Getting lots of nuisance calls from "National Rifle Association", of which I am a long time member, and from "NRA" which someone at WCU identified as National Recovery Agency, trying to collect my late wife's medical bills. My high-powered attorney advised me to pay them, which I did (two bills; total under $300.) Neither 'NRA' leaves a message which you would think anyone would do if they call themselves "URGENT ALERT". Need I add that I will never pick up these goons till they learn some telephone courtesy, which always begins by identifying one's true self & quickly stating one's business.
These idiots are NOT the National Rifle Association, and the real NRA is trying it's best to stop this scam.
But if they keep these calls up, they may get a visit from the Fairfax, Va. SWAT team for interstate wire
This number called my house. I wasn't able to reach the phone in time as I had been sleeping but the caller Id said Urgent Alert and I was worried it might have been our security alarm providers so I decided to look up the number. A ton of people say it's the NRA but why would the caller Id say urgent alert? Thinking it's just a scam.
These idiots keep calling a Sheriff's Office in Florida. One of these days,
they will get a visit from their local SWAT Team!!!
This is not the National Rifle Assn, though they may identify themselves as such. If confronted about that, they may reply that they are the National Recovery Agency - a collection agency. Bottom line is these callers appear to be pure phishing and/or scam artists; trying to get donations if you think they are National Rifle Assn, and/or trying to bluff you out of money by saying you owe debt and they're collectors.
I empathize with all of you who are inundated with unwanted calls ... My solution was to purchase CALLCLERK from
www.callclerk.com ... If you get an unwanted call, you can set CallClerk to Block that call... All subsequent incoming calls from that blocked number will ring once, then CallClerk will intercept it, play a warning message & disconnect the call. You can also block incoming calls from entire area codes if you desire.
CallClerk is actually a complete office "Clerk" answering system / fax etc ... but I have all those features turned off. I ONLY use the Call Blocking feature ... for about $40 & free lifetime upgrades you really can't go wrong.
Note: Your computer needs a phone modem in order for CallClerk to work.
Not ALL phone modems are 100% compatible with ALL the CallClerk Features. (you can read about that at the web site).
For example, if your modem does not have VOICE capabilities then CallClerk can still BLOCK & disconnect unwanted calls, but it won't PLAY the warning message. The modem I use, that is 100% compatible with ALL the features is:
ROSEWILL RNX-56AG ... it's a PCI modem that costs around $10 ...
After using CallClerk for 6 years, my BLOCKED number list as grown to over 500.
Check out CallClerk ... I think there is a 30 day FREE TRIAL offer ...
Caller didn't leave a message.
If this is a call from the NRA I have already asked not to be called for donations are for anything else. I am a Life Member and do not want to hear the polite begging. If it is another outfit then I hope they all rot in hell..
"Mr. Geeze people..."
Shut you pie hole. No one cares if you have excellent credit dork. Solicitors call anyone they're trying to fleece you knucklehead.
Geeze people, if you say it's a bill collector, then you better pay your bills because you're assuming every call you get is a bill collector then.
We have excellent credit so I know it's not a bill collector.
Caller didn't leave message.
I called NRA headquarters and they admitted it was them calling everyday. They said they will remove my number. They wanted my cell # and address. I said, Why? For more telemarketing of course. What part of LEAVE ME ALONE do they not get? If the calls continue I'll file harassment complaint with the phone company. They've got 48 hours to stop bothering me.
call at once a day. never leaves a message. I don't answer unless I know who is calling. How can I stop this?
Human Douche Nozzle Drone Bill Collectors
Most likely the furthest bottom-of-the-bottom scum that either bought an old debt [or "supposed debt"] past the 7 year collection window or the typical Mom-n-Pop criminal collectors that use all manner of ILLEGAL tactics to collect on that nickel-on-the-dollar purchase of an old debt.
Or- they're "piggy-backing" on an already substantiated debt/bill that someone else is already trying to collect on and are hoping to jump the gun and get you to pay THEM and not a legitimate bill...
In either event- anyone that stoops to using "Urgent Alert" as a Caller ID is relegated to the most vile of human excrement as well as most stupid on record.
Think about it- if it's really that "Urgent"- leave a damn message- most likely a person will pick up the phone after they hear that a loved one is injured or a raging fire [that's in the news] is headed for their house.
I certainly didn't answer because... Well- I just don't answer BS CID's like this one.
Our phone rings at least 3 times a day with the caller ID as "Urgent Alert". If this is the National Rifle Association, I will make sure my husband cancels his lifetime membership. If I answer the call, they hang up.
This is very iritating and I wish they would stop!!!
I did not answer it because give me a break "Urgent Alert" just has to be a scammer. They did NOT leave a message so I think I am right.
national recovery agency bill collector calls all the time. has their employees write sites like this to say it is the rifle nra that is calling you. it's a bill collector that will never take you off their dnc list.
Calls everyday at different times. Never leaves a message.
This number calls my cell phone EVERY DAY at about 10 AM but hangs up if I answer. When I call it back, the recording says "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association, we're very sorry we missed you. We were trying to reach you with some recent updates and will try to reach you again in the next few days. If you would like additional information about the National Rifle Association, please press one now." Was a member, but if this is really them I'll never be a member again!
This is the NRA Nation Rifle Association NOT A COLLECTION AGENCY!
