555-555-5555
and the 800 # listed above also. i didnt realize they were related until i looked at this site. they have been calling about 1-2 times per day while i am at work. further google search said that it's a ripoff alert so beware. they do not leave a msg
Actually i am working in USA as a financial planning expert. Recently i got some calls from 800-265-8825 no. & the person was asking about a another person's information which is not related to me. I tried to make him understand that might be he is making some mistake but he was not ready to listen anything. It was very disturbing for me. Finally i got the information about that no with the help of ..
Yesterday I got a call from this number. As I was busy I could not receive the call. Then I tried a lot to contact them but. No one responded. After searching a lot I got their details from this page http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/midlandcredit.html .I think they have called me by mistake.
A debt collector for Midland Credit Management, San Diego, California. Called my house which has an unlisted, nonpublished number looking for my ex-husband. Have no idea how they found my phone number.
BCR - a debt colection agency called for elizabeth - no one here by that name, would not take my number out of their data base until I spoke to a manager
