To everyone that is trying to get out of this crap with cardida:

This is what you tell them.

tell them you are considering joining others that are suing them. Tell them a lawyer told you that they are suppose to give you 3 days to change your mind. Which they make you sign that right away when you buy into it. This is ILLEGAL. ALL MAJOR PURCHASES ON A LINE OF CREDIT OR LOAN... HAS 3 DAYS FOR YOU TO CHANGE YOUR MIND! Tell them you tried to get out of it the day after you signed the paperwork and was told you could not.
They will try to tell you their paper work is pretty air tight... blah blah blah. Then say that they have to talk to someone. But in the end they will tell you that they might be able to get you out of it. and then send you a MUTUAL release form. Which says that neither of you can sue the other and basically lets just call it even.. and you cant bad mouth them or hinder anyone from doing business with them... and if you ever get subpeona'ed you have to let them know immediatley. ETC..

Be insistent. when they threaten you with court tell them thats fine my lawyer says we should join the others suing you. and hang up.. beleive me they will call you back.

Good Luck!

So i got the infamous call, me and my husband took the tour, i liked the place. We joined, kids liked the place. here we are 2 1/2 years later and man do I wish I would have had the flu the day we went up for that tour. This place is a bunch of crooks. They sell your account to a place that is illegally buying accounts, sign contracts to buy back the account and give you something better in your package, add a little more money, and then breach the contract. Then have the god forsaken nerve to threaten us. This is all over my credit report because they failed to do what they legally signed to do, see you in court Cardida Resorts. Oh yeah and they pretty rude and harrassing as well. I had to tell my little ones who loved going there that they tore it down, as after they mess up they will not allow us to come up there. My kids have spent the last 2 years up there for summer getaways and for every halloween. Again, Thanks alot idiots, hope you sleep well at night!!

Yeah, the gift thing is what really draws you in....then it is all crap......as far as the resort goes....if you enjoy camping or Rving...it is the place to be. We thought we would but we HATE camping and RVing.....it just is not for us.....Then we traded up for the Condo package which is more us and NEVER used it. They have just been purchased by another company....we shall see how it goes.

I've not signed up for one of the car entrys from this resort because I am aware of the gimmick to soft sell you on the resort. I can however tell you that my husband and I did this about 25 years ago with another camp ground resort and took the tour, picked up an outdoor grill AND a telephone w/answering machine. We did buy the resort membership and used it most every weekend and loved every minute of it. Our two children were small at the time and there was so much to do. We became friends with so many other regular campers of a variety of ages. There were basketball courts, indoor & outdoor pools, bingo every weekend, monthly dances, potluck dinners, etc. There was an activity director for the children and they gave away ribbons for coloring contests, crafts, etc. There were hay rides and halloween trick-or-treating around the campgrounds and so much more. Tons of things to do with nearby lake and attractions. We eventually sold our membership once the kids grew up and moved away. It was a great family investment for us, at the time.

Had to clean up my mess from the first post : )

I have received the call as well and I don't think I will be making the trip. For one, I have read stories from people who go say it's pretty much a scam and not worth it. I believe this because when I was called, everything sounded great and I was pretty much sold on going. There was one thing the rep said that rubbed me the wrong way however. When informing me that a packet of mail would be sent to me, she mentioned that the guaranteed prizes listed on the brochure are not the prizes that I would win. She told me what my possible 2 of 5 prizes I get with no obligation and said the reason they were sending me the wrong brochure is that they did not want to print out new ones because this particular promotion was almost over. My thought on them not wanting to print more is because it would have been a massive amount of printing, meaning there are a massive amount of semi-finalist. That made me seem not so special. Another red flag was the fact that the rep on the phone told me to bring only ID and some sort of utility bill. The information mailed to me, said that in order to claim my prizes, I needed my ID and a checkbook or credit card. If I have no obligation to buy, why do I need a credit card or checkbook to claim a free (like they stated on the phone call) prize? It does also say on the prize brochure, that it's a round trip two night stay...air for one, but the room is for two people. That makes sense, when I read in order to claim the trip, another person MUST buy airfaire, hence a two person room. The can't even make it a little fair and say, you can go alone and stay in a one person room. Oh well, as the say...if it sounds too good to be true, it normally is

They are located in the blue building on 40 west, south side, very close to Interstate 77.

