S: I don't think you have a violation because a prior collector passed your hot potato account rather than pursue. If you disputed properly, that dispute is not considered to travel to the next collector. Your challenge is to one collector over one claim at a time, and there are some good reasons to keep it that way. If the same collector pesters you prior to fulfilling a written validation request, then you have it cold.

All: FirstSource has both ignoramus ESL reps calling from overseas and domestic drones. It is critical that you move your exchange to a paper trail, whether it's for debt validation or a cease-comm demand. They work their accounts on auto-pilot, and it could be weeks before an actual human processes your written notice. Meanwhile, even if they behave well on the phone they will likely hand you violations you can sue over, if you've set contact restrictions as you should.

If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the federal law which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue at low cost. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov. This was a call from First Source Advantage on behalf of Chase/Washington Mutual. Chase in my case had already referred it to a different agency and when I told them I was filing BK, they sent it of to another one in violation of the FDCPA. They weren't rude when I spoke with them, but I put them on notice that they had better not call back.

Yep they started calling me for a BOA credit card that i stopped paying. They can just suck it. I dont have the case to pay them and of course they will never stop calling.

Have called our business twice looking for a certain individual that we've never heard of. The second time they called they accused me of lying saying "I find it hard to believe that [name] would give me this number if he's not there". I put her in her place and she hung up.

I have not been called by them as of yet, but I have credit monitoring and got an alert today that First Source Advantage LLC made an credit inquiery. Now I am not sure about this but I have not recently applied for any credit or loans, so if I am correct they broke the law by making an credit inquiery with out my knowledge...i plan on finding out.

I am positive this is a collection company that buys old debt from companies that have written it off. I had a Sprint account AGES ago and didn't pay the contract cancellation fee, I am positive this is what they are trying to get me for. it had to have been over 4 years ago. They even found me on my new cell when I switced providers again, very persistant! Just ignore them or hang up on them. Hopefully soon enough laws will pass not allowing cell phone carriers to charge cancellation fees! Stupid!

Very hateful talking person named Keith demanding I send check to him, claiming I owed money on a Visa I knew nothing about. He said I might not remember because it could have been 15-25 years ago!! I demanded all documentation showing where I ever signed buying anything on this so-called account. Said he could not provide any of that, but would send a letter showing balance if I agreed to mail him check. Told him that meant nothing, as anyone could make up a letter and I knew he was trying to pull some kind of scam. Then, he wanted to know my SSN, which he would have known if I really owed him anything--definitely did not give to him. Finally made me so mad, I told him never call again and hung up! Beware these con artists!

This company First Source Advantage LLC just violated the FDCPA Laws by calling my cell phone leaving three seperate messages in one day. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices once the debt collection agency calls and leaves you a message they are not to call you again in the same day, also if I've asked them not to call my cell phone by law they are not to call, once they have been made aware that the number they are calling is a cell phone.

Also, the person they called at 6:17am should sue. They are not allowed to call you before 8am or after 9pm in your time zone.

Moron called asked for someone that has not lived here in at least three years. Breathing into his microphone the whole time he was talking. Insisted on telling me to give a message to the person with a reference number and to call back at 866-505-5987.

These people left an urgent message for someone who shares my last name (gee, people with the same name? how odd!!). I called them back, told them not to call me again as the first name in the phone book isn't always the person they are looking for and I am very annoyed by their continued calls.

Some kind of collections agency (did reverse directory search as 'Donna' left a message ordering someone to call her back). Apparently someone out there with my same last name owes money so, they just call the first one in the phone book. Called and told them they have the wrong person and to remove the phone number from their call list (didn't give them a name though... These places are creepy and famous for deceptive practices and will try and pin something on you. They have even start harrassing individuals (minors included)based on a name.

Account Soutions Group they have changed names i believe to first source advantage collection agency have dealt with them on making payments and seem to be very good to work for. as for the comment below about a charge off ..Once a company writes a debt off they still can sell the account to a collection agency. Most of the time you can settle the account for 60% of the balance all you have to do is make a offer to settle most of the time they will settle for 60 - 80% of the debt

They keep calling my house, asking for someone who has never lived here. When I tell them that she doesnt and has not lived her for the past 14 years and hang up, they call right back and ask for her again. They call at least 2 times a day..so recently when they call, we now pick up the phone and say " please vote for Ron Paul for president" and hang up and dont answer again for the next few times they call...I too suspect they are trying to scam people by trying to collect bills that are not owed. We ran into this with another similar so called company a couple of years ago after my daughter had surgery. They didnt know anything really and tried to get me to mail them explanation of benefits copies etc..I refused and contacted our insurance company and the agency they supposedly were trying to collect from...no only had they never turned it over to collections, we never heard from them again after the agencies tried to contact them. They were based out of Phoenix Arizona.

I have started answering the phone and holding down the 5 for 30 seconds. They have called me back 10 times in 10 minutes. Persistent fools I will give them that. But while I am unable to work it gives me a hobby. And I can keep it up as long as they can. :)

They have called us 3 days in a row for a debt that is NOT ours. They are very rude and demand we give a message to the party they are seeking. How do you stop abusive debt collectors when the debt isn't even ours???

my neighbor came over with her cell phone and said she had a call for me. The man said his name was Tom kravack with ASG. Unsure of spelling - phonetically he said, "kray Vack". He wouldn't answer my questions and I wasn't about to tell him any of my info. because I didn't know who he is or what he wants. I suspect he is a collection agent.

ASG has been calling my home and my cell phone continously morning,noon,and night.This one person Nick will not let up. He has now started calling my out of state in-laws even though they have asked him not to and has been very rude and billigerant to them. They are not on my app for the company I owe(who have written the debt off)and have nothing to with this.
