YES. A bank or finance company can file court orders and warrants for theft if you eventually don't pay. You MUST either pay for it or surrender it to them. As far as I know repossession companies do not take payments, they just want the car. My suggestion is to give it to them. Repo dudes can be scary people lady! They will follow you, stake out your home, go INTO your place of work, etc...

These people are calling me about my car that I don't want to pay for...it's a piece of shit! They tell me they must give me a chance to surrender the vehicle before filing a court order and a warrant for theft! CAN THEY DO THAT?? Please let me know asap. I am a single mom and don't want to go to jail!
