just started service on a new att go-phone and immediately started getting endless calls from 770.423.7998. I checked the number att assigned to me and it was a recycled metro pcs number. I get charged for each day i answer a call. so, i can't use voice mail or att gets money for calls from 770.423.7998 which belong to the previous owner of the new number ATT assigned to me. Att will do nothing about it. Thus, as soon as my cash credit on the ATT phone runs out, it goes into the TRASH! Thus, ATT is a NO-GO phone company. I'll boycott both ATT and Metro PCS.

They called 5x today at a business. The I finally answered it. They asked for a girl's name then quickly changed to a neutral name of one of our employees. I offered his voice mail. The next couple times they called the office manager answered. She told 2 different people this was a place of business and to call that person at home. They said they'd remove the number yet there were 2 calls. Where the office manager went throught the same conversation. How annoying.

These people did call me at all hours of the day. I did not realize that my wife had missed a payment. I called the number on my card and payed the amount due. You people complaining about them calling you need to pay your bills and they will not call you anymore. I have not heard from them again. Pay your bills if you have the money. If not, Change your number or they will keep calling.

I have received dozens of calls from this number over the past several days. The calls begin every day at 7 AM or so. Finally today I answered and demanded to know who was calling me. A female voice said that she was calling from circuit city. I told her this was not a good time, to call back and leave a message, and that I would return the call on my time. She called back and left a message saying she had some information that would interest me and left an 800 number. She did not identify herself and was very vague in her message. These people are ruthless and I just want them to stop calling. This is a scam for sure!

These people are ruthless! They call my home and my cell at least 6-7 times a day. My Chase accounts are paid for this month and when I called to complain about the calls they told me that the accounts were paid and this would be fixed. We will see...

Chase is a scam. I paid the payment, direct deposite. The purposly created an issue and denied the payment making it late and late charges. MORE CORPORATE BANKING SCAMS. Good thing it's only $200(well now $235). Paying off and cancelling. Credit Cards are EVIL and so are these banks that issue them. I advise all to pull their funds adn go to a credit union!

I used to work for a bank, and it sounds like this number is most likely a scam to get your bank information. The fact that they are calling on Sunday pretty much guarantess its not actually the bank. They're calling my house 3 times a day for someone who doesn't live here.

Call 800-766-3579
When it asks for the last four digits of your SS# enter 0000
It will then ask for your full ss# enter 000-00-0000
3 times and you will finally get passed to a human. If you don't have an account with them, they will remove you from the call list - otherwise Tough

You have the right to stop all collection calls.

Fair Debt Collection Practice Act

States that you can ask any creditor to stop calling you, just know that you still have to deal with it, but at least your phone will stop ringing!

http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm

many will require a letter to get this set up, but it's worth it!

They pray on those who do not know, so Get Educated On This!
STOP THE CALLS

Evidently, someone used my phone number on a Circuit City credit card account. They became delinquent and started calling the made up number on the application - which happened to be mine! It was easy to remove by calling 1-800-945-9470, which is a computer-prompted line that removes your phone number from future solicitations from Circuit City.

After two months of calls from the 770 number (again it's actually Circuit City and not Chase Card Services which they claim to be), they left a number to call (they were looking for someone but our number was the wrong number for that person). I called the number, 800-766-3579, told them they had the wrong number and voila -- no more calls!!

They are those african mother fuckers that try to collect information about you. They have been calling me several times a day for the past month. Everytime its someone with an african accent and those places specialize in scams. I got them to stop calling me by trying to get them to let me speak to their supervisor and he asked for my phone number and removed me from the list, no call since then. They tried to ask for my address and SSN#. I hope to see these people one day so I can snap their fuckin neck and shove it up their ass.

Same thing, calling me multiple times a day. Waking me up some mornings at 8:27 (same as Perplexed), but i don't answer. It's 9:30 on a saturday morning and they've called twice! Someone told me credit card companies can only call once a day or it can be considered harassment - don't know if that's true. Think it's true for collection agencies (maybe it varies by state, i'm in PA)

I have no credit cards with Circuit City but do buy from them. I have a Chase Credit Card, and had my Chase Bank Manager call the number since he was not convinced this was a Chase related business. The rep at the 770 number finally admitted that she is not a Chase employee but a Circuit City employee. She initially lied and said she was. She hung up when my Chase rep pushed to speak to her supervisor. I think Chase must underwrite their cards. In any case, Chase has nothing to do with these calls. I called the Circuit City 800-593-4361 customer service number and threatened to no longer do business with them online or in local stores and that I would advise all my friends to do the same if these calls did not stop. I also told them I have been reporting every single one of their calls from the last 3 weeks to the National Do Not Call Registry. She said the calls would stop in 2 weeks and gave me a call ID # to verify that I had called. She said to call back if I received any more calls after 2 weeks. We shall see what happens.

arg they call my cell non-stop my stupid ex gave them my number like I am going to pay her bills. Sometimes I pickup and cover the mic and just let them eat silence till they get tired and hang up. Since I know it is a computer doing the dialing it gets at least somewhat even to make them have a real person pick up the phone and ask for over a minute if anyone is there...ha...once the divorce is final i'm going to talk to them and tell them to go to hell and they better not call 1 more time...

I received two phone calls from this number. It shows up on my cell phone as a caller from Georgia. First time I've ever heard of them.

Just remember people: never give your account information over the phone (or in an e-mail, for that matter) to ANYONE, no matter what.

Unlike most people - I get a live rep when I answer - there is a delay so it's like they are being patched in to a call center elsewhere because the local number is clearly a 'cloak' or fake number used to get people to pick up when they avoid picking up 'no name' or 800 number phone calls. You see a local number you don't recognize, you're more likely to pick it up.

The reason why I'm registering this is because I've had no less than 6 phone calls today afrer I finally made an online payment (got paid, you see) which was late by about a week.

I didn't pick up the phone because I've been at work and have it on silent. I did have one voice message attempted to be left - I say attempted because there wasn't any talking, only noise like whoever was calling was out on a street or had a bad mic and it only lasted about 4 or 5 seconds.

At any rate, Chase bank borders on harrassment when it comes to dealing with late payments.

There's no getting around it unless you pay up or, in the case they are wrong, you use your time and money to fight back. Good luck to those who are being harrassed and they aren't even customers.

I get about 6 to 10 calls from this number a day on each of my phones, home & cell!!!! And like the others, When I answer, nothing and then they call back immediately. I have spoken to numerous reps from there and am still getting these VERY AGGRAVATING calls from them, now they just call, let it go to voicemail and don't leave messages it is 2pm my time right now and I have already received 3 calls within the last 2 hours!!
