for goodness sakes people...this is a scam!!!! They try to get you to make a payment over the phone for your credit card (Macys)....yes they have some information,but what information is held confidential these days??? These people are good....they will do what they have to do to make a buck. If it was a true call, from Macys or any 'real' company for that matter, they would leave a detailed message and a phone number to call them back, they would not ask you to confirm anything because they called you, they would not be so rude etc.....they have called me on several occasions, ironically a couple days after I make a purchase at Macys, so I know I do not have a past due balance....one time I was atually at Macys when they called, I told them that I would go make a payment right now as I was in the store...they discouraged that and still tried to get a payment over the phone...really people?? If you answer and they ask you to verify any number be it Social Security # or Acct #, give them all zeros or / and ask them to verify who they are. Irritate them too...
They call up to 15 times a day and never leave a message, but fill up voicemail with dead air. If I answer, they usually hang up. Twice, I have been connected to thickly accented men asking for 2 different people who have never lived here. I told them to please take the number off the list, but the calls have only increased since then. It is total harassment.
I called the # back and let them know that we don't have a Macy's acct. so to please stop calling. The person how answer asked for my phone # to take us out of the calling list.
Hope this stops the calls now.

I am being harrassed all day by this company. My payment is only $14.00 per month. I was inundated by medical bills last month and since I am on a fixed income the payment is set for Wednesday Sept. 26. My balalce is on $164.00.

About 80% of the files i work these days are folks who hang up and get defensive so they go even further past their due date and get more late charges and credit score dings. and if you think you have some kind of legal case against macys we-he-hell think again, read your contract before you sign it okay? okay.

Indian call center for Macy's. I asked to be transferred to a representative n the United States. The Indian rep claimed that he did not understand me and refused to o acknowledge my request. I hang up due to the recalcitrance exhibited by the rep.
Perhaps you may also choose not to deal with Indian reps to which may force change in Customer Service practices.
MCCS really sounds like a rotten peach, with practices that would attract many consumer lawsuits, execpt for one problem. On the face, the retail cards are issued by Citi Group, which would be the lender, or original creditor. Normally I would cite FDCPA as a defense platform and a means to stop the hassling cold, but it covers only third party collectors. Presumably only state collections laws would apply, and not many address original creditors.
Here's where it gets cloudy. Macy's, or rather its parent Federated Department Stores, has a confusing deal with Citi Group regarding ownership of its consumer credit accounts. MCCS manages them all but does not own some of them. Citi and Macy's don't share account info, according to one Macy's call center rep.
It is very hard to pin down if all or only some Macy's accounts are collected as 'first party' prior to charge-off. It would be lovely if the comment from 'RH' over two years ago proved correct, or at least MCCS could be legally defined as a third party collector. Then any one of you getting bullied by MCCS could readily spank them in court at low or no cost.

In a somewhat related note, twelve years ago Federated paid out around $14.5 million in settlement for rotten debt collection practices. That case was on different grounds, but it does not appear FDS has learned much from the punishment.

This company is not associated with Macy's. They are relentless with the calls but when we answer we get hung up on. Tried to call back and get an answering machine. SCAM!

Macys and IO spoke today. This is NOT macy's. It is a collection agency that finds phone numbers they buy from yoiur friendly neighbiorhood phone company, or other retailer, then they attempt to get you to pay a debt you do not owe. It IS a scam.. Have Macy's credit department call this number. If enough of us do that, Macy's will shut this illegal operation down.
This company is Macy's Customer Service. My father passed away in April of 2008. After telling them over a dozen times that my father is dead they still continue to call and harass us. Ban Macy's from your Shopping list. My mother is ill and they have the ignorance to continue their exceedingly poor practices. They disgust me and everyone will know it.

I got calls on my cell phone from this number two to four times a day for just over a month. I only answered the first call, at which time I refused to confirm my name and the last four digits of my credit card (and asked to be removed from their list). I've repeatedly asked them to remove my name from their list, especially since I do not even have an account with Macy's or Bloomingdale's; however, they have yet to remove my name because they keep calling me! Got a call from an operator in the evening asking for someone that wasn't me. I told her it was a wrong number and she sounded incredulous and asked me if I was sure. I repeated my answer and she hung up.

Of all the calls I have gotten from unknown callers, this is the worst. The answering machine instructs callers to leave a message, but this caller leaves a "dial tone" message, and has yet to leave a real message.

I have had Macy's card for over 10 years and never missed a payment; During the month of Dec 2007, I didn't receive Macy's bill; I called Macy's customer service and reported this situation, customer service person promised to send me a substitution bill; I sent my payment any way but 3 days later than the supposed due date. Appears Macy's immediately sent my account for collection ($51). The collection phone service called me with different phone numbers, and 3:00 a.m. early morning. I just assigned "silent" to Macy's collection numbers and block all "unknown" or "private" caller. Seems Macy's collection phone service is malicious, no real good faith to solve issue; I canceled Macy's card immediately. I can always use regular credit cards, which just add financial charge if I inadvertently missed a payment.