Also on Main Street on second floor of corner building across from Southeastern Printing.

Was called and advised I was a semi-finalist in the possiblibility of winning 25K or a new car. If I didn't win that then I was guaranteed to win 2 out of a list of 5 prizes. I asked how many semi-finalist are chosen? Rep didn't answer and said she can schedule me for a tour. She was very nice and spoke clearly and slowly. I politely declined and asked how she got my name since I DO read the fine print and am very clearly aware of these type of calls and offers. I avoid all these entry forms like the plague. Of course it was a family member that filled out my name so, oh well. Just tell them "no" and to remove your name and number from any future calls. They must abide due to FTC laws. Just like any other call or solicitation they must abide and there is actually a FTC deisclosure they are suppose to read to you. "It will take up to 30 days to remove your name & you may receive calls in the meantime..." Don't get mad at the reps, just say no ...and they obviously got your name from a form that was filled out.

Wow you are really dumb! First off I don't work for them but if you would have read the back of the entry form you would have known all that before they called you. If people on that website had half of a brain they would have read it too :) No wonder why the economy is going to the craps because people are such airheads.

I did indeed fill out the entry to win a car at the mall. MONTHS later I began getting calls from these people. They never left a message, so finally one day I was bored and irritated enough to answer. It was Pymatuning Valley Resort, offering all kinds of "prizes" to tour their "resort". After researching online not only did I learn the "resort" is a dumpy hunk of land with trailers, but I also found out that they do not deliver on their "prizes". The vacation comes with various contingencies and the camera is a piece of crap, the $500 is never delivered but they do give people an "online shopping spree" where you can shop for WAY overpriced pre-selected CRAP.

So YES, that is considered a scam. Any employee posting here in their defense is an idiot. Not for working there, because lord knows we all need to eat (right?) but for spending your free time defending their shady business practices. YES, it's MY fault they have my phone number - but they lied to me on the phone, just like they lie to everyone else. They get their potential customers with false promises. THAT IS SHADY.

Alright folks, I am here to set the record straight. First off we (Cardida Resort Group )are NOT a scam in anyway shape or form, You are receiving calls from us because YOU filled out an entry form to win a new car or $25,000.00 in cash. It plainly states on the entry form that you will receive a call from one of our representatives concerning taking a tour of one of our resorts.
We do not buy nor sell your information to anyone. It also states that by filling out the entry form that you are giving us permission to call you EVEN if you are on the Do Not Call list. We adhere to the strict policies of the FCC and the better business bureaus ( The BBB is basically a useless entity in it's self, due to the fact that you pay to be a member. the more you pay, the better your rating) And the reason we don't leave messages is because that anyone can check an answering machine, so if someone other than the person that ACTUALLY filled out the entry form would happen to check it and delete it, there's goes a potential winner and customer down the drain. We DON'T ask you for any info. we are just verify what's already on the form, which YOU filled out to begin with. It is the most cost-effective way to market the resorts. Basically word of mouth advertising. We don't charge you for the tours, there are no hidden cost for taking the tour. as far as the AWARDS are concerned you don't win the awards you EARN them by taking the tour of the resort, You are under no obligation to purchase ANYTHING at anytime to receive these AWARDS. Listen I am not telling anyone to stop filling out the entry forms, I am just saying that you should completely read the form before you do fill it out. We as a company have to abide by all FCC rules and regulations. As far as the rudeness is concerned, I personally will and have fired people for being rude to the customers ( There's always a bad apple or two in any business and we and I do our absolute best to weed out the bad ones. So if you happen to receive a call from us go ahead pick-up the phone and listen to what we have to say, you might just find yourself 25k richer. And besides the Resorts are top-notch camping resorts that just may interest you. Believe me folks we work our tails off to make a living and to ensure that your visit is a pleasant one.

