VM states - This is Chris St. James with Broadcom at 800-210-2892. I'm calling regarding your credit card balances and the minimum payments that are going up. You now qualify for the debt reduction allowance program....and it's imperative that you give me a call.

My advice...don't return their call or block the number.

I've been getting calls from this guy Chris StJames of Broadcom 3-4 times/week about credit card debt reduction. I never answer. It just goes to voicemail. It's a recorded voice that leaves the message. So far the calls have come from two different locations, one in Las Vega 702-520-1396), the other in Long Beach, CA562-289-8155).

I figured since they called me three times I should be allowed to call them a couple more times as well. The next call was answered as Broadcom Debt consolidation, do you have any debts you would like to take care of? I asked if they were telemarketers and was imediately hung up on.

The third call was a little more fun. This woman was not taking any crap from me. Probably had her on the phone for about 5 minutes. She explained to me that it was not a scam, in fact her ex boyfriend was enrolled in this so it had to be real. I asked her for his phone number so I could ask him what he thought about the program. She wouldn't give it to me but was willing to give him mine. Then she went into a rant about Americans being so paranoid and that I was probably recording the phone call to use it against her. She said something about representing 10 companies. She did wish me a nice day before she hung up on me.

I doubt they are in the united states. In reference to another comment posted, nothing even similiar to child pornography came up. All three that ansered had very thick middle east accents.

Came to work this morning and had three messages from "Chris St. James" from Broadcom. The message goes on to tell me that my credit card payments are about to go up and it is IMPERATIVE that I call right away to have this matter taken care of. Probably would have scared me to death but, I don't have any credit cards.

I called the 800 number and asked to speak to Chris St. James. Apparently he is not in the office today I was told, but the lady offered to assist me. Her first question was, do you have debt over 10K. I asked to speak to a manager and she hung up.

Same message as everone else is getting. This idiot Christ St. James calls me every single day on my office phone and I've called back a few times to pretending to want to use their services until I reach someone to tell that these calls are harrassment and I never get to finish the sentence before they hang up in my ear.

I'm getting really sick and tired of these daily calls which have been going on for months and I can't seem to get the issue resolved.
I think I'll call them back twenty times a day and depending on my mood I'll use whatever foul language I can muster up.

Exact same story, get the same message on my vm when I get home. Have called four different days, multiple times and asked to be removed. I get hung up on every time I ask for a manager, or ask for the company name. When I ask to be removed, they say they will remove me and hang up immediately. (No, pressing #1 does not work.) One time I actually spoke with someone who sounded like an American and actually sounded nice. -without all the chatter of a typical call center in the background. I told him I've asked to be removed before and he said "oh yeah, that's a different call center. They aren't very good about that." I've already received two more calls this week. I was angry so I told them I was giong to sue them -she replied "Ok. Do you have any debt?" that would be funny if it weren't so annoying! Also, they say they are located in California. -yeah, right. I feel really bad for the little old ladies and others who will fall for this and sent money! thanks for the tips on further action, I will also investigate...

I have been getting this same call for over 2 weeks now at my work place. He must call after I go home because the message is always on my voice mail the next morning. I wonder how long the calls will continue, maybe he will grow tired of getting no reply and stop soon.

I have done some research on this phone # and company. I have evn ghotten the police involved because the calls are actually becoming harrassing. This is some kind of scam where they are trying to get your credit card information. DO NOT give them any information. Hang up on them. This company is probably not even in the US, so the police have told me it will be very difficult to catch them, however I have reported it to the local police and the local Fraud/Scam Dept. of the FBI...you can also do the same by going to www.IC3.gov this website takes care of fraud etc.
When you asked to be removed they hang up on you. When you press 1 to be removed it does not work. I do not own any credit cards. Read the rest of these comments...I did....some give even more info

I got this message about credit reduction. I don't have any credit cards that
need reducting. I was once caught up in one of these scams that cost me $2000 and
an increase penalties on my visa credit. I lost my $2000 to these scammers before the
credit card company got in touch with me. Now I owe more than I did before and lost all
chances of having any credit.