I've gotten a call from this number at almost the exact same time of day every day this week, which had me wondering if I was on some tryp of auto-dial type-dealie. My husband researced and discovered it's something with Macy's, but I've never even set foot in one, let alone owe them money. They've been calling my cell phone, which worries me because I can't understand where they got my number from. I have yet to answer the phone when they call, but they never leave voicemails and always call at almost exactly 3 pm daily.
Said his name was Anthony Johnson and was calling about an upaid VISA card balance. Since all my VISA cards are debit cards on my business accounts there could not be a balance due. I asked him for the last 4 digits on the card and at first he wouldn't give it and then gave me 4 numbers that don't match anything I have. Told me I must call an 866-593-3926
and do it immediately. Then he called back 3 more times in next 15 minutes. When I asked him where he was and for whom he was calling, he would only tell me to call the 866#. I had looked up the calling # in reverse directory and it said Florida & FACS and I asked him if he was in Florida and he said, "No, I call via this # but I'm on an Island." Since I felt like it was phishing,I didn't call the #. Today he has called 6 times, despite my asking him not to call back. I've called Visa, my bank, etc. etc.
They have called my house every day for a week between 3 and 7 times per day, never a message. I looked it up today because I happened to be home trying to make dinner, and they called 3 times in less than 15 minutes (why would this EVER be necessary?), and when I called it back it said they were closed and it was a "credit center" no company name. This is so obnoxious. If this is Macy's it is absolutely shameful behavior for a supposed nice department store. I am going to call Macy's customer service number tomorrow to complain.

Overly aggressive tactics.. Our payment isn't even late! They're taking action on a current account calling us 3 times an hour 2-3 times day for the last 3 days now.

The caller ID shows Florida on the company phone and when I said hello no one says anything. It sounds like they are on the road driving. After this call , decided to call the number back and the Operator said if was for Macy's department store, she was asking if I had a credit card and ask what number my phone number was so they can remove it off the distribution list. After lunch time, I received another call with no response. I will have to report this number or do what ever it takes to trace this number.
This place calls me early mornings on weekdends and never answers, I have turned it in to the controlling agencies.
After breather phone calls from the number above at odd hours for the last two weeks, I have filed a police report with the Seattle PD, I have complained to the Attorney General's office in Washington and Florida, and I have complained to the Executive Offices of Macy's. I further intend to contact local radio talk show hosts and see if any of them will pay attention to this problem, if Macy's doesn't take me seriously and put a stop to this nonsense.

Kept getting calls from this number. And when asked who they are and where are they calling from, the person on the other line was reluctant to answer. The only answer was that "it is an important business matter and that I have an upaid balance on my card, when in fact it's completely paid off".
not a scam, it is fds national bank/macy's credit services. it is legal calls and follows fed & state guidelines also read fdcpa guidelines. if people would ask in a rational manner on the phone they would find out

They call quite often, but I wouldn't answer, the line was dead when I did or I wasn't at home. Finally, when I did answer and got a person they asked for someone who has never lived here and that I don't know. Even stupider, they tried to leave a message for this non-existent person!

Number in caller ID serveral times on the one time i answered it was a male,his englist was very hard to understand. Said something about Macys. Told him it was too late and hung up.
I have just started recieving phone calls from this place also. I have heard rumors that its a scam but I am not sure. Anyways, ANY place calling you for ANY manner must cease if told to do so. Contact your local law enforcement for a call trace # ie. *56. Use that after a call from them a few times and contact law enforcement again. Then you can get information on the business and look into civi/criminal proceedings.
Repeat calls from 727-556-5492. We do not know the caller and never pick up the phone. They have never left a message to call back.
We are on the national as well as the state do not call list. Sure would like to put a financial hurt on these people if they are violating the law.
I too have had a call from them daily from theses guys. I have not picked up until last night. A man who pretended not to speak English kept telling me I was over due on my Macy's account. I said I would check my account online and pay that way. He insisted on knowing how much. I hung up.

I called the number back and was told credit services but she would not tell me what the call was about but wanted my informatin which I would not give. There has to be something that can be done about these type of phone calls. This number is on my caller id at three times a day.
My dad received the call on his cell phone. An Hispanic kept asking for his card number. He replied that he didn't have a card and hung up.

Picked up ... noone there. ATT reverse lookup lists this # as a political action committee. Returned call and was told that I had reached FDS Bank, a sister company of MACY'S. FDS is NOT a bank. They are the arent company of MACY'S.

Returned call. Automated response saying it was Macy's and asking for account number. Pressed 0# instead and was transferred to an call center in India "authorized to handle credit services for Macy's." I asked for some evidence that they were in fact Macy's, that I was returning a call and the only information I was willing to share with them was what they already had - my name and telephone number. Agent kept asking for additional information and then looked for my records based on name and phone number and said I had no balance owing and he didn't know why I had been called, probably an automated call.
Macy's telephone customer service is the most inept I've ever experienced, so this probably really is Macy's, but who knows?