document how many calls you get after you told them 'no thanks'. Then report them to your phone company. Any calls after that 'no' is telephone harrassment and is against the law. I got suckered into a membership and it is such a rip off. The 'prize' is dollar store junk. The salesman lies. Once you sign on, you gave away your rights to change to your mind. They charge 17% interest, $300-$500 for 'maintenance' (of what, a 6x6 piece of grass you sometimes use), keeping your camper there is another charge, moving it is another charge.

Another tip: when they call, answer the phone and put it down on the desk and walk away. let them talk all they want, you are now wasting their time.

They just called me again and said that I was a finalist for a PT cruzer or $25000 and wanted me to come to Cambridge ohio then they said they would give me $50.00 in a gas rebate if I went there to see if I had the right key to win one of the two automoblies. I don't remember filling out anything, who knows.

VERY CRUCIAL INFORMATION!

-You are getting a phone call regarding an entry form that you or a family member filled out for you for a car giveaway. They did not buy your information, you willingly gave it to them when you filled out the tiny little slip and threw it in the magical box. You probably filled out the entry form a bit hastily and didn't read the fine print on the back where it states, and I quote, "This above signature gives Cardida Corporation and/or it's resort's affiliates the right to contact you by phone." -Basically exempting you from their DNC list. =(

So, sorry, this company may seem to be violating the Do Not Call Registry's regulations, but they are not.

Just remember, don't fill out entry forms.

I got home from work around 6:10 p.m. today and there were several "Private Caller" messages on my caller ID, but no messages. I also noticed an entry as "Cardida.com" with a phone # of 740-432-7855. I was on the verge of calling the number to see who they were and you guessed, my phone rang with the same info Cardida.com They told me the same old crap they're telling everyone else.....I told them I did not sign up for anything at a mall or fair and to take my name off of their calling list!

They called me 4 - 5 times in one day. I finally answered. They said I filled-out something at a mall (which I didn't) and that I was a finalist to win a car. They confirmed my name and address and phone number and if I was a US citizen, married or single. I then googled them, saw this comment board and immediately called them back and told them to remove my number and name from their list. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The cardida corporation called my mother and told her she definitly won 2 of 5 gifts if she visits them in cambridge ohio. to make this short, I reseached them and called them with a story about how my mother was totally disabled and was grossly overweight and how we had to start out a day in advance in order to do any traveling because we had to make special preparations in order to get her up there. Well someone finally told me that basically there would be thousand of people there and her actually winning something was slim and the stuff they would give her when she got there would be what everybody else got which was a trip that the winner would have to pay 400 dllars for sometime down the road in order to take it and a 3mm vivatar camera that they bought by the pallet load for like a dollar. Anyhow this place is like all the others.and they are in severe violation of the national do not call list which I am sure they will eventually get sued for. I wish I had the time to call them back and play with their heads some. maybe tell them i was somone from the national do not call organization and that i have had over 600 complaints abut them over the past month or so. Not everybody can be Jarod though(the pretender). So maybe someone else will see this and try it.

They said i signed up for a chance to win either $25,000 or a PT Cruiser. At the mall or at the fair. I don't sign up for any of those things so i won't get these kinds of calls.

I have taken calls from two different people, one gave me this number to call back and the other gave me this number..1-800-837-2114.

It is for some resort/vacation place.

When they call, they claim that you have signed up for a "free" prize. But when you check their info on the BBB link that Linda provided, you'll see that they OFFER prizes, which will be, of course, in exchange for listening to their sales pitch. I've filled out two prize slips at the mall in the past year - and those were free and clear - not for a timeshare proposition. Tell them to remove you from their callling list.