This recording called my cell phone and left the message:

"This is Chris St. James with Broadcom at 800-210-2892. I am calling regarding your credit card balances and the minimum payments that aren't going up. It's imperative that you call me back. You now qualify for the Debt Reduction Allowance Program. Again, my name is Chris St. James and my phone number is 800-210-2892, and it is imperative that you give me a call."

This guy calls me almost weekly. I never get to speak to him personally--it automatically goes to my voicemail. Each time he uses the exact same message, word for word, telling me I "now qualify for a debt reduction allowance program." Well, I don't own any credit cards, therefore I have no need for his fake debt program. Get this guy to stop!!

"Chris St James from Broadcom Debt Settlement Center, imperative to call about consolidating unpaid credit card debt at 800-210-2892" - calling federal private offices for over a month. Called back - pushed #1 to delete phone number from system, but iit just hung up. Then called back and got foreign man, who hung up when I identified my federal agency. Called back immediately and lady answered "Broadcom Debt Settlement Center Can I consolidate your credit card debt?" Asked for manager - never available. Identified my federal agency and requested all calls to office cease. Referred to FTC and FCC for additional action.

Here is what I do know...After calling At&T and our DA I have found that DA's across the nation are looking for the source of this. This is a scam folks..DUH, that you already knew.Today they have calle dunder three names on our house phone and two cells phones has been going on since Aug.'07 Law Today I got thru to the 1-800-210-2892 which seems to be open more on weekends but still does me no good to call and tell them to stop calling. As I understand, DA's are trying but this scam is big. The thing is they are working thru routers so they can't be traced. They are collecting personal info. for ID theft and other scams ALL the numbers are for scams. They also run the one that says "Attention !!! this is Credit Card Services calling about your Visa/Mastercard...If you call them you can often get the center but you can't get usable infor that will help you find them or at least I haven't. Still report it to your DA. In Oklahoma the number is 1-800-390-5708 make sure you are updated on the AT&T no call list and that you are not expired. Record the call if you can. If you do get any information at all hand it over to your lacal D.A. ASAP before the next family next senior get taken for everything.... Thanks Tonni Oklahoma

We just got this business number last week and it looks as if the telemarketers/scammers already have it. We don't have a credit card for the business yet so obviously my interest rates aren't going up!!

Big Time spam and scammer - he nearly cheated me out of $200/week! Offered to pay off all my credit cards - I gave him 2 fake credit card numbers. He claimed to see the balances which I made up. He then asked me to send him periodic payments of $200/week and to ignore my bills or forward them to him as he would take care of them. This is a big scam!

I've gotten Chris St. James from 5 different numbers in the last 2 days at work:

954-973-7300
310-693-2767
305-423-1126
231-732-2401
561-253-1135

all asking I contact him at 800-210-2892.

He has been calling me at work for the LAST 4 MONTHS NON-STOP. HTF do you report this clown and get him to serve some jail time?

I can't wait 90 days for the Do-Not-Call List and what if he doesn't comply?

Chris St. James calling to let me know that it is imperative to call him back at 800-210-2892 as I now "QUALIFY" for the "DEBT REDUCTION ACT/PROCESS" as my credit card payments are piling up with Broad Com. Well, I have NO Credit Cards, Never Heard of Broad Com nor, do I have them on any of my 3 Credit Reports all which I received yesterday. It's a SCAM and one that we need to bust open widely. As this is the 12th time they have called with the Caller ID showing LIB MGT. And Phone Number 231-732-2400. Glad that I don't have Credit Cards or Even a Debit Card anymore. If I want it I pay cash. Don't be a fool and fall for their scheme. Love to all Pookie!!

my caller id showed the number as 231-732-2413 (Michigan). Sounded like an automated message that I "qualified" to consolidate debt. Safe to ignore, just spam.

They have an auto dialer that calls my business line every other week. The message usually starts before I can catch the number but this time I did. I called and told them to remove me from the list. We'll see if they honor it...
